My Hero Academia: The Legacy of Lost Numbers

Chapter 27: The Confrontation

The house was simple but sturdy, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

Izana: "You live here? I'm impressed that you built this house on your own."

Toshinori nodded as he opened the door, letting Izana inside. "After losing my memories, I didn't know what to do, so I decided to make a home for myself here. It keeps me occupied."

Izana looked around the house, noting the handcrafted furniture and the organized space. "How did you manage to get food?"

Toshinori shrugged casually. "By hunting animals. The forest provides everything I need. Plus, it gives me a sense of purpose."

Izana admired his brother's resilience and resourcefulness. "That's amazing. You've really made a life for yourself here."

Toshinori started preparing a meal, using fresh ingredients he had gathered. "It's not much, but it's home. And it's peaceful here."

As they ate, Izana couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for Toshinori. Despite everything, his brother had found a way to survive and even thrive.

Izana: "Thank you for the food. It's really good."

Toshinori smiled warmly. "I'm glad you like it. You're welcome here anytime, Izana. This place might be small, but it's a sanctuary."

Izana nodded, feeling a deep bond with his brother. "I appreciate that, 01. I'll definitely visit more often. And maybe we can train together again."

Toshinori's eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "I'd like that. It's good to have someone to spar with. Plus, it keeps us both sharp."

After leaving Toshinori's secluded forest home, Izana returned to the dorms. As he walked through the hallway, he encountered Katsu, who was visibly angry.

Katsu: "How dare you have a new power? Were you looking down on me by not showing your true strength?"

Izana looked at her calmly, feeling a newfound confidence. For some reason, he was no longer afraid of her.

Izana: "You know, in the past, I used to think that if I went against you, you'd start bullying me like you did with them. So I stayed quiet. But things are different now. After seeing how fate robbed everything from them, I want to help them and set things right."

Katsu was shocked by his defiance. Her usual dominance seemed to waver.

Katsu: "Don't you dare to... If you do, my—"

Izana interrupted her, his voice steady and unwavering.

Izana: "Your career as a hero will be over. But I don't care. You, Shoka, and my sister have done enough damage. You don't deserve to be called heroes. You're more like villains."

Katsu was taken aback, momentarily speechless. The shift in Izana's demeanor was unmistakable. He was no longer the timid boy she could intimidate.

Katsu: "You'll regret this, Izana. You think you're strong now, but you're nothing compared to us."

Izana stood his ground, his eyes reflecting determination.

Izana: "We'll see about that. I'm done being afraid. It's time for a change, and I'm starting with you."

After his confrontation with Katsu, Izana decided to call his mother, Ochaco. The phone rang a few times before she answered.

Ochaco: "Oh dear, what's happening? It's unusual for you to call me."

Izana took a deep breath, preparing to relay the news.

Izana: "Mom, I met Toshinori. I saw how he's currently living."

Ochaco was shocked, as no one had been able to find out where Toshinori was living.

Ochaco: "Please tell me, son, where is he?"

Izana explained the situation, detailing how Toshinori had been living in the forest for the past three years, away from the city, and surviving by hunting for food.

Izana: "He's been living in the forest, Mom. He built a small house out of wood and trees. He's been hunting for his daily survival."

Ochaco's eyes welled up with tears. The thought of her youngest son living in such harsh conditions while she and Izuku lived in a big mansion was heart-wrenching.

Ochaco: "Oh my god, my son is living such a miserable life."

Izana: "Mom, we need to help him. He doesn't remember anything, but he's still Toshinori. He deserves better than this."

Ochaco, still tearful, nodded through the phone.

Ochaco: "You're right, Izana. We need to bring him back home. Thank you for telling me. We'll do everything we can to help him."

Later that evening, Izuku returned to the mansion and immediately noticed Ochaco crying.

Izuku: "Ochaco, what happened? Why are you crying?"

Ochaco, wiping her tears, tried to compose herself.

Ochaco: "Izuku, we need to talk. It's about Toshinori."

Izuku's heart sank. The mere mention of his son's name brought a mix of emotions—guilt, sadness, and longing.

Izuku: "What about him? Did something happen?"

Ochaco took a deep breath and relayed the information Izana had shared with her.

Ochaco: "Izana found him. Toshinori has been living in the forest for the past three years. He built a small house out of wood and trees and has been surviving by hunting for food."

Izuku's eyes widened in shock, and his hands clenched into fists.

Izuku: "He's been living like that? Why didn't we find him sooner?"

Ochaco: "I don't know, Izuku. But he needs our help. We can't let him continue living this way. He's our son."

Izuku felt a surge of guilt. The thought of Toshinori enduring such a harsh life while he was supposed to be the world's number one hero was unbearable.

Izuku: "You're right, Ochaco. We need to bring him back home. We need to make things right."

Ochaco nodded, her eyes still filled with tears.

Ochaco: "We'll go to him tomorrow. We'll bring him back, and we'll make sure he knows he's not alone."

Izuku embraced Ochaco, holding her tightly as they both processed the gravity of the situation.
