Naruto Birdcage

Chapter 56: Ch 56 : Yakushi Nonou

Inside a lounge in the Hokage Building.

Obito couldn't help but silently doubt Makoto as he noticed that he didn't seem to have prepared anything.

Was this guy really capable of doing it?

There were five people in the room: besides Kakashi and Rin, Kushina was also present, having been called by Kakashi to observe the process.

Makoto simply had Rin sit on the sofa facing him while he sat beside her, holding her wrist with one hand.

Makoto asked, "Can you feel anything?"

Rin replied in surprise, "I feel… the chakra in my body is moving, and I can't control it."

Makoto said calmly, "Relax. Don't worry about it."

He slowly closed his eyes, carefully sensing the vibrations of Rin's chakra and guiding it to move according to his will.

He placed his hand on Rin's abdomen, and he could feel that he could even manipulate the sealing technique Minato had placed.

It might take some effort, but if he wanted to, it would only be a matter of slowly breaking it down, like a dam collapsing under the pressure of countless ants.

Moving upward all the way to her chest, Makoto sensed the chakra he had previously left in Rin's body, now clinging to her heart.

"This guy… where is he putting his hand?" Obito muttered jealously from the side, unable to help himself.

He knew Makoto was doing something serious, so he held back, but he couldn't suppress his irritation.

Kakashi reminded him to keep quiet and not disturb the two of them.

With the resonance of the chakra, Makoto began to gradually remove the chakra seal that had been placed on Rin's heart.

The process was somewhat lengthy.

Kakashi, Obito, and Kushina stood to the side, watching for what felt like a long time.

They stared intently at the two, but all they could see was Makoto's hand pressed against Rin's chest, with no idea of what was happening inside her body.

Finally, blue chakra lit up around Makoto's hand, as though he had pulled it out of Rin's body, and it dispersed into the air.

"It's done," Makoto said.

Kushina stood there in a daze, "That's it? It's done?"

Rin carefully examined her body and indeed noticed that the previous feeling of restriction was gone.

"I feel so much better," she smiled at everyone.

Kakashi and Obito immediately moved closer, and Obito still asked with concern, "Rin, are you really okay now?"

Makoto replied, "I've removed not only the curse mark on her heart but also the sealing technique used by Kiri to seal the tailed beast. I've left only the dual Four Symbols Seal."

At this point, Kushina approached Makoto and asked,

"How did you do it? You didn't even form any hand seals—how did you remove the sealing technique?"

Makoto simply said, "I have my own methods. If you're still unsure, you can have Rin checked again."

Rin smiled and said, "No need. I feel great now. Thank you, Makoto."

Kiri-nin used an odd-numbered sealing technique on the Three-Tails, which was not very stable, designed so that it could be remotely released at any time, causing the tailed beast to rampage and attack Konoha.

Although Minato's Dual Four Symbols Seal prevented this from happening and also converted the Three-Tails' chakra into Rin's own strength, the Kiri-nin sealing technique still interfered with the process.

Makoto smiled faintly. "It was nothing. We don't need to mention such formalities between us."

Obito, listening, couldn't help but scrutinize Makoto.

Kakashi also expressed his gratitude, and Obito, noticing, bowed to Makoto as well.

Makoto glanced at Obito and said, "When I have some free time, you can treat me to a meal. The owner of Ichiraku Ramen is still asking about you."

Obito paused for a moment, then scratched his head and smiled sheepishly, agreeing.

This guy saved Rin, and he's not bad at all...

The group chatted for a while longer, mostly expressing their gratitude to Makoto.

Afterward, Makoto told them to leave.

Makoto had some other matters to attend to in the afternoon.

After finishing his official duties, he brought Hakumen and an Anbu from the Hyuga clan to an orphanage located at the corner of the village.

The reason for his sudden interest was that, while reviewing paperwork, he had come across a funding request from the orphanage.

The head of the orphanage was a gentle-looking blonde woman.

Upon seeing Makoto and the Anbu behind him, she was momentarily startled.

"You are...?"

"My name is Hyuga Makoto," Makoto introduced himself.

"I'm here to discuss the orphanage's funding issues."

"Hello! I'm Yakushi Nonou, the director here. Please, come in!"

Yakushi Nonou, seeing the important guest, quickly invited Makoto inside.

The prolonged years of war had led to a significant increase in the number of children at the orphanage, making the financial situation increasingly strained.

The orphanage had applied to the village for assistance more than once, but with Konoha's finances already in trouble, the Third Hokage had been unable to address the matter at the time.

It wasn't until he stepped down that Makoto encountered this issue.

Upon entering the orphanage, Makoto also took note of the environment.

The orphanage wasn't large, but there were many children.

Some were gathered in a room playing games, while others were chasing and playing in the yard.

"This year, the number of children has doubled compared to previous years. The orphanage is really struggling to keep up," Yakushi Nonou said.

"We've applied to the village many times, but perhaps due to the busy military affairs of the war, we haven't received any response.

A few of the staff and I went to the surrounding towns to fundraise, and some kind-hearted people have donated."

Makotos gaze swept across the room for a moment, and he finally spotted a silver-haired boy wearing armor and glasses.

"That child's name is Kabuto. He, like many others, just arrived at the orphanage not long ago. He's a bit introverted," Yakushi Nonou noticed Makoto's gaze and voluntarily introduced him.

Makoto nodded gently and then said, "The village's finances are also very tight, and there is no extra money available for the orphanage."

Yakushi Nonou's face showed a look of disappointment.

After years of war, it was understandable that the village was in this state.

It was just unfortunate for these children.

One of the orphanage staff members, hearing this, couldn't help but want to say something.

"However," Makoto suddenly changed the topic,

"I can apply to the Daimyo for additional funding for the orphanage, enough to ensure its normal operation in the future."

"Really?" Yakushi Nonou exclaimed with delight.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!"

She repeatedly bowed to Makoto in gratitude, despite him being just a young child.

Makoto continued, "In addition, I plan to select some of these children and train them to become ninjas."

Yakushi Nonou asked in surprise, "Do you mean to send them to the Ninja Academy?"

Makoto replied, "No."

Yakushi Nonou was momentarily stunned, but quickly realized what Makoto's words meant—these war orphans...

Makoto continued, "In addition, you will be responsible for teaching them."

He planned to turn these orphans into his own force, and Yakushi Nonou, who acted as their mother figure, would be the means of controlling them.

It's far easier to control one person than a group.

Yakushi Nonou lowered her head, saying, "You've got the wrong person. I already..."

Makoto glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

She was half a head taller than him, and her loose work uniform concealed her figure, but one could imagine what the body of this former elite ninja might look like.

"The orphanage will have sufficient funding and a highly professional new director to manage it.

The children's future living conditions will be taken care of, and when they reach the appropriate age, they can attend school in the village."

"These are the conditions, Wandering Miko."
