My mother also gave me a short sword that would serve me well right now.

I had to hold back my laughter at the sight of Dad's jealousy.

Nina on the other hand looked distressed as she had not brought any gifts.

"Don't worry, I want you to do me a favor later and I'll take it as my birthday present, okay?" I said

This made her sigh with relief and she nodded.

The night went by normally after a few speeches from my parents about how much they love me and stuff.

The celebration ended quickly, my mother cleared away the plates of food, dad went to sleep and I asked Nina to help me put my sword away in my room.

She innocently agreed and followed me to my room carrying my small sword.

I closed the door to my room and I put the big sword near a corner and my small sword I kept in my closet

"So this is your room...Kind of empty, huh?" Nina said with a smile.

"Yeah, I don't have many things to highlight here to be honest..." I replied.

Me and Nina stayed silent and I sat on the corner of the bed and Nina looked at me

Fuuu....this is my chance!!

"Hey Nina... could you grant me a request as a birthday present?..." I murmured to her.

"Hmm?...what do you want?" She said while looking at me curiously.

She smiled slightly as she looked at me.

"Great... then... I'll see you tomorrow..." She said and she gave me a kiss on the cheek and then ran off into the darkness of the night.

Shit...that happened to me today, didn't it?...but that's the first step to winning Nina's heart...
