Chapter 17: Chapter 17 : Motivation!!
"Uchiha Shisui, you truly are the greatest genius of the Uchiha clan!"
Genya marveled at Shisui's Body Flicker Technique, unable to hide his admiration for Shisui's strength.
Forget about Kotoamatsukami and the Mangekyō Sharingan for a moment; just the Body Flicker Technique itself is incredibly powerful. I wonder how far these clones can travel and how many there are.
If they can cover several kilometers or more, this technique would be almost unbeatable.
Even if the clones have limited range, this ability, when fully utilized, could rival Pain's Six Paths!
If one masters this perfectly and takes a step up, it can even transcend time and space for brief teleportation.
However, Shisui still lacks the necessary chakra reserves, though he's still young and has room to grow.
Training Ground!
After Uchiha Shisui defeated Itachi, all the clones vanished.
Only Shisui remained, looking down at the exhausted Itachi, and said slowly: "You have talent, but you need to develop your own unique skills. Every Jonin has their own special techniques!"
Uchiha Shisui was giving Itachi advice on what it takes to become a Jonin.
Overall, Itachi is very talented and strong, and his future achievements will likely exceed those of a Jonin, but he needs to understand his current limits to grow stronger.
"My own ninjutsu?" Itachi pondered, considering what new techniques he should learn.
"It doesn't have to be a unique jutsu. What matters more is mastering a few techniques well. For instance, the Fourth Hokage's Flying Thunder God Technique, when perfected, can make you an Elite Jonin or even a Kage!" Shisui said calmly.
"Is that so? Then what are my unique techniques?" Itachi, lying on the ground and panting, asked. "What ninjutsu do I even know? All I'm learning are the techniques that my clan knows. Do I need to master those?"
Itachi was deep in thought, feeling confused and lost.
Despite being praised for his high talent since birth and being one of the most talented Uchiha, facing Shisui left him feeling overwhelmed.
Shisui's skills had put tremendous pressure on him.
During their battle, Itachi had used his two tomoe to cast a brief illusion on Shisui, but it was quickly shattered.
[Although Itachi is skilled, talented, and intelligent, his notable techniques are still Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu and Susanoo!]
"You don't need to act like this," Uchiha Shisui said to Itachi, speaking clearly. "We Uchiha have a special bloodline limit. One day, you'll awaken a new form of the Sharingan called the Mangekyō!"
Shisui continued, "Once you awaken the Mangekyō, each of our eyes will have unique abilities, all of which are incredibly powerful. So, you'll become a top ninja sooner or later, maybe even surpassing me!"
"Our eyes offer endless possibilities," Shisui said as he tried to reassure Itachi and build his confidence.
"Our eyes?" Itachi's spirit was reignited, and his goal became clearer: he wanted to surpass Uchiha Shisui!
He was determined to awaken his Mangekyō Sharingan and keep improving. Shisui was right—his eyes held limitless potential.
From the moment he awakened his Sharingan, he felt its extraordinary power.
"I want to surpass Shisui."
As Itachi thought about this, his resolve grew stronger.
"Work hard; I'm waiting for you ahead, Itachi!" Shisui encouraged him before leaving.
Itachi was left in a daze, but instead of going home, he continued practicing on the training ground as the sky grew darker.
"It seems like Shisui really motivated him," Genya observed, watching Itachi's relentless training. "I wonder what Shisui said to change his attitude so much!"
Although Itachi had always worked hard, he wasn't this intense before.
Why did Shisui visit Itachi?
Could it be that the Third Hokage had asked Shisui to prepare him?
"Considering the timing, Itachi is probably being groomed by the Third Hokage to join the Anbu in a few years."
As Genya finished his meal on the roof, his expression grew serious. "Itachi, I hope you make different choices from your past life and aren't too swayed by the Hokage's Will of Fire."
As he spoke quietly, a faint aura of menace surrounded him.
Even though he couldn't act on it now, if he ever got the chance to kill Itachi in the future, he would do it without hesitation.
It's not that he doesn't have a deep connection to Konoha or his clan; it's simply that he can't stand what Itachi did.
From an outsider's perspective, Itachi's actions might seem admirable—sacrificing his own clan for the sake of Konoha and the village's future.
But if you were in their shoes, you'd see it differently.
As a member of the Uchiha clan, he didn't agree with Itachi's actions. Just because some Uchiha leaders wanted to start a coup didn't mean the entire clan deserved to be wiped out, especially when the coup hadn't even begun.
The Uchiha clan was one of the two great ninja clans that founded Konoha. Now, they were being marginalized and targeted? Was it fair to exterminate their entire clan over this?
The Uchiha weren't just ninjas; they had civilians who longed for peace.
These Uchiha civilians didn't engage in fighting or events—they were innocent. How could it be right to kill them without cause?
And those kids!
Even though Genya wasn't fond of them, he couldn't bear the thought of them being killed. Especially since those kids admired Itachi, yet Itachi wanted to kill them.
It was absurd.
In Genya's view, all of this was just the Third Hokage's way of eliminating dissent.
There's a saying in Konoha that out of 9,000 ninjas, 3,000 are from the Sarutobi clan. While it might be an exaggeration, it's not far from the truth.
Did the Sarutobi clan really do everything for the village?
Didn't Sarutobi Hiruzen look out for his own clan when he was Hokage?
The decline of the Uchiha and Senju clans had nothing to do with him?
Sarutobi Hiruzen and the Sarutobi clan did many questionable things while pretending to act on behalf of the civilians, and now they've become the largest clan in Konoha.
Many members of the Sarutobi clan hold important positions in the village and train ninjas.
What Genya finds most ridiculous is how Sarutobi Hiruzen, the third Hokage and supposedly the strongest ninja in Konoha's history, exaggerates his own strength.
Is he trying to make people forget about the First Hokage and Madara?
Doesn't the Third Hokage feel embarrassed by such bragging?
Yet, the two filial sons of the Uchiha clan actually believe him and the so-called "Will of Fire" he talks about!
If there really is a Will of Fire, then why are the Senju and Uchiha clans in Konoha so weak or even facing extinction?
How can the Will of Fire be passed on if people have forgotten the founders of the village?
