Chapter 74: Treasures and Snatchers: Level Three (8)
Treasures and Snatchers: Level Three (part 8)
Those monster who were rare and bear attribute qualities were rarest in this specific part of the continent and those who could be find in second or third continent were insanely powerful for hunting so when a rare monster was spotted here, the Guilds and the traders would fight for it no matter what.
The high-level hunters were their biggest source of trading in the Middletown so they don't want to displease them at any cost.
Qiao and his team decided to wander in the market and see if they could find an informative booklet.
"It will be best if we go and take a look today, tomorrow we will be busy whole day in hunting so it won't be convenient." Linwin added, he was excited to learn more about those things which they usually got as spoils.
"Wait, if we do find the booklet it surely would be expensive. So how we are going to pay for it?" Quipu stopped them and asked. His nature was more of practical type and he usually kept note of things which Qiao rarely speak about.
Why Qiao never bother to speak about transaction matters because he had little to no interest in accumulating abundant wealth and show off. If it were like that then he would not have used his spoils and let Linwin buy a weapon of his choice.
Linwin also had different than usual personality. He was enthusiastic about learning new things, increasing levels and follow the orders of brother Qiao in all situations no matter if his own life was in danger. It has been a whole three months since he left his house. In the first two months he was bullied by senior chasers and later he met brother Qiao. His luck changed for better since then. After observing and judging his character, he strongly decided to follow him for the rest of his journey of levelling up.
While Qiao has already different choices, for decisions he would still never ignore those two who were willing to walk with him with their trustable character. "Worry not, we will accumulate our leftover spoils and pay for the booklet." Qiao waved his hand. Both looked at him and nodded, indeed there was nothing to worry about.
When they left the Guild, Qiao saw the new team member walking around, his premonition said that there was something amiss.
So he faced Linwin and Quipu, "It is not that I am worried for anything nor can we just always chose to flee in danger or remain hidden thinking that the enemy is standing on the door. What I wanted to advise you both is that never ever disclose what you have and decide emotionally. Remember emotions are not going to work and can be misleading."
He vaguely voiced and both tried to understand although it was perhaps too vague for them yet. Still they chose to follow.
If the rich brat has not given up or the pearl which he got after reckless hunting has much more value than he could imagine, then he would be bothered any time soon. Now they were heading toward the Middletown market area and after the vague notion Linwin and Quipu were expecting some adventure or trouble.
When they entered through the entrance gate, they were welcomed by crowds of customers. It seemed today was a special day for shopping for various weapons or stuff. Their team asked many wanderers and shops but none had that booklet and like that they reached the last shop which was one of the oldest shop perhaps in the Middletown. Many old wanderers suggested to visit this shop so they were here. Before they enter in the shop, they were stopped by angry Zura.
He was following them from the very moment they entered in the market but chose to stay calm until he knows what they were doing here. And now that he has a clear understanding he stopped. There was no reason for them to look for such booklet unless they found something really precious and what could it be other than that pearl.
Thinking this, he stopped them right away.
"Hand it over to me silently, and I won't harm you instead let you go and won't keep the grudge anymore." He grimly warned. He was not alone here; his team was also glaring at trio. They were sure to take it whatever means they have to use. But the problem and little surprise was standing behind, the new team member who was with them in the morning. Quite a fishy surprise at this moment.
"What if I don't?" despite taking care, the man was still sharp enough to find out that Qiao got the treasure. This means his purpose was never to become a part of their team. "Then you will be the biggest fool of this continent in my eyes, can't you see there is no way around, can't you see my whole team is here and also with just one wave I can bring all those workers from my bigger shops." His mocking and authoritative tone left a deep resounding.
"So, this is how you built your business." Qiao also mocked him in the same tone. The matter of forcefully snatching treasures were never reported because chasers who cannot keep the treasure usually chose to handover to the Guilds and accepted the better-quality weapons in return. They were less worried about future achievements when their present was under threat.
Qiao was thinking about his future, near future actually. If a treasure was helpful in anyway, he won't use it on petty things and keep for bigger hunting opportunities. So, he was unwilling to give up.
"Shut up you beggar." Zura shouted and gestured his team to surround them and snatch it. This was what he was master at, he could show off his strength and then snatch whatever he thinks should be taken with force and no matter if he has to use his family name.
