My Sisters are Strange

Chapter 55

Even though the distorted expression as if looking at an impregnable enemy was not directed at me, my body was trembling with fear.

As I began to tremble, Viola urgently covered my shoulders and whispered lowly.

“Don’t worry. I’ll protect you.”

My surprise quickly subsided as if there was magic in Viola’s words.

And I quickly remembered what I should say in this situation.

“No, Sister.”

I slightly pushed my sister, who was holding me, and threw my eyes over the window.

There were more demons running around and attacking people than I had seen in my dreams.

People were getting hurt, and among those running away and shouting for help, brave knights were seen fighting against monsters.

And Viola was the one who had to stand at the center of them and protect the people.

“I am safe here. So you have to save the people outside.”

“…”

At my words, Viola clenched her fist.

With a troubled face, I once again opened my mouth to change her mind.

“Sister. I don’t like neglect of duty.”

“Ha.”

Viola smiled as I spoke softly.

She grabbed me by the shoulder, made eye contact, and said in a straight voice.

“I’ll be back.”

“Please come back without getting hurt.”

Viola grinned at my words as if she had no worries at all.

The rare smile was full of confidence.

“Sir Theodore. I’m sorry, but I’ll ask you to take care of Daisy.”

“I was going to do it anyway. Daisy is one of the people who needs to be evacuated.”

“Please.”

Viola moved quickly as soon as she finished talking.

Perhaps it was a waste of time to go down the stairs, she stepped on the railing of the terrace and threw herself into the air without hesitation.

“Oh my!”

When I ran in surprise, I couldn’t help but be surprised in a different sense.

“Wow.”

Forgetting the situation, I opened my mouth and admired it.

Viola jumped over the body of a demon and cut off the demon’s head with a single movement.

Then she ran relentlessly to the side and began to kill the demons who attacked people.

“It’s dangerous, so step back.”

I nodded to Theodore’s words, but couldn’t take my eyes off it.

The ruined street was no different from the scene I saw in my dream.

No, the reality was worse than that.

“Don’t look.”

As I couldn’t take a step forward, Theodore came up to me and covered my eyes.

After a large hand covered my eyes and darkened the surroundings, various thoughts began to dig into my head.

I realized that there was a limit to what I could change no matter how hard I tried.

‘If I had been more active, I could have prevented that disaster.’

What should I do when I see the future?

There was nothing I couldn’t do, so an endless feeling of helplessness enveloped me.

“Damn it.”

With an urgent voice, Theodore grabbed me by the waist and jumped back lightly.

An unbelievable sight unfolded before my eyes, accompanied by a loud sound.

The wide terrace collapsed and debris was falling to the floor.

The wall was torn down, revealing the previously invisible street.

The First Prince and Iris….’

There was a lot of blood splattered on the hem of the two people’s fancy clothes.

“Daisy! Move back!”

“Lady! This way!”

Isabel, who had been avoiding me first, hurriedly pulled me in.

‘Hold on. Did they catch the culprit?’

This dream only showed the part where the incident happened.

So unlike my previous dreams, I couldn’t figure out what happened after that.

Theodore was standing in front of the torn wall, cutting down the demons that jumped high toward this side.

Isabel breathed a sigh of relief as he attacked quickly while maintaining his balance on the collapsing floor.

“Lady, I’m sure the Knight will protect you. Let’s stay here and make sure we get out safely.”

Even in this scary situation, I saw a hand desperately clenched tightly as if to protect me somehow.

‘Sorry, Isabel.’

I pushed her hand out with my other hand.

“Lady?”

“Wait a minute. Just a minute.”

In this crowded situation, I was the only one who could immediately recognize who the criminal was.

Heretics had to be caught in order to prevent aftereffects.

“No, Lady. Dangerous, it’s dangerous!”

“It’s fine. It only takes a moment.”

There was clearly an alley ahead where suspicious people appeared and disappeared.

Thanks to the collapse of the terrace, I could find them better than in my dream.

I only had to take a few steps to see it, so I forced my fearful body to move.

I crawled toward the wall.

“Daisy! What are you doing there!”

I stuck my head outside, paying no heed to Theodore screaming in shock.

And, as I thought, I saw suspicious people in robes appearing one by one from the alley.

They were running away in the commotion, naturally intermingling with people.

“Robes! Catch the people with robes!”

I shouted at Viola, who was moving faster than anyone else.

She raised her head at my words and shouted in an urgent voice.

“Daisy!”

It was only when I saw her distorted expression, as if the world had collapsed, that I realized that a large shadow had fallen over me.

A gruesome cry came from under my nose.

I couldn’t even lift my head up and hardened in that state.

‘Ah, ah.’

As soon as I was prepared for the pain to come without even being able to turn my head, the wolf’s feet twitched and hovered in the air.

‘What?’

The monster’s expression seemed somewhat full of tension.

As soon as I thought so, the demon, who had stopped, suddenly moved his feet.

Swoosh–

A huge foot landed in front of me as I was kneeling, and at the same time, the floor began to collapse.

“Daisy!”

“Lady!”

This time, I was startled by Theodore and Isabel’s voices coming from behind, so I closed my eyes tightly.

The moment I shuddered at the sensation of falling down and prepared for pain, I felt a dull rebound as if I had fallen into someone’s arms.

My body froze at the familiar scent beyond my closed eyes.

“It’s dangerous.”

My heart leaped even harder because I was startled by the friendly voice.

I slowly opened my eyes in fear, and made eye contact with the person who caught me.

“Adelio.”

The distinctive cool aroma lingered on the tip of my nose.

In this chaotic situation, I was so dumbfounded that I felt relieved.

“P-Please drop me off.”

“Can you stand?”

“I am fine. I’m not hurt….”

Now I could see a lot of blood splattered on Adelio’s clothes.

It was clear that the temple urgently provided support because of the demon’s attack.

“I’m fine, so go ahead and help others…”

I could see my hand shaking pathetically as I pushed Adelio away.

Why do I only show such a weak side in front of this person? My expression was blurred by the loss of helplessness and self-esteem that was eating at me again.

Adelio covered his hand over mine and laughed.

The laughter that didn’t match the disastrous situation sounded calm as if to comfort me.

As I slightly clenched my fist to let go, he started gently caressing my cheek with his other hand.

‘Come to think of it, I must look terrible now.’

I didn’t want to show my mess, so I tried to avoid his face, but he grabbed me by the wrist.

Nevertheless, the touch that caressed my cheek was as soft and careful as silk.

“I’m glad Daisy doesn’t get engaged.”

At Adelio’s words, I realized that I had never gone to see him after my engagement had been broken.

I belatedly felt apologetic that I couldn’t tell him directly because I was trying to get my mind together.

“I’m sure you’ll meet a better person.”

Every word he said was sincere.

I recalled what he told me on the dark night.

‘Don’t get engaged to the Prince.’

The moon that hid behind the clouds as if was conscious of us, the cool scent felt close by, and the voice that I desperately longed for.

And a crumpled expression.

Why did I remember that night in such an urgent situation?

“Daisy, you don’t deserve to be treated like that. I don’t want you to be heartbroken.”

“…Were you worried about me?”

“Of course.”

With a neat answer, his hand moved towards my back.

After cutting down the monster that was trying to attack us, he turned around and said to me before leaving my side.

“Daisy. I’ll answer your question then.”

“…”

“I didn’t want to see anyone else standing next to you. I didn’t think I would like it if anyone did.”

Behind his kind smile, the sword had no hesitation in cutting down monsters.

At the light flowing from his sword, someone shouted.

“It’s holy power!”

“It’s the holy knight! I’m alive!”

The white light bloomed from the cruel scene of blood splattering spread widely, perhaps with the intention of giving hope to everyone.

He was shining more than anyone else at this moment, to the point that he could be called the most beautiful and strongest of God’s creatures.

I remembered the rough sound of my heart ringing in a place where the moonlight was hidden at night.

The sound of throbbing as loud as that filled my ears.

I put my hand on my chest.

I felt a rough vibration, as if asking me to recognize myself.

Ah.

I was now able to realize my feelings that I had completely denied.

I like Adelio.

No, I love him.

It was a sweet yet sad feeling that didn’t fit this situation.
