My Hero Academia: The Legacy of Lost Numbers

Chapter 29: The Field Trip

The next day, Izumi was casually strolling through the UA dorms, her usual confident demeanor radiating from her every step. She was completely unaware of what was about to happen. Suddenly, Ellen appeared in front of her, her face a mask of controlled fury. Before Izumi could react, Ellen grabbed her by the collar and slammed her against the wall, pinning her there with surprising strength.

Ellen: "Why did you do that?! He was your brother, and you made him suffer this much!"

Izumi's eyes widened in brief shock but quickly narrowed. A smirk spread across her face as she realized what this was about.

Izumi: "So, Izana finally told you the truth. But it doesn't matter because you can't do anything about it."

Ellen's frustration was palpable. Her grip on Izumi tightened, and her voice shook with barely suppressed rage.

Ellen: "I will find a way to tell the truth to your parents. They need to know what you've done."

Izumi's smirk widened into a full grin, her confidence undeterred by Ellen's threat.

Izumi: "You can try if you want, but we've already made sure that all the proof from the past is gone. There's no way you can save that monster."

The word "monster" hit Ellen like a slap. Her eyes blazed with anger as she glared at Izumi.

Ellen: "Don't you dare call him that! Toshinori is not a monster!"

Izumi's expression remained unchanged, mocking and cruel.

Izumi: "He's nothing but a devil, a freak that doesn't belong in this world. No one will believe you, Ellen. We've made sure of that. And if you keep digging, you'll only get yourself into trouble."

Ellen's frustration and anger boiled over, but she knew she couldn't lose control now. She had to be smart about this. She took a deep breath, her grip on Izumi loosening slightly but still firm.

Ellen: "You're wrong, Izumi. The truth always finds a way out. And when it does, you'll pay for what you've done. You and the others."

Izumi laughed lightly, as if Ellen's words were nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

Izumi: "We'll see about that, won't we? But until then, I suggest you mind your own business, Ellen. It would be a shame if you ended up in the same position as Toshinori."

Ellen's eyes narrowed, but she didn't let go. She leaned in closer, her voice low and dangerous.

Ellen: "You can threaten me all you want, Izumi. But I'm not afraid of you. And I won't stop until everyone knows the truth about what you did to him."

Izumi's grin faltered slightly, just for a moment, before she quickly recovered her composure.

Izumi: "Good luck with that. You'll need it."

Ellen finally let go of Izumi, pushing her away as she did. Izumi straightened herself up, smoothing out her clothes as if nothing had happened, and walked away without another word.

During class, the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation. The students were all chatting among themselves, speculating about what the day might hold. Shinso, their teacher, walked in with his usual calm demeanor and cleared his throat to get their attention. The room immediately fell silent as everyone turned to listen.

Shinso: "Alright, everyone, listen up. I have an important announcement to make. We'll be going on a field trip soon."

The room erupted in whispers and excited chatter. Field trips were always something to look forward to, and the students were eager to hear more.

Shinso: "This isn't just any field trip, though. You'll be learning essential survival skills from one of the best in the world—the No. 7 Hero, Kota."

The class erupted into cheers and excited exclamations. Kota was a hero known for his incredible survival skills, and the prospect of learning from him was thrilling for most of the students.

Ellen: "No way! We get to learn from Kota? This is going to be amazing!"

Kaori: *"I've heard he's trained in some of the harshest environments. This will be such a challenge!"*

Shinwa: "I wonder what kind of exercises we'll be doing. I'm up for anything!"

As the excited chatter continued, two students sat quietly, not sharing in the enthusiasm. Shoya and Ken exchanged a knowing glance, both of them clearly less than thrilled by the news.

Shoya's thoughts: Survival skills, huh? Been there, done that. This will be more like a refresher than anything else.

Ken's thoughts: Surviving in the jungle for years... this trip will be nothing compared to that. But I guess it'll be interesting to see what Kota can teach the others.

Shinso noticed the lack of enthusiasm from Shoya and Ken but chose not to address it directly. He knew their backgrounds and understood why this might not seem as exciting to them as it did to the others.

Shinso: "I expect everyone to take this trip seriously. You'll be learning skills that could save your life one day, so pay attention and do your best."

The class nodded in agreement, their excitement still palpable. Ellen noticed that Shoya and Ken weren't as excited as the rest and leaned over to Shoya.

Ellen: "Aren't you excited? We're going to learn from Kota, one of the best!"

Shoya gave her a small smile but shrugged.

Shoya: "It's not that I'm not interested, Ellen. It's just that... well, I've already had to use survival skills before. This is more of a review for me."

Ken, overhearing the conversation, nodded in agreement.

Ken: "Same here. I lived in the jungle after escaping from the lab. Surviving out there wasn't exactly a choice, it was a necessity."

Ellen's eyes widened slightly, realizing that both Shoya and Ken had much more experience in survival than she had thought.

Ellen: "Wow, I didn't know that. I guess this will be pretty easy for you guys, huh?"

Shoya chuckled softly.

Shoya: "Easy, maybe. But I'm sure there's always something new to learn."

Ken: "Yeah, and besides, it'll be interesting to see how the others handle it."

As the group continued to ascend the mountain, the students were visibly struggling. The terrain was steep, and the sun was relentless, making the climb even more grueling. Sweat dripped from their brows, and many of them were panting heavily, their legs aching from the continuous upward trek. The fact that they weren't allowed to use their quirks made the journey even more challenging, forcing them to rely solely on their physical strength and stamina.

Ellen: "This... is... brutal!" she panted, wiping sweat from her forehead. "I didn't think it would be this tough without my quirk!"

Kaori: "Tell me about it," she replied, taking deep breaths. "I'm used to using Infinity to make everything easier. This is a whole different level of exhausting."

Meanwhile, Shoya and Ken were having an entirely different experience. Due to their Demonic Physiology, they were completely unfazed by the climb. Their breaths were steady, and their movements were smooth and effortless. It was almost as if they were on a leisurely stroll rather than a strenuous mountain ascent.

Shoya glanced over at Ken with a smirk.

Shoya: *"Well, 02, what do you think? How's the climb treating you?"*

Ken shrugged, a hint of boredom in his voice.

Ken: *"Honestly, 03, this is nothing compared to what we've been through. I could've spent this time sparring with Izana or 01, but I guess this isn't the worst way to pass the time. At least we're outdoors."*

Shoya chuckled, agreeing with Ken's sentiment.

Shoya: *"Yeah, it's not bad. We could easily fly up to the top if we wanted to, but Mr. Shinso made it clear that we're supposed to rely on our physical abilities for this one."*

Ken: *"True. But it's kind of amusing watching everyone else struggle. Makes you appreciate what we've been through."*

They both exchanged knowing glances. Their experiences had hardened them, and physical challenges like this were more of an annoyance than anything else. However, they understood the importance of following the rules, even if the task was far below their capabilities.

As they continued to climb, Shoya and Ken noticed the growing frustration and fatigue among their classmates. The group's pace was slowing, and the complaints were starting to become more frequent.

Yujin: *"How much longer do we have to go? My legs are killing me!"*

Kazama: *"I didn't sign up for this! I thought we'd be using our quirks, not doing this old-school physical training!"
