My Hero Academia: The Legacy of Lost Numbers

Chapter 53: The Determination and Decisions

As Toshinori sat with Shoya and Ken, enjoying their meal, the atmosphere shifted when Gojo Satoru arrived in his typically eccentric fashion.

Gojo: "Oh, my cute daughter, where are you?" he shouted, walking in with exaggerated steps.

Kaori: "Dad, please don't embarrass me in front of everyone." She buried her face in her hands, clearly flustered.

Before Gojo could continue, a swift hand landed on his head.

Daniel Park: "You damn idiot, today's a day of celebration, and you're acting like a kid, Satoru!"

Gojo: "How did you strike me? I was using my infinity!"* he said, completely bewildered.

Daniel, smirking, tapped his temple. *"This is Ultra Instinct, you knucklehead."*

Before their banter could escalate, a deep voice echoed through the room, silencing them both.

"Enough of this."

Everyone turned to the source of the voice, and Ellen gasped in surprise.

Ellen: "Dad?"

Diego: *"Hello, sweetheart. I'm happy for you."* His eyes softened as he looked at his daughter with pride.

Toshinori clenched his jaw as memories of the past resurfaced. "Diego…" he thought, his mind racing. Diego was the reason he had distanced himself from Ellen before. His presence stirred up old emotions and worries. "Is he here to make me repeat history again?"

As Deku approached Diego, Daniel, and Gojo, he greeted them with a formal yet friendly tone.

Deku: "Diego, Daniel, Gojo—it's good to see you all. Thank you for coming."

Diego, with a confident smile, nodded. "It's been a while, Midoriya. Seems like you've been handling things well."

Daniel gave a slight bow, his calm demeanor evident. "Always an honor to be here, Deku."

Gojo, with his usual carefree attitude, added, "You know I wouldn't miss this for anything. Plus, I heard the excitement levels were going to be off the charts."

Deku smiled, appreciating their presence. "With everything that's happening, your support means a lot. We're facing threats beyond what we've encountered before, and I'm glad we're all on the same side."

After that Toshinori left from there and Diego noticed that.

Diego: Looks like i really hurt you both, I'm sorry Ellen for this.

Ellen: Dad somewhere I'm also effected by past but please accept him as he is the only one with whom I want to spend my life with.

Diego: That time i don't want him to spoil our Lineage because he was qwerkless but now he is Devil, I don't know what should I do.

Diego sighed deeply, looking at his daughter with a mixture of regret and uncertainty. His stoic façade faltered as the weight of his past decisions pressed upon him.

Diego: "Ellen, I made those choices back then because I thought I was protecting our family, our legacy. Toshinori... back then, he seemed weak, without a quirk. I didn't want that to define us. But now... he's so much more."

Ellen's eyes softened as she stepped closer to her father.

Ellen: "Dad, Toshinori may have been quirkless, but he never lacked strength or determination. And now, after everything he's been through—he's more than just the Devil. He's become someone who bears the weight of his past and moves forward. I love him, and I want you to see him for who he truly is now."

Diego looked down, his hands tightening into fists as the conflict within him became clear.

Diego: "I see that he's changed, Ellen. But it's not just about power or status. It's about... everything I thought our family stood for. I was wrong to think being quirkless made someone less worthy. But now he's a Devil, and I don't know what that means for him... for us."

Ellen placed a hand on her father's shoulder.

Ellen: "You don't have to decide right now. I just want you to give him a chance. He's still Toshinori, and he's the one I've chosen to be with. You don't have to understand everything today, but I need you to trust me."

Diego sighed, his tough exterior breaking for a moment as he nodded slowly.

Diego: "For you, Ellen... I'll try. But it's going to take time. I can't undo what I said or how I acted back then, but I'll start by trying to see him the way you do."

As Ellen smiled with relief, Diego's expression remained serious. He turned his gaze toward the door where Toshinori had exited.

Diego: "He's been through a lot, hasn't he? I never imagined he would become so powerful... and yet, here he is. But there's a part of me that still wonders... can he handle the weight of what it means to be part of this family?"

Ellen: "He already has, Dad. He's stronger than you think."

Diego nodded, looking at his daughter with pride and a hint of sadness. He knew he couldn't undo the past, but maybe, just maybe, there was a way forward.

Meanwhile, outside, Toshinori stood alone, staring out at the horizon. The wind rustled through his hair as he clenched his devil arm, deep in thought. He felt conflicted about Diego's presence, unsure of what the future held for him and Ellen now that her father was back in the picture. But one thing was clear: he wouldn't back down. He'd earned his place, and nothing—not even Diego—could make him doubt that.

As Toshinori turned back toward the gathering, determination filled his eyes. He would prove, not just to Diego, but to himself, that he was worthy of the life he had built with Ellen.
