Within just six months, it seemed as though the nation had been reborn. But this fragile dream was short-lived, shattered by the sheer magnitude of the natural calamities.

The Empire, once revitalized, proved powerless against the relentless onslaught. Temperatures plummeted, weather patterns turned erratic, and unrelenting storms devastated farmlands, leaving crops unable to grow. Amid such chaos, even the most orderly systems crumbled within two months, and the newly restructured Empire fell apart.

With destruction imminent, humanity's darkest traits surfaced as people struggled to survive. Chaos reigned, as each individual sought only to prolong their own life.

But August, along with Esdeath, Akame, Kurome, and the female members of the Jaegers, remained indifferent. They merely watched as the world unraveled.

Despite her best efforts, Najenda's numerous proposals and solutions to avert the disaster ultimately failed. Though she had Esdeath's full support, the Empire's disintegration was inevitable. Only the imperial capital maintained a semblance of stability—and even that was tenuous.

When Najenda finally confronted Esdeath to demand the truth, her despair was complete upon learning that the world had only months left before its ultimate destruction. Realizing the futility of her efforts, she questioned what all her sacrifices had been for.

Finally, August led Esdeath, Akame, Kurome, and the female Jaegers into a small, enclosed world of his own creation. From there, they silently observed as the timeline of this world approached its grim finale.

And now, today marked the final day.

With the World Tree sapling having absorbed the last vestiges of the world's essence, the realm reached its end, succumbing to annihilation.

Fueled by the destruction of an entire world, the World Tree sapling's growth skyrocketed, reaching an impressive 90% maturity. Just 10% more, and the sapling would enter its next stage.

During its growth to 70%, the World Tree sapling had awakened a new ability:

This reminded August of the Divine Protections from Re:Zero. However, while Divine Protections came from the world itself, these blessings were gifts from the World Tree.

As for August, he gained the blessing of the World itself, granting him access to the World Tree's immense power. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that with the World Tree's support, August's strength rivaled—or even surpassed—the Level 9 of power.
