My Servant System

Pulling more and more of the air around us down towards my nose, I parsed through it for any information at all before just picking what intrigued me the most and heading towards it, leading the Demon Wolf towards whatever it was.

Of course she had to comment on this and make all of this even more difficult then it needed to be, especially since she walked either right beside me or just behind me, which was most definitely on purpose.

"So whatcha find for us, not so little pup? Monsters? People? Something burning down in the middle of nowhere?"

The amusement in her tone as she just marched through this sea of bluish grass was grating, even more so since I could feel her gaze dropping down towards my butt whenever she fell a step behind me; it wasn't with carnal desire like I had expected, but there was definitely still lust in her gaze, and that was more than enough to keep my body warm.

"A lack of monsters, to be specific. Surely someplace inside of this trial space that is devoid of both monsters and animals would be of significance? And if it proves to be the nest of the monster we just walked away from... well, at least we can mark its location and come back later."

"Sure... A start is a start, no matter how odd."

I glanced back at her and glowered a little at the airy tone she took, catching a smirk on her lips as she raised a brow, like she was daring me to challenge her over something so stupid like where we should start searching.

Letting out a soft growl I just turned back and ignored her, only to be drawn back into the uncomfortable situation that was us being here alone as she asked "Oh yeah, how are you gonna deal with that Nymphomania or whatever now that you're here? Can you go a few days without a good fuck?"

"You should've thought of that before you dragged me in here..."

That clipped sentence from me earned me a cuff to the back of the head and the Demon Wolf growling "Well don't blame me you dumb bitch. Always coulda said no or asked for a trial that had three people in it. Brought that other pup to rail you whenever you needed it."

There was frustration lingering beneath her growl, but I didn't give a damn about it as I just stared back at her, earning myself another quick smack before she walked a little in front of me, her nose twitching as she stole my role and began to guide us instead.

"And if I had said no, you would have just dragged me in here anyways."

"No, I wouldn't have. Believe it or not, you big titted slut, I do have a heart and a conscience alongside a moral compass. Are they looser and less well kept? Sure, but they are there, so shut the fuck up and lament it yourself..."

That quick flare to anger didn't catch me off guard, but what did was the pang in my chest as she glared back at me before huffing as she put a little more distance between us, the conflicting emotions of anger and regret confusing me a little.

Swallowing down the bile inducing concoction I managed to say "Lets... try and not be at one another's throats this whole time, yeah? Start over, start fresh...", which earned a noncommittal grunt from her as she just kept walking.

At first I was considering leaving the silence as is and just dealing with it, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that was a bad idea, so even though she seemed against communication now I still opened up a dialogue, even if it was just to help pass the time.

"Arguing helps nothing, and the fact of the matter is that we are here, with just the two of us. So we need to work together to ensure nothing happens and we get out of here alive. To that regard I think more... friendly communications are in order?"

Even though her body language was rigid and brimming with barely contained irritation, she still glanced back at me with a slight sneer and waited, watching me closely like I was some fascinating piece of prey that had dared to attract her attention.

"I appreciate you wanting to come into a trial with me and that you have shown restraint thus far. Going forwards I would appreciate this same level of restraint, and in return I will attempt to restrain my own displeasures as well to ensure this is amicable."

For a few seconds that silver eye just searched my face, tracing out every inch of it and making blood rush towards my cheeks as I shied away from her, earning a snort as she rolled that eye and muttered "Fan-fucking-tastic." before just turning back ahead.

At first I thought this was over with and I was going to eventually need to bite my tongue off to wash away the dishonor that would be thrust upon me, but she eventually said "You talk like a fucking Noble... not some future Pack Leader... Leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see how far we've fallen."

Before I could retort she sighed and added "Whatever. Don't flower and butter your words up, pup. Speak straight, true and honest and I'll respond in kind. Honesty will always be sharp and hurtful, so don't be surprised if I hurt your feelings or some shit. Deal with it."

Her little spiel made me blink a few times, and before I even really knew what I was doing I muttered "Gods you sound old...", which caused me to freeze as I watched her slowly turn back towards me, that silver eye ablaze with... something.

"The hell did you say?"

Lady Fenyras' eye was swirling with myriad emotions, and soon the air around her was charged with that same concoction that stifled everything between us, sending shivers down my spine and making my fur stand on end as the looming shroud of death seemed to creep ever closer.

I swallowed down my fear and prepared to repeat what I had said, only to blink a few more times as she just snorted and turned back around, the somewhat menacing aura that had shrouded her evaporating as she just said "Keep being witty and sarcastic, it suits you better then speaking like some snot nosed, silver spoon brat. Now c'mon, let's pick up the pace."
