My Daddy Hides His Power

Chapter 13

‘Give me the rhyme. James Brown.’

I spoke with my eyes. However, the heartless father suddenly gave a crybaby look.

“What should I do? Dad doesn’t like vegetables.”

 “Ung?”

 This traitor!

I tried to prove that my dad wasn’t bad at raising children by pulling the power of powdered milk!

“If Dad was being attacked by Count Broccoli every day, my princess ate it and saved me, right?”

 It’s a lie!

I had no choice but to lower my trembling hands when I saw my dad raising his cheeky eyebrows.

“Ey kid, you can’t eat broccoli, right?”

“It’s all right, Lilith. Broccoli tastes really bad.”

“N, no! I eat broccoli well! It’s delicious!”

I said no to my twin brothers.

The water has already been spilled.

Eventually, I closed my eyes tightly and put the broccoli in my mouth. When crunching and chewing, I felt a unique taste and vivid texture.

 ‘Ack! It’s not good!’

But I couldn’t show that I ate it by force. I mumbled incessantly.

 “Pft.”

 “…This guy.”

For some reason, my aunt and grandfather were laughing.

As expected, I was relieved because he seemed proud of me.

 ‘Yes, it’s about broccoli—’

Count Broccoli was brutally slaughtered in my unbiased, brave mouth.

 “Phew.”

It was a perfect victory for me.

After eating, my head started to spin well.

The butler, Uncle Rem, introduced me to two maid Unnies. (t/n: I just put Unnie here because that’s what Lilith calls them, and it’s weird to call them sister. So I will use Unnie, depending on the situation.)

“These are maids who will take care of you. The young Lord is in custody from today—no, I mean he won’t be able to come out of the office. Are you all right?”

 “Yes!”

 I answered bravely.

Dad would naturally be busy working after being away for seven years.

 I understand.

“Jetty and Jun are veteran maids who overcame a 50 to 1 competition and became the Lady’s dedicated maid.”

 “That’s right!”

 The brown-haired maid interrupted excitedly.

“I am Jetty, Lady. I took first place in the bath water temperature setting, drawing, and snack making tournaments, proudly claiming the position of the Lady’s dedicated maid. Here, Jun and I are sisters. I am the older sister.”

 No, even a tournament—?

I blinked my eyes, and Jun, the Unnie with ponytail hair, also raised her arms and introduced herself.

“I am Jun! I holds the record for 47 push-ups, 55 sit-ups, and 1 overall in the 3-meter long jump in place. Trust me, I will take care of Lady with all my heart!”

Why do you need something like that to take care of a 7-year-old kid—?

I couldn’t understand, but I politely bowed to the Unnies.

“Nice to meet you. Jetty Unnie, Jun Unnie.”

 “Oh my.”

 “Uh. Lady.”

Jun hugged me softly, lifted me, and sat me in her arms.

‘Ugh! Truly No. 1 in the physical fitness test!’

She’s skinny, but I don’t know where the strength came from.

“Lady, why are you so small and cute? Yes?”

“Look at your chubby cheeks…It’s like flour dough. I think it will flow down.”

Jun and Jetty hugged me and trembled wildly.

“Now, now! Stop, guys. That’s enough of your greetings. I’ll let you know your schedule for today.”

 Rem said with a smile.

“The Great Master has ordered Lady education from today. Teachers will come from ten in the morning—”

Rem smiled awkwardly, blurring the end of his words.

He seemed sorry to tell me to study a day after coming to the capital. But that’s what I hoped for!

 I answered bravely.

“Yes! Uncle Rem, I can study. I’ll do well. I’ll do my best.”

“Oh, my. I’m proud of you, too. How can you look like the young Lord’s childhood days….”

Rem, who was still in memory, took out his handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped his tears away.

“Today is the first day, it’s probably just a light introduction and the will not give you difficult classes. Do not worry too much. And I heard you have an appointment with Lady Ordia in the afternoon?”

“Yes! Aunt decided to show me around the capital with brothers!”

“I see! Then, after class until 2nd period, have lunch, and after finishing the rest of the class—”

Rem quickly began to write down my schedule, which was not much in my notebook.

“You two can help Lady get ready to go out!”

 “Yes, butler!”

 “Leave it to me!”

The Unnies gave their answer with determined looks on their faces.

 * * *

The teachers sent by my grandfather stuck with me.

Grandfather was most likely trying to help me adapt to the aristocratic society about which I knew nothing previously as quickly as possible.

‘Well. I guess he noticed that I didn’t even know table manners?’

Anyway, it was fortunate for me.

Even after reading novels, I didn’t know the details of the etiquette of aristocratic society.

 However, an unexpected problem arose.

“Now, look. There are two apples here, right? But two apples came out one more time, byong!”

The social studies class in the 1st period was well worth taking—.

 2nd class, math.

Yeah, math was a bit of a problem.

“Then there are four apples, right?”

 The teacher is Countess Lena.

Contrary to the strict impression of her red hair, Mrs. Lena was a very kind person.

 “2 times 2 equals 4!”

 “Wow.”

I let out a dry exclamation.

“There are two apples here with one more, so what is the total if there are three more?”

Mrs. Lena took two more apples out of the basket and put them on the table.

 “2 times 3! 6!”

Leon, who was sitting next to me, answered instead.

 Mrs. Lena sighed.

“Young Master, you should let the Lady answer. The Young Master knows everything.”

“Yeah, Leon. Lilith don’t interrupt your studies. You promised to stay quiet when came to see the class.”

Theo, who was reading a book next to him, scolded Leon like an adult.

 ‘I’d rather you disturb me….’

I sighed and grabbed the pen.

Actually, what I needed was a liberal arts study such as etiquette, so it was quite embarrassing to take other subjects.

25 years in the past, 7 years in the present. I can’t believe I’m solving multiplication problems for elementary school students at the age of 32—.

 “It’s too hard, isn’t it?”

 “Yes.”

But the average seven-year-old must find it difficult to multiply.

Because it was Mrs. Lena who was surprised when I said that I had already done addition and subtraction—.

“Then what is 2 times 4 and 2 times 5? Do you want to solve it? It’s okay to be wrong.”

 “Yes…”

“Kid, do you want me to teach you?”

 “Young Master, you can’t!”

“Leon, I told you don’t bother her?”

I suddenly felt nervous in the middle of all the noise and chaos.

‘Now is not the time for me to be like this.’

I was a person with a lot to do.

 And first of all—.

 ‘I need to rescue Cheshire!’

Cheshire was adopted into our family in the fall of the age of thirteen.

Cheshire is now 11 years old. Therefore he should be abused by the Marquis of Onyx for another two years, given the age gap with my dad.

 ‘I can’t. Let’s save our Chesire!’

I had to help so Daddy could find the Cheshire a little faster.

 However, to do that—.

‘There is someone I need to find.’

The head of the information guild, who becomes my dad’s assistant after a few years.

As long as I find him ahead of time and make him my side, everything in the future will be easier, not just saving Cheshire.

‘I have to sneak out to meet that person, right?’

However, under the guardian’s watch, a seven-year-old’s body was limited in too many ways.

But what do you mean all I do is solve math problems in the study room!

‘Ah! It’s annoying! I have already memorized multiplication up to the 19th level and have it in my head!’

When I started to get annoyed by the reality that it was not as easy as I thought, I played with my pen.

 “P, princess?”

 “Yes!”

When I heard a bewildered voice, I immediately came to my senses, and as I looked up, Mrs. Lena looked surprised.

“H, how did you do this?”

Her mouth was shaking for some reason, and she glanced from behind her glasses as if she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

 “Yes?”

 What are you talking about?

 “Wow, kid, you’re really smart?”

“Did you solve it without even calculating it?”

It was only when Leon and Theo pointed to the desk and said something that I was surprised.

 ‘Oops, I was doing multiplication?’

When I looked down, I saw the answer sheet I had written in my head by mistake.

No way.

 What happened?

Mrs Lena is definitely— I think she explained the principle of multiplication and then told me to solve only 2 times 5.

‘But did I do it all the way to the 19th level?’

It was a catastrophe caused by a different wind on the outside and inside.

I swallowed my saliva and slowly opened my eyes. Then I saw Mrs. Lena with suspicious eyes.

‘Wow, I’m doomed. How do I get out of this situation?’

It’s only been two days since I arrived in the capital.

But the child, who was hiding the secret, was in a great crisis.
