Chapter 191: Chapter 186: True Rage?
Chapter 186: True Rage?
"Hmph! You're Konoha's ninjas, aren't you? I didn't expect you to meddle in such matters. Or should I say, as expected of Konoha ninjas, you sure like to interfere in everything."
The ghost sneered mockingly. It was merely the death of a companion—why should he care?
After all, the three of them were either going to devour each other, or be devoured.
In the end, only one of them could survive.
From the start, the three of them were competitors.
Now, whoever managed to survive until the end would summon that "great lord," who would accept them as a subordinate!
This was precisely why he didn't care about his companion's life or death.
Originally, it had been a competition between him and the Fear Ghost.
But who would have thought that before their battle even began, someone else would show up and give rise to the Rage Ghost?
This infuriated them, so they left the Rage Ghost to deal with the one who created him—Naruto!
In their eyes, Naruto was an extraordinary opponent. That Sage Art Rasengan alone could probably send the ghost away for good.
However, they never anticipated that Naruto's attack would be so straightforward!
"Bastard! Go to hell!"
Naruto roared in anger. The ghost in front of him wasn't even fighting back.
And since it was a ghost, no matter where Naruto attacked from, it always sensed his moves and dodged in advance.
This rendered all of Naruto's strategies useless.
Whether it was a feint, an underground ambush, or an aerial assault—none of it worked!
As soon as Naruto gathered his Sage Art Rasengan, the ghost would flee.
Moreover, it didn't attack Naruto at all!
Wasn't it supposed to be a Rage Ghost?
Shouldn't it be furious and attacking like him?
As if sensing Naruto's thoughts, the ghost looked up at him and spoke slowly:
"You are not angry enough. You created me, but you don't understand me!"
The Rage Ghost's words left Naruto momentarily stunned, before his fury reignited.
What did it mean? Was it mocking him?
In response, Naruto increased the frequency and intensity of his attacks, disregarding the rapid depletion of his chakra.
The ghost, however, shook its head.
"In a state of extreme rage, one does not display emotions of anger.
Instead, one becomes incredibly calm, seeking ways to eliminate the opponent.
"Look at yourself. Are you truly angry right now? No, you are not angry. You are foolish!"
The Rage Ghost's blunt words caused Naruto to pause. He realized the ghost had a point.
Taking a deep breath, Naruto calmed himself and began to look for openings in his opponent's defense.
Seeing this, the Rage Ghost smiled approvingly.
Yes, this was the correct way to use anger!
In truth, the Rage Ghost wasn't trying to teach Naruto; it was merely stalling for time.
After all, there were no flaws in its own defenses.
Now that the Fear Ghost was dead and the Cruel Ghost was locked in a fierce battle, it was the only one still in control.
As long as the Cruel Ghost perished, that "great lord" would appear!
The Rage Ghost had known about the other two ghosts' affairs and the great lord's existence since its birth.
---
"It seems you're getting anxious because your companion's situation has stabilized, isn't it?
Is there some strange connection between you?"
Noticing the Cruel Ghost's increasingly rapid and aggressive attacks, Kakashi voiced his suspicions and began analyzing the situation.
"Damn it! I just want to kill you, that's all!"
The Cruel Ghost roared furiously, resembling the Rage Ghost in that moment.
Kakashi, however, had nearly completed his analysis.
When the Fear Ghost died, the Cruel Ghost had been pleased rather than angry.
But now that the Rage Ghost was still alive, it had grown restless, as if fearing for its own survival while also worrying about its companion.
Initially, they had all been part of the same body. Now that they were split, they could likely reunite.
If the other two heads died, the remaining one could monopolize the body!
In theory, the fewer the heads, the stronger the ghost should become, right?
Realizing this, Kakashi's eyes turned sharp.
If that was the case, he couldn't give the ghost the chance!
"Naruto!"
Kakashi suddenly shouted, startling Naruto, who was still contemplating how to defeat his opponent.
Even Sasuke, not far away, was surprised. Had Kakashi figured something out?
"We're going to kill our opponents simultaneously!"
"Huh? Why, Kakashi-sensei?"
Naruto was confused. Why would Kakashi suggest that?
Kakashi's explanation left the two ghosts visibly shocked.
Yet at the same time, they sneered, confident in their faith in the great lord.
They believed that the moment a victor emerged, the great lord would appear!
Little did they know, there was no great lord at all.
The so-called great lord was merely a dormant aspect buried deep within themselves!
