My straight roommate is so good

Chapter 26

Qiao Song felt the weight on his shoulder, paused, and turned to look at Ling Jianshu’s profile. “Ling Brother, do you have something to go out for too?”

“Yes, yes, of course I have something!” Ling Jianshu replied nonchalantly, but in his mind, he was gnashing his teeth, thinking he needed to see what kind of wild man could make you think about him all day long.

Qiao Song didn’t know his thoughts and was trying to figure out a good excuse to prevent the two from meeting.

“What are you standing there for? Aren’t you eager to meet the people outside?” Ling Jianshu asked.

“Let’s go.” Qiao Song gritted his teeth and decided to follow Ling Jianshu down the stairs. As long as he didn’t completely lose contact with these two, they couldn’t avoid meeting each other forever, right?

Under the big tree by the dormitory building, a short but slender and stylishly dressed boy with a baby face was sitting on a suitcase, casually chewing gum. His initially drowsy expression suddenly brightened up when he saw Qiao Song coming down the steps. A bright smile spread across his face, and a small dimple appeared, as if his whole being was radiating a huge halo of sunshine.

What a sunny and cheerful boy.

“Qiao Qiao!” he immediately stretched out his arm and waved vigorously when he saw his old friend. Their reunion was so exciting for him.

Ling Jianshu looked at the boy in front of him, and Qiao Song’s previous description of him popped into his mind—“He’s the same age as me, a few centimeters shorter, and much more cheerful. He has dimples when he smiles and gives off a very bright, sunny vibe. We both learned piano from the same teacher since we were kids…”

Seeing the real person now, he matched the description perfectly. To describe someone so precisely, it must mean Qiao Song cared deeply about him and had him in his thoughts a lot.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt like something heavy was pressing on his chest, making it hard to breathe.

Sunny and cheerful, appearance… The face wasn’t very ugly, but it wasn’t exactly handsome either. On a scale of ten, it might be at most a five.

He couldn’t help but click his tongue. How could someone like this be worthy of Qiao Song’s affection and have been silently admired for so long?

If it were the whole world admiring Qiao Song, he wouldn’t have any objections because he was indeed a perfect person deserving of admiration.

But… for Qiao Song to have a crush on someone like this, he felt that this person must be exceptionally outstanding in every way to deserve his attention.

Meanwhile, Qiao Song, seeing his long-lost friend, quickened his pace and walked over.

Xia Zhe jumped down from the suitcase and opened his arms for a big hug, holding him tightly as if he wasn’t going to let go for a while.

“Qiao Qiao, I missed you so so so so so much!!” he said playfully with a hint of coquettishness.

“Alright, alright, stop being so mushy,” Qiao Song said with a helpless tone, but clearly indulgent of Xia Zhe’s behavior.

Ling Jianshu felt increasingly annoyed. The longer he watched, the more displeased he became. How long were they going to hug? Were they going to hug forever? Tonight, he would make sure Qiao Song changed his clothes from top to bottom.

His actions were faster than his thoughts. He reached out and grabbed Qiao Song’s arm, pulling him back from Xia Zhe’s embrace.

“Ling Brother? You’re still here?” Qiao Song turned with surprise to look at him.

Ling Jianshu’s already sour mood darkened further. What did “You’re still here?” mean? Did he not notice his presence at all?

Well, it made sense; when someone you like comes back, you would focus entirely on them. He sneered.

“Should I be leaving?” His eyebrows lifted slightly, with a mix of playfulness and dominance.

“Aren’t you busy with something? I won’t keep you.” Qiao Song waved him off.

It was clear he wanted him to leave.

“Aren’t you going to introduce us?” Ling Jianshu raised his chin.

“Ah, this is my childhood friend, Xia Zhe.” Qiao Song gestured.

“This is my roommate, Ling Jianshu.” he glanced at him and added, “Ling Brother, you don’t need to be polite. If you have things to do, just go. I’ll properly introduce you another day.”

Ah, repeatedly trying to chase him away, Ling Jianshu felt a surge of frustration. He huffed and really decided to leave.

Before leaving, he suddenly remembered something and turned around to give Qiao Song a big hug, which made him feel a bit more balanced and at least gave Qiao Song a proper “disinfection!”

Qiao Song was taken aback by this unexpected gesture, standing there puzzled, not understanding what was going on.

Xia Zhe leaned in close to his ear and softly laughed, deliberately teasing, “Is this the ‘other idiot’?”

“Xia Zhe!” Qiao Song frowned and shot him a look.

Seeing that he was genuinely upset, Xia Zhe quickly apologized, “Sorry, sorry, just kidding. It’s my mistake. So, this is the straight guy?”

“Xia Zhe, what’s wrong with you? You just got back to the country and haven’t even reached home yet, and you’re already here to see me? Not concerned about me, but worried about others?” Qiao Song skillfully shifted the topic.

Xia Zhe could tell that Qiao Song didn’t want to talk about the other man anymore. Though he was concerned, he didn’t want to upset him further and decided to drop the subject.

On the other side, Ling Jianshu, who seemed to have already left, was actually hiding around the corner, crouching down to minimize his presence with his 1.9-meter tall frame.

He watched the two people standing there, still chatting and laughing after he left, their mood unaffected. Then, he saw Xia Zhe’s face getting closer and closer to Qiao Song’s, almost as if they were about to kiss from his perspective.

His fists clenched tightly, and he felt he had been extremely patient. Fortunately, Xia Zhe straightened up and moved away from Qiao Song’s cheek.

Otherwise, he knew he would have rushed out without hesitation and punched the guy in the face.

No, he couldn’t…

He gritted his teeth. After all, this was someone Qiao Song liked.

If he really punched him, Qiao Song would be heartbroken, and not just over that person, but might even blame him…

This was someone Qiao Song had a crush on.

Thinking this, he,slammed his fist against the wall.

The pain in his knuckles seemed to clear his mind a little.

Was it like this? No, Qiao Song wasn’t that kind of person!

Their friendship was golden, how could it be overshadowed by someone like this?

Qiao Song was now his best friend. He frowned. A mere crush would never be able to disrupt their relationship!
