Mystic Eyes of Death Perception from Zero

Chapter 51: Chapter 50: The Kind Half-Elf Girl

After running out of the alley and wandering aimlessly, Subaru Natsuki finally spotted a silver-haired figure in a luxurious white and purple dress among the crowd on the street.

Seeing this beautiful figure, Subaru was filled with joy and immediately blurted out his urgent thoughts, "Wait! Satella! I'm glad you're still alive... anyway, we need to get to Old Man Rom's loot house right now...!"

However, the silver-haired half-elf frowned, her purple eyes glaring at him with clear hostility, "What do you think you're doing?"

"Huh?" Subaru was completely baffled, having no idea what he had done wrong.

"Suddenly calling someone by the Witch's name... what are you trying to do? I don't know who you are, but if you're trying to insult me, be prepared to face the consequences!"

The silver-haired half-elf, named Emilia, had always been ostracized due to her appearance and her half-elf heritage.

Now, some random guy was mocking her by calling her 'Satella', the name of the Witch of Envy. Emilia was furious.

But remembering that she still needed to find her stolen insignia, she decided against punishing this rude person in public. With a cold snort, she turned and left.

Subaru, still in a daze, was later confronted by the thugs from the alley and met his end once again.

...

Meanwhile, Graham, who had been wandering around, suddenly felt a wave of dizziness... He had returned to the moment when he had cornered Felt and asked her to become a maid.

Looking at the fleeing golden-haired loli in front of him, he sighed.

How could he have died again? How foolish.

It seemed he would have to advance his plans sooner. If Subaru kept dying, the world would keep resetting, and that was getting annoying.

As he walked down a street, Graham suddenly noticed a green-haired little girl timidly staring at the crowd, her face full of fear.

It seemed she had gotten separated from her family while out shopping.

Graham crouched down to meet the girl's gaze and spoke in a gentle tone, "Little one, what are you doing here? How about Onii-san here takes you to see some goldfish?"

"Goldfish? What's that?" The child looked puzzled but also intrigued.

Graham's face was quite handsome, and despite his silver hair, his eyes were soft and exuded a strong sense of warmth.

People who could communicate with spirits naturally had high affinity with kids...

"It's something very beautiful~ Come on, let's go with Onii-san." Graham coaxed.

"Okay~"

Seeing how friendly he was, the little girl sweetly agreed and reached out her small hand, letting him take it.

Graham knew she was the daughter of the appa stall owner. As he was about to lead her away, a clear and melodious voice suddenly called out from behind.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing? Are you a kidnapper? I'm warning you, don't get any funny ideas, or I won't be nice to you!"

Turning around, Graham saw the silver haired half-elf, Emilia, the very person he had been looking for!

Her long, beautiful silver hair, large purple eyes, delicate face, and perfect figure confirmed that she was indeed a stunning beauty.

However, it seemed she had mistaken him for someone with ill intentions?

His mouth twitched, and Graham replied helplessly, "Miss, please get your facts straight before accusing me. I was just taking her to find her parents. How did that turn into me having ulterior motives? I won't take the blame for this!"

Emilia snorted, her beautiful purple eyes fixed on him, "Hmph! I heard you clearly! You said you were taking her to see 'goldfish'! I don't know what that is, but it definitely sounds suspicious!"

"That's too much! If you heard that, then you must have been watching this child. Why didn't you come over and take her to her parents yourself?" Graham pointed out.

"I-I was about to do that! So, hand her over to me now!" Emilia's face turned red.

She wouldn't admit that she had been hesitating between helping the child and searching for her insignia.

She had already decided to help the lost child first, but due to her half-elf insecurities and her lack of experience interacting with children, she had hesitated, allowing Graham to beat her to it.

"Little one, how about letting this big sister take you to find your parents?"

Graham turned his attention to the little girl who had been tightly holding his hand.

The green-haired loli pouted, her big eyes blinking as she said in a soft voice, "I-I want to go with Onii-san!"

With that, she hid behind Graham, peeking out timidly to observe Emilia's expression.

"You see, miss..."

"Ugh..." Emilia's shoulders slumped, her expression crumbling as she was rejected by the child.

This was a pretty big blow to her.

However, she quickly regained her composure and stared at him intently, "I'll come too. I want to see you take her home with my own eyes!"

"Suit yourself," Graham shrugged, then took the little girl's hand and started walking toward the appa stall.

Throughout the journey, Emilia followed closely behind, biting her lip, clearly still uneasy.

Even though finding her insignia was more important, Emilia had chosen to prioritize helping the lost child get home. This alone showed just how kind-hearted she was...
