Chapter 190: The Only Thing I’m Crazy For Is You

Mao Shun glanced at the three lifeless bodies on the ground, remnants of the men who had dared to play the "game" with Feng Fan.

Then, turning to Feng Fan, his eyes filled with admiration, he said, "Brother Feng, you're really ruthless!"

Feng Fan met his gaze and found the comment oddly cute. He chuckled softly before replying, "Brother Mao, I wouldn't call it ruthless. I just returned the favor."

As they continued talking, the girls who had split off to explore returned. Feng Fan's eyes swept over them, and he immediately noticed something.

Su Xiaoli's energy remained unchanged, she hadn't played the game. Huang Xue, however, carried a small amount of contaminated energy. But Xue Qiang… she was overflowing with it.

Feng Fan narrowed his eyes. "Qinqin, did you play the game? You shouldn't let that energy inside your body, it can drive you mad and change your body."

Xue Qiang simply smiled. "Don't worry, Fanfan. I'm fine."

Feng Fan studied her closely. Unlike the three attackers from earlier, she didn't show any signs of corruption.

"You don't feel any different?" he asked.

Still smiling, Xue Qiang reached out and touched his hand. "Fanfan, there's no way I'd go crazy for something like that. The only thing I'm crazy for is you."

Silence.

Huang Xue was stunned.

Su Xiaoli was stunned.

Mao Shun was stunned.

And Feng Fan? He was thrilled.

'If I ever complained about her crazy tendencies, I must have been the crazy one. This girl is perfect!' he thought, laughing heartily.

Even though Xue Qiang seemed unaffected, Feng Fan still wrapped an arm around her waist and began absorbing the contaminated energy.

"Don't resist," he said.

After clearing her energy, he turned to Huang Xue and did the same for her.

"We found where the villagers are. They seem to be in the north," Feng Fan said.

"Are we really going after them? They'll come to us sooner or later," Su Xiaoli pointed out.

Feng Fan nodded. "We have to take the initiative. Playing the game until we gather enough energy to leave is out of the question. Our best chance is to kill the village chief and destroy whatever is controlling this place."

His words piqued the girls' interest, they had no idea Feng Fan had a way to bypass the game's rules.

"How are we supposed to fight him? If we attack anyone, we'll die before even landing a hit," Xue Qiang asked.

Mao Shun chuckled and leaned in, lowering his voice so only their group of five could hear.

"Brother Feng Fan here is a cheater."

The girls looked surprised. "What do you mean by a cheater?" Huang Xue asked.

Feng Fan smirked. "The Dao laws here can't drain my life force or cultivation. I'm guessing the village chief has some kind of immunity too, but the rules still apply to him as long as he doesn't play his cards."

"When we face him," Feng Fan continued, "ask as many questions as you can. I'll tell you whether he's lying or not. We need to drain his cultivation before making a move. I suspect he's at the Spirit Severing realm."

They looked at him in surprise.

"You're really that confident you can tell when someone's lying?" Su Xiaoli asked.

Feng Fan smirked. "Who better to spot a liar than a liar himself?"

He openly called himself a liar, yet there wasn't a trace of shame on his face, only pride.

Xue Qiang, Su Xiaoli, and Huang Xue all had the same thought: I should slap him.

Sensing their judgmental stares, Feng Fan quickly cleared his throat and changed the subject.

"Alright, let's go!"

Inside a house in the northern part of the village.

"Village Chief," the stitched-face woman said. "The sacrifices should be ready by now. Should we go collect them?"

She spoke about the cultivators as if they were nothing more than livestock, her face showing no emotion. To her, these people were nothing more than cows and chickens that could be slaughtered at will.

The village chief, Dai Li, sat on a small wooden chair and looked at her blankly. "Not yet. Let's wait a few more hours. Hopefully, that brat will die without us having to lift a finger."

Bang!

The door to the room where the stitched-face woman and Dai Li were talking burst open. A figure appeared in the doorway.

"Village Chief!" A man with half his body disfigured stumbled inside. His life force was weak, almost on the verge of fading completely. "T-That man you were worried about… H-He's here!"

"What? Where?" Dai Li asked, standing up from his chair in surprise.

"I'm right here. Were you looking for me?" Feng Fan appeared behind the half-disfigured man, a confident smile plastered on his face.

The half-disfigured man turned, his already twisted face contorting in fear as he met Feng Fan's gaze. Feng Fan's smile widened, a quiet menace lurking behind it.

The man trembled. He knew what was coming but was powerless to stop it.

"How are you feeling?" Feng Fan asked, his voice casual.

The man wanted to ignore him, to turn and run, but the Dao laws held him in place.

"I-I'm fine… just a little afraid," he stammered.

"You're lying," Feng Fan said.

"N-No—!"

Before he could finish, the last remnants of his life force drained from his body and flowed into Feng Fan. All that remained was a shriveled husk.

With the last lackey dealt with, Feng Fan turned his gaze toward Dai Li and the stitched-face woman. His smile told them everything—he didn't put them in his eyes.

The stitched-face woman's expression remained blank, but the fear in her eyes betrayed her.

Dai Li, on the other hand, was seething. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white as he glared at Feng Fan, his rage burning like wildfire.

"You brat! You dare step onto my turf and kill my subordinate right in front of me?!" he roared.

Feng Fan blinked, feigning innocence. "Oh? That was your subordinate? My mistake, I thought he was just a stepping stone."
