Chapter 32: Surge Of Power
Kade felt the power of the gods surging within him, and he knew that this was the turning point. He locked eyes with Vala, a silent understanding passing between them. This was not just a battle for power or to save a planet; it was a battle for the very soul of their race. The time had come to show Radak the true meaning of Saiyan strength, the strength that came not from destruction but from unity and love.
With a roar that seemed to shake the stars themselves, Kade and Vala raised their fists into the air, their auras merging into a single, pulsing sphere of purple and white. Ragna, ever the tactician, added his own energy to the mix, a crimson beam that danced with the others, weaving in and out in a mesmerizing pattern. The three saiyan's beams grew larger, more intense, until they could no longer be contained. The power was palpable, a living entity that crackled with the promise of oblivion.
The barrier shattered with a deafening boom, sending shards of light and energy in all directions. When the dust cleared, Radak was back in his base form, his once-mighty figure now a mere shadow of its former glory. His white hair was matted with blood and sweat, and his body bore the marks of a warrior pushed to the brink. He knelt, one hand on the ground, the other clutching his chest, gasping for breath. His eyes, once filled with rage, now held a flicker of terror and disbelief.
"You... you're a mockery," Radak spat out, his voice ragged with exertion and defeat. "A worthless god and a terrible brother."
Kade felt the sting of his brother's words, but his resolve was unshaken. He stepped forward, his gaze never leaving Radak's. "I may be a god, but I fight for what I believe in," Kade said calmly, his voice a stark contrast to the chaos surrounding them. "I fight for the Saiyan legacy of protection and unity, not for the thrill of conquest and destruction."
Radak sneered, his eyes burning with resentment. "You're weak, Kade. Our legacy is one of power and fear, not playing guardian to these insignificant planets and their pitiful inhabitants."
Kade's eyes narrowed, the power within him swirling like a storm. "Our legacy is not just about power. It's about honor and protecting the innocent. That's what we were meant to be."
Radak's sneer twisted into a snarl. "Honor? Protection? Those are the lies they fed us to control us. The true Saiyan way is to conquer, to dominate! To live by the strength of our fists and the fear we instill in others!"
But Vala was not to be swayed by Radak's hollow words. She stepped up beside Kade, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "You took everything from me, Radak," she said, her voice trembling with barely contained anger. "My family, my home, my innocence. And now, you dare to question the very essence of what it means to be a Saiyan?"
Her fists clenched at her sides, knuckles white with the effort it took to keep herself from lunging at him. "You need to die," she spat, her voice laced with venom. "So that the true spirit of our people can live on, not be tainted by your twisted ideals."
Radak's smirk grew into a full-blown grin, his teeth gleaming in the flickering light of the barrier. "You think you can kill me, saiyan bitch!?" He took a step closer, the very air around him crackling with energy. "You're nothing but a flea on the back of a giant."
Kade felt the power of Radak's words, a twinge of doubt piercing his resolve. But he steeled himself, drawing strength from the love and unity that pulsed through the barrier. "You're wrong," he countered, his voice steady and firm. "Our legacy is not in destruction, but in growth. In the bonds we forge and the lives we protect."
Vala stepped forward, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "You speak of legacy, Radak, but what have you truly created?" she challenged. "Only a path of death and despair. Our legacy is here," she gestured to the united aura, "with those who stand by us, willing to die for a cause greater than themselves."
With a snarl, she launched herself at him, her legs coiling with the explosive strength of a compressed spring. Her foot connected with the center of Radak's chest, sending him reeling back. The force of her kick sent him hurtling through the air, his laughter turning into a choking cough as the wind was knocked from his lungs. He hit the ground hard, cracking the stone beneath his heavy boots. Blood spattered from his mouth, staining his teeth a sickly crimson.
Kade and Ragna exchanged a grave look, their own battles forgotten in the face of Vala's fury. They knew that this was a moment she had been waiting for, a chance to avenge the countless lives Radak had taken, including those of her loved ones. The air was thick with the scent of ozone as the barrier around them began to flicker and fade, the combined power of their fusion dissipating.
They approached the fallen Saiyan with a mix of wariness and pity, the ground trembling with each step. Radak lay on his back, his fur pelt stained with dirt and blood, his once-proud posture now defeated. His red eyes were glazed over, his breaths shallow and uneven. The skulls that adorned the remnant of his armor rattled with each ragged inhale, a morbid symphony that seemed almost fitting for the end of such a brutal warrior.
Just as Vala raised her fist to deliver the final blow, a sudden and unexpected disturbance in the air sent a chill down their spines. A blur of deep red and black streaked across the sky, casting an eerie shadow over the battlefield. The very fabric of reality seemed to stretch and warp as the figure descended, the air crackling with malicious energy.
