My Hero Academia: Thunder God

Chapter 230: Chapter 229: Batgirl

Kaminari's proposal was enthusiastically supported by the two girls. After all, the idea of experiencing real-life Pokémon battles felt both magical and dreamy.

"By the way, you could actually create some Pokémon-like intelligent robots and build a massive venue where people can experience the thrill of 'battles'!" Kyoka suggested with a smile as she walked alongside Momo and Kaminari.

Hearing her suggestion, Momo and Kaminari paused, exchanging a knowing look.

"Pokémon Battle Park!"

The idea flashed through both their minds simultaneously. However, Kaminari hesitated slightly before saying, "It's a great idea, but something on such a large scale would require years of investment for our family to realize."

"I'll ask my father about it," Momo said calmly as they resumed walking. Although the Yaoyorozu family primarily dealt in jewelry and precious metals, they were also one of Japan's leading names in construction projects.

"Collaboration could be a good approach..." Kaminari mused as they walked through the plush red-carpeted hall.

"If we can't monopolize it, we might as well bring in collaborators. After all, we hold the copyright for Pokémon…"

Although Kaminari had never been an entrepreneur in his previous life, he understood that most business ventures required cooperation to succeed.

"Aaah~~"

Just as they were about to delve deeper into the topic, a small fox with a sleek brown body and six fluffy orange tails hopped down the wide staircase leading to the second floor. It ran straight to Momo and affectionately rubbed against her slender calves.

"Pica, Pica!"

Before anyone could say anything, Pikachu, perched on Kaminari's shoulder, jumped down curiously and tilted its head to study Vulpix.

"Wow, this is kind of touching…" Kyoka exclaimed, her face lighting up with excitement.

"Yeah, it really feels like Pokémon have crossed through the dimensional barrier and come to life," Kaminari agreed, nodding as he watched the scene.

Although they all knew that both creatures were powered by artificial intelligence, they unconsciously ignored that fact.

In their eyes, these weren't robots—they were 'Pikachu' and 'Vulpix.'

"By the way, what exactly are this 'Vulpix's' abilities?"

Though Kaminari had provided the initial concept and design, he hadn't been involved in the development process and was genuinely curious.

"This…" Momo's eyes twinkled with amusement as she scooped up the obedient Vulpix in her arms. Smiling, she replied, "It would be boring to just tell you. Didn't you suggest a battle earlier? Why don't we find out during the match?"

"OK!" Kaminari readily agreed.

"But where should we do it? Outside in the yard?" Kyoka asked, glancing at Pikachu and Vulpix with undisguised envy.

"The venue…" Momo thought for a moment before summoning the butler who had been quietly standing nearby. "How long would it take to transform the indoor basketball court into a Pokémon battle arena?"

"Please wait a moment, miss. I will need to assess the requirements for such a venue," the tall, white-haired butler replied respectfully. Clicking his Rolex watch, a small light-blue holographic screen appeared before him.

After about a minute, he lowered his arm and said, "Miss, if it's a basic arena without simulated environments, the transformation should take approximately forty-five minutes."

"Great, please have it done as soon as possible," Momo instructed.

Then she turned to Kaminari and Kyoka with a smile. "How about we go to the concert hall and practice some songs while we wait?"

"...Alright," Kaminari and Kyoka agreed, though they couldn't help but marvel again at the sheer wealth of the Yaoyorozu family.

---

"By the way, Kyoka, what kind of Pokémon would you like?"

As they followed Momo down a luxurious corridor toward the concert hall, Momo turned back and asked Kyoka.

"Huh?" Kyoka froze for a moment, confused by the sudden question. "What do you mean by 'what kind of Pokémon'?"

Kaminari, too, was caught off guard.

Smiling warmly, Momo explained, "Didn't we talk about making Pokémon robots earlier? I'd like to give one to you."

"This… this feels too much…" Kyoka stammered, pursing her lips as she tried to decline. It felt overly generous.

"It's nothing. We're not just classmates, we're bandmates!" Momo reassured her.

She added, "But I should mention that the materials used for 'Vulpix' and 'Pikachu' are somewhat unique and hard to source now. So the Pokémon I give you might not be as advanced in some ways."

"I don't mind that at all. It's just…" Kyoka hesitated, her face conflicted. While she genuinely wanted a Pokémon of her own, receiving it as a gift felt overwhelming. She briefly considered offering to pay for it.

Though her family wasn't as wealthy as Momo's, they could still afford a robot. But she didn't want to diminish Momo's gesture of goodwill.

Incidentally, the 'Batgirl' battle suit that Kaminari had designed for her had been fully funded by her family. Yet she remained deeply grateful to Kaminari because ideas, designs, and connections—like Dr. Tenma's involvement—couldn't simply be bought with money.

"Kyoka, if I remember correctly, your birthday is on August 1st, right?" Kaminari suddenly asked.

"Yeah." Kyoka nodded, still unsure where he was going with this.

"In that case, Momo can give you the Pokémon as a birthday gift. You wouldn't refuse a birthday present, would you?" Kaminari suggested with a grin.

"That's a great idea!" Momo agreed enthusiastically.

"...Alright, then," Kyoka finally relented, moved by their sincerity.

"Now, our dear princess Kyoka, what kind of Pokémon would you like?" Kaminari teased playfully. Momo also stopped to look at her expectantly.

"I… I need some time to think," Kyoka murmured, embarrassed by the attention. She began mentally sifting through the countless Pokémon she knew.

After a while, her face lit up, and she declared, "How about a Supersonic Bat?"

"A Supersonic Bat?!" Kaminari and Momo exclaimed simultaneously, clearly surprised by her choice.

"Why a Supersonic Bat? Didn't you just say earlier that Jigglypuff was cute?" Momo asked, puzzled.

"Jigglypuff is cute, of course, but…" Kyoka glanced shyly at Kaminari and muttered, "But I think a 'Batgirl' would look better with a Noivern by her side."

Kaminari froze, momentarily stunned by her reasoning. Was this why? For a moment, he couldn't help but feel that Kyoka's feelings toward him might be more serious than he had thought.

"Still, Batgirl and Noivern do make a great match!" he admitted with a smile.
