Chapter 110: Comprehensions
Comprehensions
Needless to say, Christopher completely mopped the floor with the cohort.
It wasn't really surprising to be honest, other than the fact that they literally couldn't hurt him, there was his plethora of new abilities that also made the battle completely unfair and one-sided the moment Christopher decided to actually try.
The thing that caught his attention the most was his new set of abilities that came with being a 4th Dimensional entity.
The way he interacted with the fabric of space and time was fundamentally different from the others and as such, he could manipulate it to his advantage in very strange ways.
It was completely different from simply using spatial magic as not only did it not require any sort of energy, but it was also far more flexible in its use.
For instance, the thing that stopped people that could manipulate space from simply making their opponents from folding in on themselves was because living beings are bound by a highly intricate spatial "blueprint" that is extremely difficult to modify. Space manipulators can fold simple objects or homogeneous materials easily, but the complexity of living organisms (due to organs, cells, and molecular structures) makes them resistant to such folding.
In short, it's complicated.
That said though a capable enough space user, someone like Kim for example, would have no problems overcoming such an issue. Though it went without saying that the stronger the opponent, the harder it would be to pull off something like that.
However, Christopher with how he was now simply did not care.
The way he interacted with 3d beings was so vast that it wasn't an exaggeration to say that he could do whatever he wanted with them.
From what he was able to tell, he would have no problems simply snatching the hearts of any of the members of the cohort and be done with it, though he wouldn't do that for obvious reasons.
He could displace limbs, distort their physical attributes. In fact, if he wanted to, he could deal soul damage to them.
Yes, due to having transcended And becoming 4th Dimensional, Christopher could observe the souls of other living beings and affect them to an extent. An extent because he notice that when he tried, there was a certain resistance that made it difficult for him to simply reach forward and grab someone's soul and break it.
He wasn't clear on the reason why, but he decided to look into it later.
Then there was also how he interacted with time as well.
For 3rd Dimensional beings, Time moved linearly. And They were bound by his flow.
The same… could be applied to Christopher, but in am odd way.
When he looked at his subordinates, he could somewhat male out what they had done, what they were doing, and what they were going to do at the same time. Meaning that he coukd observe their past, present, and future at the same time. However it was only good enough for a few seconds.
It was how a 3d being could observe everything a 2dbeing was doing all at once, the same applied to how he saw them.
However, he noticed that despite that, he still followed the… or at the very least, A natural flow of time. Meaning he couldn't just jump into the past or the future and do whatever it is that he wanted.
He was still bound by it, but he could still somewhat manipulate it to his advantage.
For instance, he could cause the groups perception of time to wither speed of pr slow down. Making it seem as though he was moving incredibly fast or not at all to them.
It was quite a strange thing. Pretty cool too, but Christopher didn't really feel at that excited about it.
After all, in the end these things only affected those that were still not at the 4th Dimension. So the moment Christopher met another Apex ranked entity like himself, these abilities would be virtually useless since they could affect the 3d plane as much as he could.
In short, it was more of a decoration than something he could truly use in his arsenal.
However, the other things that he saw that he COULD use were far more tangible and useful. And that was his ability to not be bound by the rules that governed Creation and Void. AKA existence.
He noticed that, with a thought, the passive transcendent barrier he had around himself could change from dampening the effects of attacks to simply nullifying them.
Not that the barrier hadn't been capable of doing this before. However that only worked for people weaker than his main Subordinates who had an attack potency hugh enough to at the very least, let Christopher know that they were indeed attacking him.
However, he could enhance the barrier to completely null8fy their attacks as well, making it as though he literally couldn't even feel their attacks or any of the force behind them
And that was just one aspect as well.
Christopher recalled the system telling him.that he could interact with existence on a metaphysical level.
He wasn't exactly sure as to what that meant, so he just decided to try, and the result was… interesting to say the least.
At some point, Kim had been preparing a powerful attack, and Christopher essentially just willed for her to be cut off from Space and her other affinities.
And that's exactly what happened.
Needless to say, she was both confused and shocked when her connection to her abilities suddenly vanished and she was no longer able to use them for any reason. And this restriction only disappeared when Christopher retracted his will.
And that's when he noticed something interesting again.
And that was that his will was essentially tangible.
He rubbed his chin and raised his hand.
"I want a flame." He said. And nothing happened.
He frowned slightly, and closed his eyes for a moment, then he reopened them and said.
"A flame should be here." An instant later, an orange flame appeared above his palm.
'I see. So it's not about forcing it. It's a belief. I'm imposing my will on reality, and am thus shaping it to fit my will. And so when I cut off Kim's connection to her affinities, I simply believed that she could no longer access them, and that became reality. Because that was my will.' When he had that realisation, he felt as though he had reached some sort of precipice.
It was hard to explain, but everything became…clearer.
It was subtle, yet all encompassing. His perception became more detailed and he bacem more… aware of everything. It was hard to explain, but Christopher felt like he had done something significant albeit subtle.
Now he was curious again.
Just how all encompassing was his will? What was the limit? How potent was it when he used it against other Apex ranked beings? How draining was it? Could it be defended against easily? Are there other beings that have similar abilities?
There were lots of questions and many things for him to test.
'Another thing to add to my long list of stuff I need to do.' He sighed. He imagined that this period would be his period of reprieve before he got busy again. But he was already busy just exploring his abilities.
'One step at a time.' He took a breath and let his body relax. Thinking of everything at once would do him no good. It was best to do what he could at his own pace.
'And speaking of.' He rubbed his chin.
There was another matter that had been pending for quite a while. And he decided that he should address it before anything else.

He teleported out of the training room and reappeared in another place. Specifically, it was a special forge, the same one he'd used to craft items for his subordinates in the past.
Though it was naturally far more expensive with more state of the art equipment after the enhancements it had received. In short, it was better.
Christopher casually walked to one of the workbenches inside the room and placed his hand on it, and then with a thought, several Shards appeared on the table.
Each one was vibrant and gave off a powerful Aura. And they all seemed connected to one another. This was made even clear when the Shards tried to attach to one another, but were stopped by an unseen force.
When Christopher destroyed the Void's avatar, he was surprised when the Legend Sword didn't get destroyed alongside it. And was instead shattered as it had been in the past.
He collected the Shards and allowed them to be upgraded along with his Dimension, but he hadn't really done anything with them yet.
This was because he didn't exactly need a new weapon. He already had Scarlet and Norn. And after the fight it was clear which of the weapons were superior. Plus the Legend Sword was a longsword. Though he wouldn't be surprised if it could change shape, and evening it couldn't, the wealth of combat styles he possessed would allow him to wield it effectively.
But again, he didn't really need to.
So he had kind of left it on the shelf. Though he knew he was going to have to address the issue sooner or later.
"What am I gonna do with you?" He mumbled.
