Naruto: A Soul Rewoven

Chapter 4: 4. The Talk...

---

**Third Person POV:**

We see our protagonist entering the Hokage's office, the guards giving him disgusted glances. He soon stood before the office door. The assistant, who despised Naruto to her core for coloring her hair, seemed unusually quiet, too shocked by the changes in the blonde. Before she could say anything, Hiruzen called Naruto into his office.

**Hiruzen's POV:**

"I knew Kakashi wouldn't be a suitable teacher for Naruto, so I had originally planned for Jiraiya to train him. But, as always, things didn't go as planned in this accursed world.

At first, I was surprised by Naruto's determination and his ability to think deeply about his circumstances. I was the one who told the librarian to let him read freely. I kept observing him, and to my astonishment, he far exceeded my expectations.

Instead of rushing into learning stronger jutsu, Naruto focused on the basics. Using the brilliant strategy of shadow clones, he worked on his weaknesses, emphasizing physical conditioning and chakra control. When I noticed him training with the Rasengan, I was initially suspicious of how he knew about it and even considered questioning him. But I decided to wait and watch.

To my shock, Naruto mastered the Rasengan in just a week and, shortly after, derived the Giant Rasengan. This alone guaranteed him a victory against Neji.

I also noticed how frequently he increased his training weights—every four to five days—and how rapidly his body adapted. In just 20 days, Naruto achieved what his peers had been striving for over the last six years. Now, seeing him approach me, I couldn't help but feel curious about his reasons."

**Naruto's POV:**

I took a deep breath and entered the Hokage's office, my nerves on edge. I had already decided not to pretend to be the old Naruto, as Hiruzen would see through it easily. Instead, I would play the part of someone maturing.

**Hiruzen's POV:**

"He looks nervous. The changes in him are clear. He didn't even yell 'Jiji!' before entering the office."

**Naruto's POV:*

I flashed him a smile. "Hey, Jiji."

He returned my smile, one filled with curiosity. "Hello, Naruto-kun."

I quickly stopped overthinking and said, "Jiji, I've been training during this time, and—"

He cut me off. "I know, Naruto. I've been keeping an eye on your training. To be honest, I'm both surprised and proud of your achievements. But I'm unsure whether this change is for better or worse."

I gulped and continued, my expression solemn. "Jiji, I know who my parents are. I know about my heritage."

There was no change in his expression, as if he had already anticipated this. He asked calmly, "Naruto-kun, may I ask how you know something that only about ten people in the world are aware of?"

I answered, "The seal my father placed on the Nine-Tails had a defense mechanism. Whenever I tried to open the seal under the Nine-Tails' influence, it released my father's remaining chakra to help me reseal it.

During my fight with Orochimaru, I was briefly controlled by the Nine-Tails. That's when I met my father. He read my memories and realized I lacked a proper jutsu. He told me the Rasengan was the perfect jutsu for someone like me, with my massive chakra reserves, and gave me the instructions to master it. He also revealed the hidden function of shadow clones."

Hiruzen maintained an emotionless demeanor and asked, "How can you prove this, Naruto-kun? While I want to believe you, I can't risk the village's safety."

I realized this was my chance. "I can tell you something only you and my father know."

His eyes gleamed with curiosity. I said, "You once asked him, three days after he became Hokage, how he managed all the paperwork."

Hiruzen's expression shifted to one of excitement as he asked eagerly, "What did he say?"

I smiled playfully. "Shadow clones."

I watched as he broke down with emotion, muttering, "How could I be so stupid?"

After calming down, he said, "I believe you, Naruto-kun."

"Thanks, Jiji," I replied with a smile.

He then asked, his curiosity piqued, "What's the real reason for your visit, Naruto-kun?"

"I need the Explosive Shadow Clones jutsu," I answered.

As the Professor, he quickly realized my intention and grinned. "Quite smart of you, Naruto-kun." He handed me the scroll.

**Third Person POV:**

Naruto left the Hokage's office with a satisfied expression. However, he soon noticed a bubblegum-haired figure approaching him.

**Naruto's POV:**

"Is that Sakura? Why is she coming towards me? She looks angry... and curious."

**Sakura's POV:**

As I was returning from my shift at the hospital, I noticed someone unfamiliar. If not for his whisker marks, I wouldn't have recognized him as Naruto. Seeing him, I blushed slightly but quickly composed myself. Still, I couldn't help but approach him, curiosity getting the better of me. "Is that you, Naruto?" I asked.

**Naruto's POV:**

Bubblegum asked if it was me. I answered, "Hi, Sakura. It's me," though I couldn't hide the bitterness in my tone.

**Sakura's POV:**

Was it my imagination, or did Naruto speak bitterly? Naruto—the one who followed me around like a lost puppy, the one who always got in the way of my time with Sasuke? Just because he looked slightly more handsome now, he dared to think he was better than Sasuke—or me?

I raised my hand to hit him while saying, "Naruto, baka! Don't get full of yourself! You're just an orphan, nothing special. Sasuke and I are far superior to you! You're the one holding Team 7 back. That's probably why Kakashi-sensei didn't train you—because he realized you were a lost cause."

**Naruto's POV:**

As Sakura raised her fist to hit me, I quickly dodged and grabbed her wrist. After hearing her words, I felt nothing but disinterest.

With an emotionless stare, I replied, "I have nothing to do with you or Team 7. But don't pry into my life. And if you ever insult my parents again, 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙖𝙠𝙪𝙧𝙖"

She looked terrified and shocked, but I didn't care to waste any more time on her. I left without another word.
