Barrier magic is very different from anything I've ever seen.

The beginner rank barrere magic was just a shield made of mana about 2 meters high by 1 meter wide, this is capable of resisting beginner rank magic attacks but nothing more.

Intermediate rank barrier magic is almost the same but now it houses more than one person, it resists intermediate rank magic attacks as well as sword attacks of the same rank.

Also note that it is useless against fire, water, earth and natural wind so it would be of no use against fires, floods Or things like that

So this barrier is for purely mana or fencing attacks as long as they are in its range or one lower.

I can see now that I find the intermediate or advanced rank spells more useful for a closer fight while the saint rank and higher ones are for literally fighting an army.
