Chapter 14: Ep 14 - A Fatal Misunderstanding
The sky was overcast the next day, mirroring the turmoil brewing between Jimin, Taehyung, and Yoongi. Jimin tried to act as if everything was normal, but Taehyung's confession from the night before kept replaying in his mind. He didn't want their friendship to change, yet he also knew that those feelings couldn't simply be ignored.
That afternoon, Taehyung approached Jimin in the practice room. "Jimin-ah, do you have a moment? I want to talk again."
Jimin hesitated for a second but then nodded. "Sure. What is it?"
Taehyung took a deep breath before giving a small smile. "I know you already gave me an answer last night, but I still want to try. At least, give me a chance to make you see me as more than just a friend."
Jimin felt conflicted by Taehyung's persistence, but before he could respond, Taehyung stepped closer and, without warning, pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"T-Tae!" Jimin gasped, immediately stepping back. His eyes widened in disbelief. "What are you doing?"
Before Taehyung could explain himself, the sound of footsteps echoed from the doorway. Jimin turned and saw Yoongi standing there, his expression unreadable—his eyes filled with a mixture of shock and something else, something that looked an awful lot like pain.
Yoongi didn't say a word. He simply stared at them for a moment before turning on his heel and walking away.
Jimin's heart dropped. "Hyung! Wait!"
He rushed after Yoongi, leaving Taehyung frozen in place. "Jimin…" Taehyung murmured softly, but Jimin was already too far to hear him.

Jimin caught up with Yoongi in the hallway, grabbing his arm to stop him. "Hyung, it's not what you think."
Yoongi turned to face him with an expression so cold that it sent a chill down Jimin's spine. His dark eyes were like shards of ice, unwavering. "What do you think I'm thinking, Jimin?" he asked, his voice dangerously quiet—so soft yet sharper than any yell. "Don't take me for a fool. I saw what happened."
"Tae just—" Jimin started, panicked. But Yoongi raised his hand, cutting him off before he could explain.
"Don't force me to hear an excuse I don't want to hear," Yoongi said, his tone calm but lethal. "If you choose to defend him, do it without involving me. I should've known better than to let myself hope for more."
The words cut Jimin deeper than he expected, and the cold, detached look on Yoongi's face made it hurt even more. Jimin tightened his grip on Yoongi's wrist, refusing to let him go. "Hyung, I'm serious. What you saw wasn't what you think it was. Taehyung is just impulsive, and I don't have anything going on with him."
Yoongi closed his eyes for a brief moment, as if holding something back. When he opened them again, they were even colder than before. "I need time, Jimin. Don't look for me."
With that, he gently but firmly pulled his hand away from Jimin's grasp and walked off.
Jimin stood frozen in the hallway, watching helplessly as Yoongi's figure disappeared down the corridor. It felt like his entire world had just collapsed without warning.

That evening, Jimin returned to the practice room with heavy steps. He had no idea how to fix this misunderstanding or how to make Yoongi listen to him. When he opened the door, he saw Taehyung still there, sitting in front of the piano with a guilty expression.
"Tae," Jimin called out weakly.
Taehyung turned to face him and immediately stood up. "Jimin-ah, I… I'm sorry. I acted without thinking. I didn't know Yoongi hyung would be there. I just wanted to express my feelings, but I ended up making everything worse."
Jimin let out a long sigh. "Tae, I told you last night—I can't return your feelings. And now, because of this, I might lose Yoongi hyung too."
Taehyung lowered his gaze, guilt written all over his face. "I'm really sorry. I'll talk to Yoongi hyung and explain everything."
"No," Jimin cut in quickly. "This is between me and him. But I hope you understand that impulsive actions like this will only make things more complicated."
Taehyung nodded slowly, swallowing the lump in his throat. "I promise I won't do something like that again."
Jimin gave him a small pat on the shoulder before leaving the room. He knew this wasn't just about explaining things to Yoongi. He needed to face his own feelings and make things clear before it was too late.

That night, Yoongi sat at the edge of his dorm bed, staring at his phone screen. There was a message from Jimin he hadn't opened yet, and he knew Jimin was trying to explain what had happened. But the ache in his chest made him hesitate to read it.
He let out a slow, heavy sigh and placed his phone aside. Deep down, he knew he couldn't run from this forever.
But for now, he just wanted to be alone.
That night ended with everyone trapped in their own thoughts, with no clear resolution in sight. And just like the gray clouds hanging over the sky, the unresolved conflict continued to loom over them.
