Chapter 63
Girl and Elf 7
Demons.
I am not familiar with its existence.
I get along with Griffon and Skyhose. But I’m not sure what other demons are. Sometimes it’s because I’ve never met anyone but a friendly demon. I love griffons and seafo. They’re demons, but they think they understand each other. But there are a lot of horrible demons in the world.
I knew that as knowledge. I understand that it was me, but I didn’t understand it as a fact. I was more shocked than I thought by the fact that demons like Griffons and Seafo were looking to the elves for sacrifices.
“The demon… Can’t you do something?
The elf is sacrificed, said Grandpa Elf. That won’t be what you want for Grandpa Elf either. Then can’t we do something about the demon?
“If I could do something like that, I would do it.”
“- From a scary demon, ever run away?
If we cannot do something about the existence of sacrificing ourselves, can we not escape from the place where that terrible thing exists? Just as all the beasts and we fled from the land of man. I wonder if I should run away, that’s what I think. But to me like that. My grandfather elf went like he was exasperated.
“- You can’t possibly do that!!!
I screamed. I was screaming.
For Grandpa Elf, I guess there’s a reason I can’t get away from here. If we can’t do anything about the demon, will Grandpa Elf do something scary called sacrifice everyone? Then what can I do? What should I do? Think about it desperately. For one thing, I have to listen. How did you end up in a situation where sacrifices had to be made?
“Why?”
“… there is a spirit tree”
“Spirit, tree? Is that where they say they give birth to spirits?
“- It is not the place they say it is, in fact, the place where the Spirit lights its honorable life. At the foot of the place, a demon sits. He can do whatever he wants with the Spirit Tree at any time. I can’t let the Spirit Tree go anywhere else.”
Is it because I can see the Spirit that Grandpa Elf tells me so many stories?
The Spirit Tree is real. In that place the Spirit is born. A tree where spirits are born is real. The place where the presence I felt was born. I’m sitting there……. If the thing called Spirit Tree didn’t matter to the Elves, I’m sure the Elves would have ended up fleeing the scene. I can’t do that because there’s something important to the elves called Spirit Trees.
“Spirit trees are lit with spiritual life. Over time the Spirit grows in the Spirit Tree. And growing up……, winging at the world. He makes a pact with our elves, who tend the Spirit Tree. Other than that, the Spirit lives the way he likes each other in the world. … some of them look like you. Though there are spirits who make covenants with themselves.”
“… I felt it, only the Spirit on Grandpa Elf’s side”
Spirit that many of the elves fulfill their contracts. But all I could feel was the magic on Grandpa Elf’s side. I wonder what that means.
“… the Spirit stays in the Spirit Tree at some point. And rest in the Spirit Tree. Because of that demon, the Spirit hasn’t rested satisfactorily in the Spirit Tree. Depending on the time of return of the long-living Spirit, that demon began to sit in the Spirit Tree. My spirits were quite powerful spirits, so I guess you can feel them. Many spirits are so weak that they can’t feel it. Plus, that demon eats even spirits”
“… eat spirits?
“… if we reject our sacrifice, which is an elf, we eat the life that has just been lit by the Spirit Tree, we eat the Spirit that we are contracting, and if we cannot stand it and our Elf is sacrificed, the Spirit that we were contracting with that elf will carry out a rampage or be eaten by that demon”
Grandpa Elf, he said that. What I care about is eaten by demons…. When I think about it, I’m relieved. Isn’t it the answer to the consequences of witnessing and softening the hearts and minds over and over again that Grandpa Elf is trying to sacrifice all the beasts and runs dear to me?
I don’t know how long it has been since our companions were eaten and the existence of a beloved Spirit was eaten and that has lasted, but I think it has certainly been long enough for us humans and the elves who will hate the Beasts to compromise on letting us live in the village on purpose.
“… Grandpa Elf tries to feed everyone to that demon instead?
“Oh, I’ll feed you. That way, the Spirit Tree, the Spirit, and our Elves can live.”
The elves don’t tell me their names because they don’t care about us. Because I’m sure he thinks he’s the one who makes us sacrifice right away…. I think so after listening to you.
If I stay like this, if I do nothing, if nothing moves, will we all die without everyone knowing about that horrible demon or the circumstances of the elf? – No, I don’t like that. I open my mouth because I don’t like it.
“Why don’t you sacrifice that demon if you can do something about it?
“… what are you talking about”
“I’m sacrificed, I don’t like it. All the beasts and Mr. Lan, I, love it. I don’t like it, so I want to do something about the demon.”
“… who we elves couldn’t do? You think you can do something about it, human or beastly?
Grandpa Elf looks down at me like he’s pissed off.
I told Grandpa Elf like that.
“When I met the elves, I thought it would be nice to get along.”
I thought how nice it would be.
“A highly physically capable beast man and an elf who is good at magic… a different species who is good at things, if they can hold hands together”
“… what are you trying to say?
Grandpa Elf says things like he doesn’t know what I’m trying to say.
“…… I don’t know if I can help with an animal man with high physical abilities, an elf who is good at magic, but I think I can do anything with the Griffon and Seafo I’m contracting with, if that’s all I have.”
To what I said, Grandpa Elf, he doesn’t say anything. To my grandfather Elf, who doesn’t even reply, I say.
“I also think that demons that couldn’t be defeated by an elf alone can be defeated if we all join forces. Don’t even do it, I can’t, I don’t want to say it. I think we can do what we couldn’t do with one race, if we all join forces.”
The elves may have given up on not winning. But —, that’s because the elves fought alone.
“Join forces, demons, let’s take them down. It doesn’t change anything that you keep giving more and more sacrifices. Ever, bad things go on, that’s all. It’s definitely better to take them down than that.”
I was, like, watching Grandpa Elf.
– – With the girl, Elf 7.
(Maybe the divine girl listened to the elf and suggested so. Because I couldn’t help doing anything like this)
