Multiverse: The Daily Life of the Inventor in another world

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Devil Maid

The scan results for the Power of Destruction were… strange. It was clear that I was going to need multiple circles just to begin understanding what I was reading.

The results defied scientific logic. The Power of Destruction should just erase everything in its path, right? But it doesn't!

It works like a selectively complete-erasure. The caster chooses what to erase, and when the Power of Destruction strikes its target, it erases them completely, down to the subatomic level.

Nothing remains. The strange part? It behaves like a semi-conscious energy.

Now the question is—can I recreate it? The answer is yes. But to do that, I'd need to use Solomon's technique to retract and modify it.

How Solomon did this back in 1000 B.C. still boggles my mind. And don't even get me started on the Biblical God, who likely started all this way earlier.

First, though, I won't be able to recreate it with just one circle. Only those born with the Power of Destruction can cast it like that.

At a minimum, I'll need four circles to cast it. One to alter the energy, another to emulate the frequency, a third for manifestation, and the fourth to control it.

With this discovery, my original idea for the cartridges needs serious rethinking. I thought I could get away with just one circle. That's out the window now.

Time to redesign.

"Any luck?" Serafall asked, walking over to check on my progress.

"It's done. Four circles will be necessary to reproduce it," I replied, and Venelana's eyes widened.

"One of the greatest magics of the Devil-kind, reproduced in less than an hour… I'd love to see the look on Zekram Bael's face when he hears this." She spoke with a mocking smile. She clearly didn't have much love for her birth family.

"Well, I'm the one doing the reproducing, so it shouldn't be that big of a shock," I said, glancing back at the computer. Four white circles were beginning to take shape on the screen.

The efficiency was only at 67% though. It was a good start, but I couldn't select what to erase just yet. This would require more experimentation.

"I suppose that's true," Venelana agreed. "Still, once my family hears about you using Bael magic, they won't just let it go. You'd better be prepared for that."

"I will be. But I'm not using Devil magic per se. The residue will be neutral. Once your kin see it, they'll recognize it as Bael magic," I explained.

"Fair enough," she said, nodding.

I quickly returned to checking the circles and fine-tuning the system. To my surprise, only minor tweaks were needed before it was ready for testing.

But before that, I had to address another project I'd been procrastinating on for a while.

"Sera, I need your help. I need another room built," I said with a sigh.

"Hmm? What for?" she asked, curious.

"It's going to be an assembly line," I replied.

"An assembly line? Are you building a factory?" she asked, clearly baffled.

"No, not a mass production factory. It's more personal scale," I clarified.

"I see… okay, where do you want it built?" she asked, standing up.

"Over there," I said, pointing to the left side of my workshop.

"You mean where your neighbors live?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, they live on the surface," I replied flatly.

"Uhhh… if you say so," she said with a resigned sigh, following me.

Then, a thought crossed my mind. The comfort of the space and future expansions…

"On second thought, let's build it underneath the workshop," I suggested, turning around.

Sigh "Very well…" she muttered.

It didn't take long for the room underneath the workshop to take shape. Thanks to the two devils working efficiently, I was able to finish the transmutation and assembly system in record time.

However, as I worked, Venelana noticed something strange. The way I was working… it was like I had done this before.

She paused as she watched me finish yet another task with ease.

"Don't you think it's weird… how effortlessly he's doing all this?" Venelana whispered to Serafall. "Even Lord Beelzebub would need time to test such a massive project. But Marcus is doing everything in a single attempt."

"I know…" Serafall said, nodding. "And I have a theory of my own."

"You do?" Venelana asked, intrigued.

"He's most likely the reincarnation of the original Solomon," Serafall said, glancing at Venelana with a knowing look.

"Like those heroes? But that doesn't explain how he's this good!" Venelana exclaimed, her voice rising in disbelief. "This is already beyond what even Lord Beelzebub, a Super Devil, can do!"

"Indeed," Serafall agreed. "I can only guess that he has some memories from the original Solomon. He's far too mature for a teenager, and yet, he only started seeing me as a woman once puberty hit. Solomon, as we know, was a huge pervert who wanted to conquer the Devil race for its women."

Venelana gave a resigned sigh. "True… that's probably the most likely explanation we're going to get."

Venelana took a deep breath before asking something important.

"Is it true, then? You… did it with him?" she asked Serafall, her tone cautious.

"...Oh yes. Master is very natural at it," Serafall said with a proud smile. "That's why I think he's the reincarnation of Solomon. He's very good for someone who's never done it before."

Venelana blinked, clearly taken aback. "But… he's human and you're a Satan."

"That's the silliest excuse I've ever heard," Serafall said with a dismissive wave. "In front of Solomon's magic, devils and gods are easy targets. And Marcus is his successor…"

She glanced back at Marcus, who was seated at his computer, focused on something.
