Chapter 93: Chapter 91: I Might Have Opened a Fake Mangekyō
"Where is he now?" Haru asked directly about Uchiha Fugaku's location.
With only a few hours left before the Uchiha clan launched their coup, every second counted if they wanted to stop it.
If Fugaku was truly willing to side with him, Haru would be more than happy to meet him.
"Follow me."
Uchiha Itachi nodded, signaling for Haru to follow him.
Haru naturally had no reason to refuse, but as he followed Itachi, he activated his Byakugan.
When he had killed Danzo, his Wood Clone had used this ocular technique, so there was no need to hide it from Itachi.
After a short while, Haru followed Itachi to a well-hidden small wooden hut.
Although they were within the Uchiha district, no one had noticed their presence.
With his Byakugan, Haru was certain of this.
"My father is inside," Itachi said, turning around. "We don't have much time."
As the head of the Uchiha clan, if Fugaku disappeared from the clan's sight for too long at this critical moment, it would raise suspicions.
Itachi's implication was that he hoped Haru would keep the conversation brief.
"Understood," Haru responded promptly.
The village was on the brink of war with the Hidden Cloud Village. Even if the Uchiha clan were to die, they should die on the battlefield.
With that thought, Haru quickly stepped forward and pushed open the door to the small hut.
The interior had no windows, and the light was dim.
However, with his Byakugan activated, Haru immediately spotted Uchiha Fugaku, who was sitting on the only chair in the room, his hands clasped together, his expression grave and filled with worry.
Itachi followed Haru inside. "Father, Haru is here."
"From the Senju clan," Fugaku murmured, his eyes flickering with surprise as he saw Haru.
From what he knew, the lost kekkei genkai of the Senju clan was the Wood Release.
The Byakugan was the ocular technique of the Hyūga clan. How did Haru possess the Byakugan?
However, this surprise quickly faded. Unlike the Uchiha, the Senju clan, under the leadership of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, had encouraged intermarriage with other clans in the village.
It was possible that one of Haru's parents was from the Hyūga clan.
"Was it you who convinced Uchiha Itachi?" Fugaku asked, his voice low as he stood up from his chair.
"Not exactly," Haru replied, glancing at Itachi. He could feel the pressure emanating from Fugaku.
Even now, Uchiha Fugaku was a kind-hearted ninja who genuinely wished for peace in the village.
The coup was not his true intention; he had simply been swept along by the demands of his clan.
This was also why Itachi's revelation had affected Fugaku so deeply.
However, Haru was well aware of something else.
Fugaku claimed he wanted to meet Haru, but his true intention was likely to weigh the pros and cons.
If Haru's answers or demeanor disappointed him, Fugaku's heart would firmly side with the clan.
"Itachi is an exceptional ninja. Even without me, he would have sided with the village," Haru said.
Hearing Haru's praise for his son, Fugaku felt a sense of pride.
'That's my son.'
But pride aside, even if he could understand Itachi's decision, in the eyes of the clan, Itachi was still an outsider.
If Itachi hadn't revealed the truth earlier and told him that he and Haru had killed Danzo together, Fugaku wouldn't have chosen to meet Haru here.
"Haru, let me ask you this: Can someone from the Uchiha clan not become Hokage?" Fugaku's voice was low, and though he posed it as a question, he didn't wait for Haru to answer before decisively activating his Sharingan.
In the next moment, the three tomoe in Fugaku's eyes spun, transforming into the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Most members of the Uchiha clan excelled in fire release and genjutsu, and Fugaku was no exception. The moment he revealed his Mangekyō, Fugaku immediately cast a genjutsu on Haru.
With the Byakugan, Haru's vision covered a 360-degree field of view.
There was no way he could escape the genjutsu.
"Don't worry, Itachi," Fugaku quickly explained, concerned that his son might misunderstand. "I don't intend to harm Haru. I just want him to see the future if the coup were to happen."
"That's just your speculation," Itachi replied without hesitation. As someone who possessed the Tsukuyomi, he knew very well that no genjutsu could predict the true future.
The world Fugaku showed Haru through his genjutsu was nothing more than his own wishful thinking.
If the coup were to happen, the village would be bathed in blood, and the Hidden Cloud Village would take advantage of the chaos.
But just as Itachi activated his Mangekyō, ready to counter Fugaku's genjutsu and free Haru from this unrealistic illusion, both he and Fugaku heard Haru yawn.
Fugaku: "???"
Fugaku stared in shock as Haru stretched lazily, showing no signs of being under a genjutsu.
"How… is this possible…" Fugaku stammered, struggling to form a complete sentence.
Even if he wasn't a genjutsu prodigy like Shisui, the genjutsu he had used was at the Mangekyō level.
This power was even capable of controlling the Nine-Tails.
Yet, on Haru, it had no effect at all?
"I'm immune to genjutsu," Haru said, his gaze fixed on Fugaku's Mangekyō. His stare was so intense that it made Fugaku question his own abilities.
'Did I really activate the Mangekyō? Did I really use a Mangekyō-level genjutsu?'
Haru's eyes didn't waver, not even blinking. Fugaku could clearly see that Haru was indeed staring directly at his Mangekyō.
"Can't answer?" Haru shook his head, a look of disappointment on his face.
"Let me tell you what will happen, Fugaku."
"Once the coup begins, the Uchiha district will be surrounded by both the Anbu and the Root. Blood will flow, and corpses will litter the ground."
"Not just the able-bodied men of the Uchiha clan, but even the elderly, the weak, women, and children will be slaughtered."
As he spoke, Haru deliberately glanced at Itachi. "Do you really want to see that? Itachi, forced to raise his hand against you, his own father, and his mother?"
"Even Sasuke might be killed."
"Itachi will live the rest of his life in agony. Is that really what you want, Fugaku?"
Haru took a deep breath. "Face the facts, Fugaku. You don't have the strength to oppose the village."
"In fact, it wouldn't even take the Anbu or the Root. Just me and Itachi alone could wipe out the entire Uchiha clan."
"You and Itachi…" Fugaku stared at the young Senju in front of him, taking a long time to recover from his shock.
"You think we lack strength?" Fugaku shook his head. "You're the one who doesn't understand."
"Do you know why we've been ostracized by the village?"
