Chapter 41: The Remainings of Fallen Kind
At the Imperial Hero Association of Europe, the atmosphere was tense as everyone prepared for the upcoming battle.
Toshinori: [standing tall, addressing the group] "So, it's settled. We're heading to Stonehenge to stop All for One and his plans."
Ken: [crossing his arms] "We need to tighten England's security as well. It's clear he has bigger plans for the country. He won't just stop at Stonehenge."
James: [nodding confidently] "Leave the security of England to me. I'll deploy the forces necessary to keep everything in check. I'll make sure there's peace while you focus on the threat at Stonehenge."
Deku: [glancing around at everyone] "Alright, then. Stonehenge is where we take action. We can't let All for One succeed."
As the group cautiously reached Stonehenge. Bakugo, ever the skeptic, surveyed the scene. "Well, there's nothing here," he said dismissively, though the eerie surroundings gnawed at him.
Ken's gaze, however, pierced deeper. His Dragonic eyes glowed faintly as he scanned the area. "I can't agree with you there," he said quietly, his eyes narrowing as he reached out and touched a seemingly ordinary stone embedded in the wall. With a rumble, a secret passage revealed itself.
Shoya couldn't help but smirk. "As expected from 02, nothing can hide from those dragon eyes."
Shoto, ever the one to take action, looked around at the others. "So, what are we waiting for? Let's go."
They descended into the hidden passage, the walls lined with ominous carvings that seemed to tell stories of ancient battles and forgotten creatures. The silence was broken only by their cautious footsteps. As they ventured deeper, the flickering light from Ken's flame lit their path, casting strange shadows on the walls.
Suddenly, they entered a large chamber. The sight before them stopped them in their tracks—rows and rows of skeletons, some towering, others curled in pain, but all of them unmistakably inhuman.
Ochaco's voice trembled. "What...what are those?"
Ken's fists clenched tightly as rage flared in his eyes. His whole body tensed as he recognized what lay before them. "Those bastards," he snarled through gritted teeth, the fury rising in his voice. "How dare they."
Shoya's usually calm demeanor darkened. "These aren't just any skeletons... they're specimens." He took a step closer, recognizing the scale and structure of the remains. "They were Dragons and Titans. Our kind."
The realization dawned on everyone—this was a sacrificial ground, an experiment site where their kind had been captured, tortured, and killed. It was a brutal reminder that even the mightiest beings could be reduced to mere tools for cruelty and power. Ken and Shoya, bound by their connection to these ancient races, felt the pain of their lost brethren.
Deku's heart sank as he surveyed the scene, his thoughts inevitably turning to Toshinori. He wondered if his son had been subjected to the same cruelty, experimented on by the hands of the League, molded into a weapon just like the bones that lay before them.
Ken's voice trembled with barely contained rage. "We need to find who did this... and make them pay."
As Ken stood there, seething with rage at the sight of his fallen kind, Camie gently placed a hand on his shoulder. Her tone was calm, though laced with concern. "02, I know you're angry. But don't carry all of this on your shoulders. We're here to help."
Ken's jaw tightened, his gaze locked on the skeletal remains. "Thank you, Misses Bakugo," he replied, his voice strained. "But these are my people. Even though I became a dragon through experimentation, they were innocent. All For One disrespected us by doing this."
Nearby, Shoya clenched his fists, staring at the massive Titan skeletons. "These Titans... my kind. How dare he."
Momo, watching her son from a short distance, knew how deeply this sight affected him. She wanted to offer him words of comfort but understood that this wasn't the time for her to interfere directly. "03," she called softly. "I know this is hard, but try to calm yourself."
Meanwhile, Ochaco's eyes fell on Toshinori. She saw the fire in his eyes, a quiet but intense anger building inside him. "01, what's on your mind?" she asked gently, sensing the storm brewing within her son.
Toshinori's expression was calm, but his voice carried a steely determination. "Well, Misses Midoriya," he replied, using a formal tone, "it looks like we need to act more diligently. We can't let this go unanswered."
Toshinori took a deep breath and looked at both Ken and Shoya with a calm resolve. "02 and 03," he said, his voice steady. "I won't interfere with this. But I trust you both know what's necessary."
Ken and Shoya exchanged a glance, their mutual understanding unspoken but clear. Without a word, they stepped forward, facing the rows of skeletal remains. This was their moment to honor the fallen.
Ken's eyes glowed fiercely as he unleashed his power. "Dragon Breath!" he roared, releasing a wave of intense flame that engulfed the dragon skeletons, the fire burning bright and fierce.
Beside him, Shoya summoned his strength, his voice booming. "Divine Judgment!" A powerful burst of energy shot forth from his hands, enveloping the Titan skeletons in blinding light.
The two attacks merged, their energies intertwining, and in moments, the ancient remains were reduced to ashes, carried away by the winds of time.
Ken lowered his hand, a heavy silence settling over the chamber. "This is the best we can do," he said quietly, his rage tempered by solemnity.
Shoya nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at the ashes drifting through the air. "To honor our kind," he echoed, his voice filled with a deep reverence.
As the Parents exited the chamber, a heavy silence hung over them. The parents exchanged glances, each grappling with their own thoughts.
Bakugo broke the silence first, his usual gruff tone softened by concern. "He said his kind," he muttered, thinking of Ken. "It's like he's already forgotten he was human in the first place."
Shoto, walking beside him, sighed deeply. His eyes were distant, his thoughts consumed by Shoya's pain. "Shoya... I wish I could do something for him," Shoto said quietly. There was a weight in his voice, the guilt of a father who wished he could protect his son from the cruelty of the world but knew this was a burden Shoya had to bear on his own.
Camie, always the one to break tension with a gentle nudge, approached Bakugo. Her usual lighthearted tone was gone, replaced by something more tender. "Katsuki," she said softly, "I know you're worried about Ken. He's changed, but he's still your son. He may say 'his kind,' but deep down, he hasn't forgotten where he came from. He just needs time."
Momo, standing beside Shoto, placed a hand on his arm. Her eyes were full of understanding as she spoke. "Shoya is going through something none of us can fully understand. But he's strong, just like you. We'll find a way to reach him, even if it takes time. He knows we're here for him."
Ochaco joined the conversation, looking to Izuku. Her voice was filled with worry, but also a quiet strength. "Izuku, Toshinori is trying to be strong, but I can see how this is affecting him. We need to be there for him, even if it means giving him space. He's not alone in this, even if it feels that way."
The mothers shared a glance, their collective concern for their children unspoken but understood. They knew that no matter how strong their children had become, they still needed love and support to guide them through the darkness that surrounded them.
