Mystery: Lucky

Chapter 19 Dream

When Alice was told that she would have dinner with Klein in the evening, she refused at first.

But there was no way, because this was a party. Alice finally appeared at the table. So besides Klein, who couldn't eat after an afternoon of fighting training, there was another person who protested against eating with eyes closed.

"This is Alice Kingsley. Even if you haven't seen her, you should know something about her." Dunn introduced. After all, Alice has been appearing in Blackthorn Security Company recently. Most people have never seen her before. She really lacks a formal meeting and introduction.

Alice quickly noticed a few sights. She was not surprised. Or rather, she would find it strange if people who knew about her didn't look at her.

Dunn picked up the glass of red wine in front of him and continued, "Let's welcome the new official member, Klein Moretti. Cheers!"

Klein endured the discomfort and picked up the champagne. Alice also raised the juice in front of her... well, it was orange juice.

For this dinner, Alice went out of her way to find a piece of white cloth that was not very light-blocking. She could tell what was in front of her in bright enough light. Well, the requirements for seeing the abnormality on Klein seemed to be very strict...

Alice's unusual dress quickly attracted the attention of the Night Watchers who didn't know what happened between her and Klein. After Klein put down his wine glass, Siga Teon asked curiously: "Alice, why are you dressed like this?"

"Ha," Alice responded with a rhythmic aria, "Because there is a secret in the fate of our Mr. Moretti that cannot be seen directly."

Others looked at Klein curiously because of Alice's words, and Klein successfully showed the embarrassment of being at a loss that Alice expected.

Alice, whose revengeful heart was satisfied, restrained herself and drank orange juice contentedly. At this time, she suddenly realized the benefits of being a child - for example, she could drink childish sweet drinks in such occasions, and for example, she could use such a prank to express her dissatisfaction to Klein, even if Klein did nothing wrong.

After Leonard and the others had finished eating the food in front of Klein, the waiter brought pudding and ice cream. This was Alice's favorite moment during the meal.

She quickly finished her ice cream with blueberry juice. When she was considering ordering another one, Dunn suggested, "Come here, let's have another toast for Klein."

Before he finished speaking, Klein blurted out, "Captain, can I have a dinner?"

In the silence of everyone, Alice followed closely, "Captain, I want another ice cream!"

So everyone laughed, and when Alice finished her second ice cream, Klein's black pepper steak was also served.

Alice looked at Klein eating steak and licked her lips. She was disappointed that she didn't taste the remaining sweetness, then looked at Dunn expectantly and said, "Captain∽"

"You can't have a third serving of ice cream." Dunn ruthlessly rejected the request.

Alice pouted and knocked on the table listlessly, waiting for Klein to finish eating.

At night, Alice suddenly woke up from her dream, but unlike waking up with a start, she soon realized that she was still in a dream... Well, because she was in a room made of desserts, with walls made of cakes and a table made of chocolate, and the table was full of ice cream...

Looking at Dunn, who was sitting opposite her and looking at her expressionlessly, Alice felt that she understood why she woke up.

But Dunn said nothing, just stared at Alice quietly. At first, Alice could still continue to eat ice cream with the mentality of not eating it, but Dunn kept watching, and Alice gradually felt that eating ice cream became a torture.

This is really a complete nightmare... Alice, who had lost her happiness, thought silently in her heart. She began to regret what she had said to remind Dunn at that time... It should not be just her, but also Ms. Daly. I wonder if Klein reminded her...

Alice realized that the captain should still be trying and finding a way to play the nightmare. Thinking of the fact that she had been playing badly in the Lucky One for three years, she suddenly wanted to reflect on her attitude.

...But reflection is useless! The "Monster" path is not like the "Insomniac" path. The church does not have a potion formula at all!

Hey, speaking of it, why can she stay awake in her dreams?

Alice suddenly realized something. She remembered that when Dunn first entered her dream to ask her, she was actually awake at that time - for example, she selectively concealed that she actually remembered that the unlucky courier was frightened when he saw her suddenly wake up.

Moreover, after Dunn entered her dream, the scene of the dream also changed...

This power could never belong to her. Alice suddenly felt a sense of fear when she realized this. She had always lacked awe for extraordinary powers, but at this moment, she really felt a little fear.

Who tampered with her dream? That unknown existence could keep her awake in her dream, but could it make her die in her dream without knowing it one day? Or would she fall into a coma and become a vegetable from then on?

All these assumptions made Alice feel terrified just by thinking about them, and her lost memories seemed to indicate that she was arranged to become an extraordinary person.

Like a puppet... Alice thought, for a moment, she even suspected that she was a character written by someone, and all her experiences, thoughts and behaviors were controlled.

So, if that was the case, would her doubts about this matter at this moment also be written by someone?

Alice shuddered and dispelled this terrifying and dangerous thought, but the dream could not be maintained because of her fear and gradually broke apart. She woke up from the dream and opened her eyes to see the holy emblem of the goddess of night.

Alice had never felt that the holy emblem of the goddess of night was so reassuring. She remembered that the goddess had the power to give people a good night's sleep. She closed her eyes and prayed silently in her heart:

"Goddess of night who is higher than the starry sky and longer than eternity, and is also the Lord of Crimson, the Mother of Secrets, the Queen of Disaster and Fear, the Lord of Sleep and Silence, please grant me a good night's sleep and a good dream."

The prayer seemed to really work. Alice's fear slowly dissipated, and she fell into a deep dream again. Judging from the smile that slowly rose from the corner of her mouth, this should indeed be a good dream.

This was the closest Alice had ever been to the truth (that tone)
