Naruto: A Shinobi’s Burden

Chapter 1: Introduction: Monsters and Gods

Mokuton (Wood Release), was the signature jutsu of the "God of Shinobi," Hashirama Senju. This power allowed him to end an entire era through sheer strength. There was no force capable of resisting him; against absolute power, no trick could emerge victorious.

However, many people focus solely on this power, overlooking how exceptionally skilled Hashirama was in the shinobi arts.

His vast chakra reserves rivaled those of a tailed beast; his physical strength could move mountains; his regeneration rendered medical jutsu obsolete; and his speed left enemies no time to react.

In short, Hashirama was a complete shinobi—among humans, he could be considered a god.

Or a monster.

This world is full of monsters.

They have mouths to eat, two eyes to see, two ears to hear, two arms and legs to walk and clap. They appear human, but only on the surface.

These monsters are capable of splitting mountains, dividing rivers, and creating moons.

This is the power I strive for. In a world of monsters, I will become the greatest of them all.
