Chapter 26 Peeping From The Ghost
Levin gained a little fan girl and finally returned to Ravenclaw Tower with heavy steps.
Even late at night, he still had to face the problem of the magic door knocker:
“What can be owned but not shared?”
Levin was already very tired, but such a question didn't bother him.
A little thought gave me the answer:
"Lonely."
"That makes sense."
The door opened, and Levin couldn't wait to get in.
After running around all night and seeing the three-headed hell dog, he missed the soft bed in the dormitory more than ever.
Suddenly, he stopped.
He felt as if someone was staring at him,
However, after looking around, Levin didn't find anyone.
Not even a ghost.
But Levin believes that his intuition is not wrong.
After learning about the prophecy school's specialization in a stargazing class, Levin discovered that he had received some strange inspiration.
It appears from time to time and gives Levin intuitive hints that are correct most of the time.
For example, the time he noticed Peeves ahead of time.
This is the power of the magic of the prophecy school.
So he drew his wand.
In order to provide convenience for students who like to read, the magic candles in the Ravenclaw common room are kept on all night long.
Levin can therefore see his surroundings very clearly.
In the direction of the window sill, the blue curtains were blowing in the wind, and it was obvious that there was no one behind them.
The ceiling and carpet decorated with stars are also clearly visible.
Bookshelves, chairs, fireplaces,
Levin glanced around and found no trace of anyone.
The night was very quiet, with the occasional sound of wind coming from the window. The tranquility of the night was so beautiful, but Levin could only feel chills standing on end.
Even though everything has been checked, the feeling of being stared at hasn't gone away.
Eventually, Levin's attention came to the white marble bust of Rowena Ravenclaw.
Judging from the statue, it is indeed a beautiful witch. Young wizards always find her tense expression intimidating, but Levin can feel her seriousness for knowledge.
The best thing is that this statue was created with ingenuity:
No matter which direction you look at the statue, Rowena Ravenclaw's penetrating eyes seem to be staring at you.
This is similar to the Mona Lisa.
After walking around the statue, Levin was finally convinced that the guy staring at him was in this direction.
"I know you are hiding in the statue, come out quickly!"
Levin pointed his wand at the statue of his college's founder.
However, there was no response,
Unfortunately, today's Levin has not learned any magic for reconnaissance.
But he immediately thought that he was not only a magician, but also a psychic.
What better way to detect such intangibles than psychic energy?
[You try to use psychic tentacles to detect the surroundings. You have a flash of inspiration and understand the technique of psychic detection. You have learned the 2nd level [Psychic Sight]]
[Due to your continuous training, your spiritual power has exceeded the limit, your psychic level +1, and you have learned [Psychic Communication]]
[Psychic Vision: Create a sophisticated telepathic force field based on spiritual contact, allowing you to still see through "feeling" in complete darkness or when your vision is obscured by the material environment. 】
[Psychic Communication: Ability to communicate psychically with non-hostile intelligent creatures]
Feeling the sudden increase in psychic power, Levin was overjoyed and immediately used the newly learned [Psychic Sight].
At that moment, he discovered that his spirit seemed to be separated from his body and spread to the surroundings. No entity could stop the penetration of spiritual power, and everything within the range was under control.
As the telekinesis field spread forward, he felt the presence hidden within Ravenclaw's bust.
It was a spirit body and an unknown magical force.
"Ms. Grey?"
Levin asked using the power of teleportation.
"Is that you? Levin Green? What magic are you using to communicate with me?"
Even though Ms. Gray was already a ghost, she was still shocked by Levin's hand.
"That's the power of the mind, Ms. Grey."
After explaining, Levin asked again: "Now that I have discovered you, Ms. Gray, can you tell me why you are hiding in the statue and spying on me?"
"Sorry, I'm just curious about you."
Seeing that she had been exposed, the female ghost quickly floated out of the statue.
Ms. Gray is Ravenclaw's college ghost. Like her mother Ravenclaw, she is tall and beautiful.
But unlike her mother's serious and wise temperament, Ms. Gray is slightly arrogant.
She almost never spoke to wizards from other houses, only occasionally answering questions from the eaglets.
"Levin Green, I know you. You are the best student of our Ravenclaw in the past few years. Many professors praise you. But I know that you are more talented than they imagined."
"In this statue, I have seen you use magic that I have never seen before more than once. I am very curious about you."
As she said this, Ms. Gray clung to the statue, as if she would hide in if something went wrong.
After hearing this, Levin could somewhat understand her attitude.
Ms. Gray seemed to take him for that person.
Decades ago, this female ghost had a bad experience, which made her wary of talented students like Levin.
"I understand, it turns out you have been spying on me in the statue."
Levin's words made the female ghost blush with embarrassment - the ghost's body was actually gray.
"In fact, the magic I used was all created by myself. Everyone has their own secrets. No one stipulates that little wizards can't create magic, right?"
"But what I'm curious about is, how did you end up inhabiting the statue of Ms. Rowena Ravenclaw?"
Levin's rhetorical question hit the nail on the head,
Through his psychic ability, he could feel the panic in the other person's heart after hearing this question.
"I...I just wanted to pay my respects to Ms. Ravenclaw...I admire her very much!"
Ms. Gray's words were no longer as strong as before.
Levin revealed her thoughts straight away: "No, you don't just admire Ms. Ravenclaw. It's impossible for a ghost to live in a statue just because of admiration."
"——You are not the real Ms. Grey. Your true identity is Ms. Ravenclaw's daughter, Helena Ravenclaw."
"How do you know?" Gray, or rather, Ms. Helena asked in surprise.
Of course it’s because I’ve read the original work!
Of course, Levin couldn't really say that: "I actually guessed it."
"Guessed it?!"
"I know Muggle history." Levin explained, "Ms. Jane Gray was the grand-niece of Henry VIII and the Queen of England who only reigned for 13 days. The date of her death was February 12, 1554, but according to " "Hogwarts, a School History" You appeared in the castle much earlier than that era."
"You can never be the real Ms. Grey."
"Thinking of your similar appearance to Ms. Ravenclaw, and your strange relationship with Bloody Barrow, I make a bold guess that you are Ms. Ravenclaw's daughter."
Listening to the eleven-year-old wizard's methodical analysis, Helena Ravenclaw thought of the boy more than forty years ago.
They are equally smart, equally handsome, and equally eloquent.
After a moment of confusion, Helena regained her composure: "Your analysis is very reasonable."
"As you said, Rowena Ravenclaw is my biological mother."
"As her only descendant, it makes sense that I can inhabit her statue."
Helena's tone was natural, but Levin immediately discovered the flaw in her words.
In other words, it was a trap deliberately left in his previous words.
Levin said that he guessed that Helena was Ravenclaw's daughter, so she could inhabit Ravenclaw's statue.
In order to get rid of Levin as soon as possible, Helena directly admitted her identity and followed the trend.
But in reality, Levin knew that ghosts cannot remain in entities for long.
Ghosts are not moving pictures of Hogwarts;
Although they can let themselves pass through the wall for a short time, they cannot hide inside it for a long time, even if it is a statue of her mother.
Moaning Myrtle seems to be an exception, but the reason why she can stay in the toilet is because the toilet has pipes and there is space in it to stay.
So, Helena was lying.
So - why did she lie? What is she hiding?
According to Levin's psychic reconnaissance, the statue is not hollow;
Therefore, there is only one possibility for Helena to hide in the statue - that statue was cast with special magic.
What is this magic?
Levin immediately became interested.
Slytherin can leave a secret room in the castle, there's no reason why Ravenclaw can't leave something behind.
——The entire castle was designed by her.
