'Yep, still the best food I have ever eaten.' I thought while shoving another piece of bacon in my mouth.

The cafeteria was still somewhat empty, maybe I was just earlier than everyone else... ok I surely am earlier than everyone else, who wakes up at 6 am to eat breakfast at 8? Me.

Before I could go get another plate of bacon eggs and toast, the doors of the cafeteria opened, and a moderate amount of people came in, most of them still in pyjamas and hairs that could be considered a crime against society.

Seeing Kurt among the group I waved at him to come over, tempting him by showing him some pieces of bacon.

" How are you up this early?" He said with a rough voice, rubbing his eyes he sat in front of me stealing a piece of bacon and toast from my plate.

" Powers."

" Lucky, when did you even wake up?" He said while eating the piece of bacon as if it was the best thing he had ever had, bacon has that effect.

"At 6 am, went for a run and then smashed my fist against a tree, Logan even taught me how to throw a punch."

"... You are a monster and your powers shouldn't exist in this world." He said while looking at me with horror.

" Hater be hating."

" So? When did he wake up?" Kitty said after sitting next to Kurt, though she wasn't in her pyjamas her hair looked like a monster ready to eat both me and Kurt.

" Nice stalagmite," I said while handing her a piece of bacon, keeping her from retorting through a bribe.

" 6," Kurt told her while stealing another piece of my breakfast.

" Powers?" Kitty asked me.

" What else?"

" I despise you." Kitty joked and stole my plate of bacon.

" HEY." 

" Don't hey me, knowing you have already eaten 3 servings of breakfast."

"... Regardless that is mine."

"Not anymore." She said and then disappeared through the ground with my hand.

I looked at Kurt.

" Her powers, she can walk through things."

"... Cool, any chance you tell the powers of some other people?"

" And ruin the surprise? Not a chance, good luck." He said and then stole my toast and teleported away.

" My food," I said while looking at my empty tray, only for someone to throw an apple at it.

" Here is some fruit, you can't live on only bacon and toast." Rouge, level up in voice recognition and a point in perception, said while sitting at my table.

" Watch me," I said while biting the apple.

She smirked and then continued looking at me eating the apple, making me feel kind of jittery.

" Can I help you?"

" You said your powers protect themself right?"

" Yeah, from what I have seen they are protected from mind reading."

" Can I try something?" She said while removing one of her gloves and hinting for me to hold her hand.

" Sure?" I said while extending my hand towards hers.

The exact moment our fingers touched something unexpected happened.

That made me cringe but I didn't move away when I felt her hand grab mine with strength, her eyes fixated on it.

" Are you okay?"

" You... You are not dying."

" Well technically I am from what my powers are telling me, but they are also telling me that you have around 300 seconds, no wait scratch that, you have around 7 minutes before the damage becomes irreversible until that moment you can touch me however you want... ok that sounded bad," I said while she grabbed my hand with both of hers.

" Oh, my powers are telling me that if I keep in touch with you for long enough I can become immune to the damage you are causing me."

That made her stop right in her tracks, a single tear coming out of her eye, which made me cringe and look around the cafeteria to see if anyone had noticed, and yeah, everyone noticed the whole thing.

Kurt suddenly appeared at my side his face full of worry and trying to understand what he was supposed to do.

" Are... you ok?" He asked after seeing me completely fine and making me wonder why everyone was reacting like that.

" Yep, getting hurt a bit every second but my powers are slowly reducing the damage."

Seeing the increase in vitality I saw that I had just restored 100 HP.

" Another two minutes have been added to the timer."

That made Rogue hold my hand even tighter, and then I felt something soft, when I looked at her I saw her pressing her cheek against my hand.

" Kurt?" I said while looking at him my eyes resembling Beach's balls.

" Right, of course, you wouldn't know, Rogue can absorb people's life force, powers, and memories through touch, the longer she does the longer it will last, the first time she used it she put her first boyfriend into a coma through a kiss." He whispered in my ear.

That... explained a lot, having to constantly be scared of touching anyone, or someone even barely coming in contact with your skin must be exhausting, and the fact she caused her boyfriend to fall into a coma must have traumatized her.

After 4 minutes, another level up in the resistance, and my HP bar reaching half, she seemed to return to reality releasing my hand and coughing, her cheeks completely red her pale skin not helping to hide it.

"...Thank you." She said covering her mouth, maybe to hide a smile.

" No worries, though it didn't look like it you also helped me, so if you ever wish to do this again just ask."

And that was the last drop that made the vase pour, she got up from the table and rushed outside, though I caught what I think was a smile on her lips before she turned away.

"... Well, that just happened," I said while looking at Kurt, trying to ignore everyone's stare.

Only for Kitty to come inside the cafeteria, with an empty plate and mouth covered in grease from the bacon, looking around she noticed everyone's stare pointing at me.

" What did I miss?"
