Chapter 14: The Regret and Sadness.
In their room, Izumi, Katsu, and Shoka gathered, their expressions a mix of jealousy and fear. The recent events had left them unsettled and envious.
Izumi: "Can you believe how strong they've become? It's insane. We used to bully them, and now they're like gods."
Katsu: "It's not just that. They're terrifyingly powerful. If they remember their past, we're screwed. How did they become so strong while we were just... weak?"
Shoka: "I can't believe we underestimated them. They're stronger than anyone could've imagined. It's infuriating."
Izumi: "And what if they remember everything? They'd come after us for sure. We have to make sure that doesn't happen."
Katsu: "They're already scary enough with their current powers. If they regain their memories... it'll be a disaster for us."
Shoka: "We need to find a way to keep them from remembering. Maybe then we can keep our positions and not be overshadowed by them."
In the quiet aftermath of the battle, as Shoya and Ken left for their dorms, their parents gathered, their faces etched with regret and sorrow. They remembered the chilling prophecy from the fortune teller and how it seemed to have come true.
Izuku: "I can't believe it. The fortune teller's prophecy was right. We've lost so much. Our sons, the ones we should have protected and cherished, are now distant strangers."
Ochaco: "It's like we were warned, but we didn't listen. Now, they don't even remember us, and we're left with nothing but regrets."
Bakugo: "We were so sure of ourselves, thinking we could control their futures. I told Ken that if he pursued being a hero, he wouldn't be my son anymore. I was so blind."
Camie: "And I... I pushed him away too. I thought it would make him stronger, but now I see the error of my ways. He's not even the same person anymore."
Shoto: "I remember telling Shoya that if he chose to be a hero, he would be on his own. I was so focused on my own goals, I didn't consider the consequences for him."
Momo: "We all failed them. We were so focused on our own paths and didn't see how we were pushing them away. Now, they don't even remember us."
Izuku: "I remember what the fortune teller said, about a chosen one from each family losing everything. I didn't take it seriously at the time, but it's happening now. It's true."
Ochaco: "We didn't realize how important that prophecy was. It's so clear now. We failed to protect them, and now they're suffering."
Shoto: "I keep thinking about that day during the Quirk Test. We told them we wouldn't consider them our children if they chose to be heroes. How could we have been so harsh? And now they don't even remember us."
Momo: "I always tried to talk to them, to be there for them, but they pushed me away, thinking they could handle everything on their own. I was so worried, but they never let me in."
Bakugo: "I regret not being more understanding. We pushed them away when they needed us the most. And now we've lost our chance to make things right."
Camie: "It breaks my heart seeing Ken like this, and thinking of Toshinori… We should have fought harder to be there for them."
As they thought about Toshinori, who had nearly lost everything, their guilt deepened.
Izuku: "Toshinori's condition… I can't believe how much he's suffered. We didn't fight hard enough to keep them safe. We should have protested more, been more present."
Ochaco: "If only we had been more supportive, maybe things would be different. We could have prevented this."
The weight of their regret and the harsh reality of the prophecy loomed heavily over them. They were left contemplating their failures, the missed opportunities, and the pain of watching their children suffer while they felt powerless to change the course of their fate.
Kaori, her voice trembling, spoke through her tears:
Kaori: "I remember when I was with Shoya as a child before moving to the US. I used to protect him, and now... now he's like a stranger. He doesn't even remember me. It hurts so much because I loved him for who he was."
Shinwa, equally devastated, tried to steady her voice:
Shinwa: "I can't believe Ken turned out like this. He was the only one who didn't treat me like royalty but as a real person. Seeing him now, so powerful and yet so distant... it's terrifying. I never imagined this would be our reality."
Kaori wiped her tears and took a deep breath:
Kaori: "We need to do something. We can't let them stay like this. Our pain and the way their parents are suffering is too much. We have to find a way to make them remember their past, remember their families."
Shinwa nodded resolutely, determination replacing her earlier despair:
Shinwa: "I agree. Their parents have gone through so much, and it's heart-wrenching to see them in such agony. We need to figure out how to break the seals or whatever is blocking their memories. If we can help them remember, maybe we can mend some of the pain and reconnect them with their families."
Shinwa took a deep breath, determination in her eyes.
Shinwa: "I will join UA as the daughter of Daniel Park, the No. 1 hero of Korea. With my highly destructive royal quirk, I can easily make an impact and stay close to them. If I can be in their environment, I'll have a better chance to help them remember their past and address the pain their parents are going through."
Kaori nodded, impressed by Shinwa's resolve.
Kaori: "That's a great idea. Having you at UA will give us an edge. We can work together to find a solution and help them reconnect with their families. Let's make sure we do everything we can to heal the wounds and restore what was lost."
Shinwa and Kaori sat together, pondering the next steps.
Shinwa: "We need to think about Toshinori too. His situation is dire, and it might be beyond our abilities alone to help him."
Kaori: "I agree. There's someone who could potentially make a difference—our friend Ellen. Her quirk, Gates of Heaven, is incredibly powerful. It could give us the edge we need to support Toshinori."
Shinwa: "But there's a complication. Ellen is in Russia, and she has a history with Toshinori that wasn't exactly positive. I'm not sure if she'll be willing to help, especially with their past."
Kaori: "True. The past between them might make her reluctant to assist. But we need to reach out. If there's a chance she could help, we have to take it."
Shinwa: "Alright. I'll contact Ellen and see if we can persuade her. Even if it's difficult, we have to try for Toshinori's sake. We owe it to him and to all of them."
