My Blood Legacy: Reincarnated as a Vampire

Chapter 445: The fight continues

"Splendid, Valentina Scarlet," Mary Rose declared with a macabre smile, even with half her face disfigured by the devastating meteor explosion.

Chaos reigned around them. The ground lay in ruins, burned and corroded. The destruction was so vast that even the air seemed saturated with lethal energy. Yet Mary Rose stood tall, like a menacing shadow amidst the calamity.

"I will never forget you," she added, her voice dripping with irony.

Her face was partially burned, grotesque black and red lines streaking across her once pale skin. Even so, her eyes gleamed with a mix of pride and triumph. Valentina's body lay still, her chest pierced by an unseen attack, while a dark, corrosive energy emanated from the wound.

Mary smiled, triumphant, her mind consumed by the flawless strategy she had devised.

"Stealing Fenrir's power was essential... She never realized the spell was imbued with the Energy of the End."

That energy, capable of erasing matter itself, had been the key to her victory. When the meteor exploded, the corrosive essence infiltrated Valentina's body like a lightning strike, nullifying any chance of regeneration and intoxicating her being with a destructive force.

Mary Rose stepped forward, her footsteps echoing on the cracked earth as she observed Valentina's defeated form. "Everything turns to dust in the face of true annihilation."

However, a movement on the horizon caught her attention. A figure advanced swiftly, tearing through the chaos with a demonic glow.

"Hmph, and who comes now?" Mary muttered, her eyes locking onto the silhouette. It was Lilith.

The powerful demoness, wielding a colossal sword imbued with ancient energy, stormed toward her with full force. Her steps made the ground tremble, and her aura radiated fury.

"You! Mary Rose!" Lilith roared, her voice reverberating like thunder.

Mary didn't flinch. With a serene smile, she snapped her fingers, and an invisible, indestructible barrier rose before her.

"How nostalgic," Mary whispered, her smile widening even more.

Lilith paused briefly, glaring at the barrier with seething hatred. "How... how can you be this strong?"

Mary tilted her head slightly, as if mocking her. "Have the gods always been this foolish? How have you been, Lilith Origin?"

Those words cut Lilith like a blade. Origin... A distant memory seemed to echo within her, but she ignored it, focusing on her enemy.

Mary raised her hand, and a scythe materialized. It was different from her previous weapon—black as night, with red edges pulsing with sinister energy, a symbol of her newfound power.

"I suppose I've always been an unwanted child of this world," Mary continued, her voice laced with dark pride. Her aura began to shift, growing in intensity.

Lilith narrowed her eyes. "Her power... it's doubled... what kind of monster has she become?"

Wasting no time, Lilith charged, her demonic sword blazing with destructive energy. She channeled all her power into a single strike, strong enough to shatter the invisible barrier.

"I WILL KILL YOU!" Lilith screamed, her voice filled with determination and hatred.

Mary remained motionless, her smile deepening.

When Lilith's sword collided with the barrier, a devastating shockwave rippled across the battlefield. The impact was so powerful that cracks formed in the ground, and the barrier flickered briefly before shattering into pieces.

"Interesting," Mary murmured, her calm voice contrasting with the chaos around her. With a fluid motion, she raised her scythe, blocking the follow-up strike from Lilith.

The sound of their weapons clashing resounded like thunder, generating an explosion of energy that sent sparks flying.

"How did you become this strong?" Lilith demanded, stepping back and readying herself for another attack.

"Who knows?" Mary replied, her voice dripping with scorn. She twirled the scythe in her hands with precision, preparing to counter. "Perhaps because I embraced what the world rejected."

Lilith lunged again, her sword cutting through the air with brutal force. Mary blocked with her scythe, the impact sending shockwaves across the field.

"She's testing me…" Lilith realized, frustrated.

Mary, however, was lost in her own thoughts. "Fufufu... This progenitor power will be mine. I will take it."

She smiled, and with an agile move, counterattacked, her scythe creating arcs of energy that forced Lilith to retreat.

"Come on, Lilith. Show me the power you're so proud of. Show me why the gods chose you as their progenitor."

Lilith gritted her teeth, her rage intensifying. "You'll regret provoking me!"

With a feral roar, her demonic energy surged, engulfing her body in a pulsating crimson aura. Her speed increased exponentially, and in an instant, she surged forward like a lightning bolt, brandishing her demonic sword that glowed a fiery red. The strike was aimed at Mary Rose's neck—quick and precise, meant to end the battle in one decisive blow.

Mary Rose, however, showed no concern. With an enigmatic smile, she raised her black-and-red scythe, spinning it in her hands like a vortex of darkness. As Lilith's blade closed in, Mary moved with fluid grace, blocking the strike with surgical precision.

"Nice try, Lilith," she said with unsettling calm as sparks flew from the clash of their weapons. "But you'll have to do better than that."

The pressure from their weapons created a shockwave that fractured the ground beneath them. Lilith refused to back down. With a cry of determination, she pulled back slightly and attacked again, unleashing a flurry of swift and brutal strikes.

Mary Rose dodged and parried with the same ease, as though she were dancing. "You're skilled, I'll admit," Mary mocked, twirling her scythe to deflect an especially fierce strike. "But skill alone isn't enough to defeat me."

Lilith growled, her frustration boiling over. "I don't need your lessons! Your arrogance will be your downfall!"

She channeled her energy into her sword, causing the blade to glow even brighter. With a powerful leap, Lilith brought down a devastating vertical slash, her weapon radiating destructive energy.

Realizing the severity of the attack, Mary decided not to underestimate her opponent any longer. She raised her free hand, conjuring a black magic circle in the air. The circle absorbed part of the energy from Lilith's sword before dispersing the impact, though the sheer force of the blow sent Mary flying several meters back.

Mary landed gracefully, her expression now more serious. "Interesting. Perhaps you're stronger than I anticipated."

Lilith, panting, stared at Mary with eyes filled with unyielding determination. "I won't stop until I destroy you!"

Mary let out a soft laugh, though her tone carried an ominous edge. "Then come. Show me the power you think can defeat me."

With those words, Mary's aura shifted. Her scythe began to glow with an even more intense black-and-red light, and the air around her seemed to vibrate with a menacing energy.

"If it's an all-out battle you want, then that's what you'll get!" Mary declared, surging forward to meet Lilith in the center of the battlefield. Explore stories at empire

The two clashed again, their weapons unleashing explosions of energy with every strike. The ground beneath them cracked and crumbled, while the sky above seemed to grow even darker, mirroring the ferocity of their battle.

Lilith attacked with relentless fury and precision, each strike seeking a weakness in Mary's defense. But Mary continued to block and counter with calculated movements, her eyes gleaming with dangerous confidence.

"You're strong, Lilith, but your anger is blinding you," Mary taunted, deflecting a strike and slicing into Lilith's shoulder with the sharp edge of her scythe.

Lilith staggered back with a cry of pain but refused to falter. "And you talk too much!" she roared, channeling all her remaining strength into a final, desperate attack.

[Inside Albion]

When Lilith arrived on the battlefield, Valentina's body had been teleported away by magic. Now, however...

"You've been an idiot again." Morgana's voice echoed through the chamber, laden with impatience, as she watched Valentina lying there, clearly defeated. Morgana crossed her arms, her eyes glowing with a mix of frustration and disapproval.

Valentina, leaning against a worn stone wall, scoffed irritably. "Shut up, Morgana. That bitch hid an attack inside the meteor! How could I have known that?" Her voice was filled with exhaustion, but her posture remained proud, even in defeat.

Morgana didn't seem convinced. "You should have anticipated it. She's no ordinary enemy, Valentina. Honestly, I'm starting to think your arrogance will get us all killed one day."

Valentina rolled her eyes, clearly uninterested in the lecture. "Don't exaggerate. Besides," she said with a smug grin, brushing some dust off her torn dress, "I didn't even use my Vampire Count transformation. If I wanted to, that little woman wouldn't stand a chance. I'm still superior."

Morgana let out a dry laugh, but there was a dangerous glint in her eyes. Without another word, she raised her hand and conjured a magic circle. Within seconds, a hologram formed in the air.

"Oh, really? Then explain this." The projected image showed Lilith and Mary Rose locked in a fierce battle. The sound of clashing steel and magical explosions echoed through the chamber.

Valentina narrowed her eyes, focusing on the scene. "And what about it? Lilith will finish her off. The Origin always wins."

Morgana stepped closer, pointing at Mary Rose in the projection. Her voice turned serious, almost cold. "Pay attention, Valentina. Did you notice what happened while you were unconscious? This isn't the same Mary Rose you fought. Look at her. Feel the power radiating from that woman. She's twice as strong now. Maybe more."

Valentina blinked, her eyes narrowing as she analyzed the scene more carefully. Mary Rose, with her scythe glowing with dark energy, was completely transformed. Her movements were fast, precise, and each strike seemed to carry devastating weight.

"How...?" Valentina muttered, finally grasping what Morgana was trying to convey.

"I told you, you're far too arrogant for someone who was defeated so easily." Morgana scoffed, raising her hand to heal Valentina.

"Use this time to watch the battle and think of how to beat her. I'm going to retrieve that weapon," Morgana said before vanishing.
