NOVEL NEXT Chapter 25: Chapter-24 Mind Stab
"Kaizo? Kaizo? Are you here?"
Harry couldn't find Kaizo here, so he called out softly.
"I'm here."
Kaizo released his [Invisibility] behind him, and sudden sound made everyone jump.
"Kai…Kaizo, when and from where did you come? Ron patted his chest and said with lingering fear. When Kaizo spoke, he almost thought that that they had been discovered by a professor.
"I've here for the past ten minutes."
"Why are you all so late? Weren't you looking forward for tonight's duel?"
Kaizo glanced at the two figures behind them. One of them has thick curly hair, and the other is stocky.
"It's all because of Granger, she wanted to follow us and there was nothing we could do."
Speaking of her, ron immediately felt resentful.
"What you did was against the school rules. I almost went to tell your brother, Percy!" Hermione was also furious,"I really didn't expect you, Mr.Grindel, to be fooling around with them...."
"But, Miss Granger, you are actually enjoying this." Kaizo revealed Hermione's inner feelings without mercy,"Aren't you also violating the school rules now? With Prof.McGonagall character, she will not listen to your excuse."
"That's because the Fat Lady who looked after the door went to visit someone in some other portrait. I can't go back. Mr.Longbottom can testify!"
Hermione pulled Neville aside a little aggrievedly. But Kaizo only gave her a look that said, "I definitely believe you, so please choose a better excuse."
This drove Hermione a little crazy. "Mr.Grindel, you are different from them. You are a top student and the professors like you. You don't think that this ridiculous duel is right, do you?"
Hermione suppressed her anger and tried to explain to Kaizo. She had always been very patient with people who were better than her.
"We should stop them together."
"You're right, I do think that this duel is ridiculous." Kaizo nodded in agreement.
But before Harry could refute, he added:" But since you have agreed to the duel, you should fulfill your promise. This is a matter of personal credibility and dignity."
"If you have read,"A Guide To Medieval Witchcraft", you will know that this tradition arose together with Muggle chivalry and has been passed down to this day. It is also a part of wizards culture. As Muggle born wizards, we should follow the local customs."
After listening to Kaizo's words, Hermione fell into silence.
Ron, on the other hand, became proud and said to Harry," I have never seen her being so obedient."
Harry thought thoughtfully,"As expected, top students only listen to those who are better than them."
He seems to have figured out the trick on how to deal with Miss-Know-It-All- go to Kaizo. Seeing that Hermione had been convinced, Kaizo turned to Harry and said:"Don't think that I am supporting you. I am still sticking to my previous opinion. Think about the time you and Malfoy have agreed upon? Its so late and he is nowhere to be seen. He is probably plotting something against you."
"It's past midnight. Maybe Malfoy and the others were caught by Filch?" Harry guessed.
"Maybe it was Crabbed who was caught. Remember his size?" Ron also analyzed.
As a pureblood, he still didn't believe that Malfoy would abandon this duel after initiating it. The crystal glass cabinet displaying the prizes sparkled in the moonlight.
Trophies, shields, medals and statues glowed silver and gold color in the darkness. The five people moved forward against the wall, staring at doors at both ends of the room. Harry took out his wand in case Malfoy burst in and challenged him to a duel. Time passed minute by minute.
"Maybe he didn't dare to come because he was afraid." Ron whispered,impatient from waiting so much.
At this time, a voice came from the next room, which made nearly everyone jump. Harry had just raised his wand, when he heard someone speak- it wasn't Malfoy.
"Sniff around, my dear, where ever those brats might be hiding." The five people immediately prepared to leave quietly, but the clumsy Neville got into trouble again. He stumbled and quickly grabbed Ron's waist, and the two fell onto a suit of armor together.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
The sound of metal clashing was enough to wake up the entire castle.
"Run" Harry shouted, and the five people immediately ran at full speed down the corridor. They skirted doorposts and ran down corridors until they emerged near the Charms classroom.
"I..told...you," Hermione gasped, grabbing the seam of her chest with her hands,"I..told...you!"
"I think we've gotten rid of him" Harry gasped. He leaned against the cold wall and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Mr.Grindel was right!"
Hermione said to Harry"You understand it right? Malfoy didn't even plan to go there to meet you! Filch knew that someone was going to the Trophy room, Malfoy must have revealed information to him, and you shouldn't have come to the appointment."
Harry had to admit that her accusations was right this time.
But other than that, he didn't want to say anything else to this Miss-Know-It-All.
"Disgraceful Malfoy, I want to see what answers he will give tomorrow." Ron's face turned red. He had been the one to urge Harry to come to the duel. Who would have thought that Malfoy had no honour and would leak their information to Filch.
Kaizo patted his shoulder and advised:
"Don't be so angry. In fact you can help him shoot his own foot tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, you can spread this rumour that Malfoy is a coward."
"He is afraid of Harry and does not even show his face. His act of cowardice has tarnished the honor of Slytherin and the pure blood family. I believe that you elder twin brothers will also happily help you with this favour."
"You're right." After hearing Kaizo's words, Ron immediately became excited."Fred and George will definitely be willing to help me in making a joke of Malfoy."
"As long as you think it's enough."
Kaizo smiled mischievously. Although he didn't dislike the Slytherins as much as the lions, he still didn't mind teaching Malfoy a little lesson.
"But now, we have to be careful. I can feel that someone or something is coming."
Kaizo seemed to feel something due to his talent of Prophecy. As soon as he finished speaking, a clown like guy appeared in front of them. He has a broad face, big mouth and round eyes.
He was wearing brightly colored clothes, a tie, a hat, and long slippers with long slits showing his toes. He is the famous Peeves of Hogwarts. Nearly all young and most older students think that Peeves is the same as the other ghosts of Hogwarts.
Actually this is not the case.
Kaizo remembered a book in a library describing a magical creature called "Poltergeist."
This creatures look like ghosts, but are in reality not ghosts. They are something which exists between illusion and reality. They can move objects in physical form with physical powers. They sometimes haunt specific locations, usually populated by large numbers of teenagers, and are usually attached to buildings.
In fact, Peeves has been living in Hogwarts Castle since the founding of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Poltergeists have never been alive either, they have never died because they have never lived.
But because of this, Poltergeists are immune to most spells like ghosts are. Certain spells, such as the [Mimblewimble], [Waddiwasi], are effective against them. Kaizo believes that "Peeves" is the poltergeist of Hogwarts.
"A few first years dare to wander around in the middle of night,Tsk, tsk, tsk, naughty, naughty, you will be arrested and punished."
Peeves screamed happily and giggled.
It's really difficult to deal with someone like him, who can go through walls.
Hermione didn't know what was going on and wanted to plead to Peeves. But Kaizo thought about the nature of the mischievous poltergeists speculated in the books– some kind of indestructible collection of mental chaos.
Since Peeves comes from spiritual power, he should most likely be affected by the power of mind. Just in time, as Kaizo's spiritual power had gradually increased. Kaizo had just developed an application for his psychic powers.
"[Mind Stab]"
With a thought, Kaizo's spiritual energy turned into a sharp needle and hit Peeves directly.
"ah!!"
The shrill screams of Peeves echoed in the corridor. The first years swore that they had never heard Peeves make such a miserable sound.
"Everyone, let's go." Kaizo seized the opportunity and led them to run forward until they came to a closed door.
