"That kid was pretending. He controls an extremely terrifying genjutsu and deceived all of us," Sarutobi Hiruzen said through gritted teeth, his expression dark.

Reputation mattered most to Hiruzen. He had crafted a plan: a life-and-death battle with Orochimaru, his rogue disciple, in full view of the public. He intended to die a hero, carrying Konoha's darkest burdens to the grave, just like his predecessors. His name would shine in history, honored as the Hokage who saved Konoha from peril.

But Fujiwara Kirito disrupted everything.

Not only did Kirito know of his darkest secrets, but he also seemed intent on revealing them. The truths about the death of Hatake Sakumo (White Fang), the sacrifice of Hyuga Hizashi, and the extermination of the Uchiha clan—all would surface.

Today alone, the fallout from Kirito's actions had sent shockwaves through the prominent clans of Konoha. It had taken every ounce of Hiruzen's political clout to suppress the turmoil, but his once-pristine reputation was now tainted.

If the truth behind the Uchiha clan's massacre or Naruto Uzumaki's origins came to light, his legacy would crumble entirely.

Utane Koharu broke the tense silence. "What is the current situation?"

Hiruzen sighed. "I dispatched three elite jonin—Kakashi, Might Guy, and Asuma—along with Morino Ibiki, Gekkou Hayate, and two special jonin. When I arrived with the ANBU as backup, they had all been defeated within half an hour."

"How are Kakashi and Guy now?" Mitokado Homura asked anxiously, his face pale. Koharu also leaned forward, worry etched into her features.

In Konoha's current weakened state, every elite ninja mattered. The loss of Kakashi or Might Guy would cripple the village further, especially since Kakashi was seen as a future candidate for Hokage.

"Fortunately, Naruto Uzumaki and the Genin who passed the Chunin Exam preliminaries interrupted him. That delayed Kirito long enough for Kurenai's intervention. Without her, the consequences would have been disastrous." Hiruzen's voice trembled slightly as he recalled the incident.

The room fell silent. Even Koharu and Homura, both known for their stoicism, were visibly shaken.

"Did you say… even you were no match for him?" Koharu whispered.

"If I were ten years younger, I wouldn't take his strength seriously," Hiruzen said, feigning confidence. "But Fujiwara Kirito used the Uchiha clan's Fire Formation Barrier. My hands were tied—I couldn't risk the lives of Kakashi, the injured, and the Genin trapped inside."

In truth, Hiruzen knew that Kirito's genjutsu alone had rendered him powerless. Without invoking the Reaper Death Seal, he stood no chance of victory.

Homura exchanged a glance with Koharu. Both understood the implications. If even the so-called "strongest Hokage" couldn't match Kirito, the village faced an unprecedented crisis.

"Is Konoha finally going to meet its reckoning?"

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the 'Disguise Technique.'"

Kirito smirked as the system notification rang in his mind. Thanks to his Observation Haki, he could hear every word of the Hokage's meeting from his comfortable perch in the hot spring.

Pakura, wrapped in a bathrobe, stepped behind him and draped her arms over his shoulders. "Master Kirito, why don't you rest a little longer?" she murmured, her voice warm and teasing.

Her embrace, coupled with her faint fragrance, was enough to stir even Kirito's steady composure. He glanced at the sheets, where faint traces of their earlier passion remained, and chuckled softly.

Gently stroking her cheek, he said, "I have to step out for a bit. Get some more rest."

Pakura blushed but nodded obediently. "Be safe."

Kirito dressed swiftly and disappeared from the hotel. His grin widened as he muttered, "If Konoha's F4 are finally assembling, I should give them a proper show."

Root Headquarters

Deep underground, hidden from the public eye, Danzo observed as his daughter, Shimura Mukai, struggled to perform the Wood Release: Thorn Killing Technique. Thin vines sprouted from the ground but wilted almost immediately.

Exhausted, Mukai collapsed to her knees, gasping for air.

Danzo, leaning on his cane, frowned in disappointment. Two Root ninjas stood silently at his side, their presence ominous.

"Her potential is remarkable, but her performance is far from satisfactory," Danzo muttered, closing his eyes.

Mukai was the eldest of his three children and the only one to inherit the Wood Release. Born under special circumstances, she had been his hope for revitalizing the Senju's legendary techniques within the Shimura clan.

His second son, Shimura Mukage, possessed solid ninja skills but lacked the genetic gifts of his sister. The youngest, Shimura Aizan, had been born frail and died within a year, leaving Danzo's plans for a powerful Wood Release lineage in jeopardy.

Despite years of effort, his dreams of building a new clan centered on Wood Release had crumbled.

"Enough for today," Danzo said gruffly, turning to leave. "Take her to rest."
