Chapter 228: Chapter 223: Black Zetsu's Hasty Escape

Chapter 223: Black Zetsu's Hasty Escape

"Ugh, why haven't my injuries healed yet? I want to go on missions too! I heard it's an S-rank mission, no, even beyond S-rank!"

In Konoha Hospital, Naruto grumbled unhappily. The thought of Lee and the others going on a mission while he was stuck in a hospital bed irritated him.

Kakashi, sitting nearby, was flipping through his favorite book, completely ignoring Naruto's complaints. As for Sasuke, he simply stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.

Outside the hospital, a figure suddenly appeared—Obito!

"Obito-chan, if you want to kill them, now is the perfect opportunity," Black Zetsu emerged from a tree nearby, his voice dripping with temptation. "They're all severely injured and can't even move."

However, Obito merely shook his head. He had come here just to check on Kakashi. He had heard that Kakashi was nearly killed, but seeing him now, it was clear he was just hospitalized, nothing too serious.

Obito turned to leave. Deep down, he had never truly made up his mind to kill Kakashi. Every time it seemed like he was about to do it, he would hold back.

No matter what, Kakashi had once been his most important comrade. Besides, Kakashi posed no threat to his plan of reviving Rin.

Rather than killing him, it was better to let him live in pain!

Obito could feel it—Kakashi's heart was filled with guilt, sorrow, and countless negative emotions.

"Tsk, what a pity. This was such a great opportunity..." Black Zetsu smacked his lips regretfully before preparing to leave with Obito.

Just then, Black Zetsu's gaze landed on Naruto and Sasuke.

Perhaps he could manipulate Danzo to eliminate them instead?

The more he thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. Without hesitation, Black Zetsu began controlling Danzo, directing him toward Konoha Hospital.

It would only take half a day to arrive.

Half a day passed quickly. Under Black Zetsu's manipulation, Danzo swiftly reached Konoha.

Standing at the village's entrance, a smirk appeared on Danzo's lips as he effortlessly infiltrated Konoha.

Before long, he arrived at the entrance of Konoha Hospital.

Staring at the hospital, Black Zetsu was filled with excitement.

But just as he was about to make Danzo step inside, a sudden whoosh echoed through the air.

Black Zetsu looked up in confusion—only to see a massive fist flying straight at him!

"Die!"

Tsunade's furious roar rang out. Boom!

Danzo was sent crashing into the ground.

Without hesitation, Black Zetsu bolted.

No way was he sticking around—Tsunade was a Kage-level powerhouse, far stronger than Danzo.

If he stayed, it would be suicide!

"Hmph! I knew someone would come looking for trouble."

Tsunade flexed her fist, watching Danzo's retreating figure.

The more she looked, the more familiar he seemed...

Meanwhile, in Amegakure…

Konan had finally uncovered the truth of the past.

"Damn you, Obito! I'll kill you!"

Her face was filled with rage as she stared at the documents in her hands.

It was Obito who had slaughtered the other Akatsuki members.

And Hanzo of the Salamander had never intended to kill them—he had merely been deceived by Danzo.

And Danzo, in turn, had only acted because of Obito's manipulations!

"Obito will be dealt with," a voice spoke from behind.

It was Itachi.

He had been aware of Konan's secret investigations all along.

Besides, at this point, Obito was practically an enemy to them as well.

In fact, Akatsuki was now the enemy of every major force!

Elsewhere…

Deidara and Sasori finally arrived at the location where Shukaku was about to be resurrected.

Meanwhile, Haku and Suigetsu had already regrouped, both fully recovered.

"Haku, it looks like we have some unexpected guests," Suigetsu remarked.

"As long as they don't interfere with Shukaku's resurrection, it's fine," Haku replied calmly.

Before leaving, their leader Ishihara had instructed them:

As long as Shukaku wasn't absorbed by some spirit-sealing technique, it didn't matter who captured him after his revival.

Their mission was solely to ensure his successful resurrection.

"Sasori, looks like you've got another opponent, hmm!" Deidara said with a grin, eyeing Haku mischievously.

Haku's Ice Release was a direct counter to Sasori's poisons.

Not only that, but Haku's close-combat skills were formidable.

"Hmph! This time, he'll become part of my collection!" Sasori scoffed, unfazed.

Then he glanced at Deidara.

"And that other guy doesn't seem weak either. If you can't handle him, I'll take care of both of them myself!"

"Are you kidding? You're struggling with just one, and now you want to fight two?" Deidara sneered.

Without another word, he activated Sage Mode and charged in.

Sage Mode drastically enhanced their close-combat abilities, though they had yet to master its boosts to ninjutsu…

"I'm going in first, Sasori, hmm!"
