My Valkyries Seems To Be All Come From The Future

Chapter 4: Your Position Will Belong to Him from Now On

“Welcome to join the Immortal Blades’ Logistics Unit. Starting today, Mr. Chen Wenjin, you are a member of the Immortal Blades’ Logistics Unit.”

Rita extended her hand toward the direction of the warehouse. The self-disciplined robots immediately halted their ongoing tasks, forming two neat rows to welcome Rita and Chen Wenjin.

Perhaps more accurately, it might be just welcoming Chen Wenjin alone, given that these self-disciplined robots were all under Rita’s control.

However, Chen Wenjin found Rita’s words a bit odd.

“Um, well, Miss Rita, since I’ve already joined your department, you are now my superior. Please stop using formal titles to address me.”

Chen Wenjin felt something strange. Why was she still calling him “Mr.” and using honorifics like “you” now? Clearly, he had become her junior. Wouldn’t she find it odd herself? Calling her junior “Mr.”?

“I am your superior…”

Rita paused for a moment, then turned to face Chen Wenjin, a smile forming at the corners of her mouth.

“If I ask you to do anything, will you do it?”

“Oh, this…”

Chen Wenjin scratched his head.

He felt that something was a bit off.

“You’re my boss. If you tell me to run west, I definitely won’t run east.”

While Chen Wenjin wasn’t sure if there were any differences between working for the Immortal Blades and a regular workplace, one thing was certain: not defying your superior’s orders was a basic requirement.

Of course, this included tasks related to work, and sometimes even smaller tasks were acceptable.

However, did the Immortal Blades really need human labor for minor tasks? After all, they had self-disciplined robots, right?

“Is that so?”

Rita’s smile grew even brighter, almost unconsciously.

She took the lead and walked into the warehouse.

“I look forward to that day.”

“?” What is she talking about? Why does it feel like she’s speaking in riddles?

With a head full of question marks, Chen Wenjin followed Rita into the warehouse.

As soon as he entered the warehouse, Chen Wenjin was stunned by what he saw.

Why was this massive warehouse completely empty? Shouldn’t there be items stored here? Is this really a logistics warehouse?

What is that huge computer?

Chen Wenjin couldn’t quite grasp the situation. Although it was labeled as a logistics department, he couldn’t see any supplies inside.

“Vice-Captain, we’ve detected a response to the Honkai Energy in Siberia. It’s…”

A Valkyrie, dressed almost identically to the members of the Immortal Blades squad he had played with in a game before, was making a call in front of a computer screen. Chen Wenjin then faintly heard Rita’s voice speaking next to him.

Huh? How did he hear that?

Chen Wenjin was somewhat surprised by his hearing. Could it be that, after gaining compatibility with Honkai Energy, his body had also undergone some degree of enhancement? Why could he even hear the communication device that should be hidden in their ears?

However, the Valkyrie’s voice quickly ceased. She had noticed Rita standing within the logistics department.

And next to Rita stood Chen Wenjin.

Rita stood in front of Chen Wenjin, her hands crossed in front of her. Only the Valkyries seated at the computers could see the expression on their Vice-Captain’s face.

Though the Vice-Captain’s face maintained the usual smile, behind that smile, the Valkyries saw an illusionary projection of a figure holding a scythe quietly hovering behind Rita. It seemed that if even one more word were to escape their lips, that illusionary figure would immediately swing its scythe, cleaving their lives as if they were Honkai Beasts.

“Gulp—”

The Valkyrie who had just called Rita swallowed hard.

What’s going on? What’s wrong with the Vice-Captain today? Why is she so angry? And who is that man next to her?

“I already mentioned this to you yesterday. It seems like you’ve all conveniently forgotten.”

The alluring tone in Rita’s voice was now tinged with a hint of frost. Of course, only the Valkyries who had followed Rita for years could detect the chilling undertone. Chen Wenjin, who was meeting Rita for only the second time today, couldn’t perceive it.

So he watched Rita and her Valkyries perform, feeling a bit bewildered.

What on earth were they saying?

“Today, a new member is joining our unit… I mean, department. And yet, you haven’t even prepared a welcome ceremony?”

Rita walked step by step toward the Valkyries, and as she revealed the reason for her bad mood word by word, they finally remembered something.

Yes, the Vice-Captain had assigned them this task yesterday evening—to welcome a new member to the Immortal Blades squad and hold a welcome ceremony for them.

But when did they ever have a tradition of welcoming new members to the Immortal Blades with a ceremony? And the Vice-Captain hadn’t even informed them when this new member would arrive.

Originally, they were planning to prepare some small fireworks for a simple welcome. But who could have guessed that when the Vice-Captain brought the new recruit here, she hadn’t informed them at all!

And why would the new member be a man?

Could men join the Immortal Blades? Without Honkai Energy compatibility, wouldn’t a man just be torn to shreds by the Honkai Energy on the battlefield?

“Reporting to the Vice-Captain!”

A Valkyrie suddenly stood up from her chair and saluted.

“Y-You… You… You didn’t tell us when the new member was arriving…”

A sharp gaze suddenly fixed upon the Valkyrie who had spoken, causing her to tremble all over. She had no idea why their Vice-Captain was looking at her like that.

She trembled slightly and tried to continue speaking, but she didn’t know what she had said wrong…

“You didn’t tell us when the new member was joining! That’s why our preparations couldn’t proceed smoothly!”

“Huh?”

Rita visibly paused.

So it was because of her?

“I see. In that case, let’s just let this matter go.”

“Alvitr.”

She beckoned to the Valkyrie who had stood up.

“Come here.”

She was Alvitr? The Immortal Blades’ tool? If Alvitr was here, then this was actually the Immortal Blades’ Third Division, right?

But why did Rita refer to this place as the logistics department?

“!”

The Valkyrie named Alvitr shivered once more, then quickly ran to Rita’s side, standing up straight.

This was the first time the Vice-Captain had summoned me over. Could it be that she’s promoting me?

“From now on, you’ll give your seat to him.”

“Thank you very much, Rita…”

Alvitr began to salute again but halfway through, she realized that Rita didn’t seem to be offering her a promotion.

“Huh? Lady Rita?”

Did something go wrong?

“Ah? Me?”

Chen Wenjin pointed to himself.

“But I don’t know anything.”

“It’s okay. Just sit there. From now on, Alvitr will be your deputy. If you have any questions, you can ask her.”

Rita turned around, ignoring Alvitr, who was almost in tears and about to kneel on the ground. She leaned down to Chen Wenjin’s ear and whispered gently.

“However, Alvitr is still my subordinate. If Chen Wenjin can’t handle it, don’t lay a hand on Alvitr.”
