Multiverse Family System: Rise of the Charlotte Family

Chapter 38: Fish-Man Island

-----

The banquet ended amidst music and dancing.

The grand hall, illuminated with vibrant lights, was as bright as day.

Yet, in the shadow of this joyous scene, King Riku trembled as he watched Joey's departing figure.

The Left and Right Ministers approached him cautiously.

"Your Majesty, is something troubling you?" asked the Left Minister gently, noticing the king's uneasy expression.

King Riku let out a deep sigh and replied, "Everything… everything is under that man's control. Joey doesn't just manipulate my thoughts—he holds the entire Tontatta tribe in the palm of his hand. He can even do the same thing he did to them to our country in the future. I didn't have the option to refuse from the time he came here."

The declaration left both ministers visibly uneasy.

The prospect of the Charlotte Family founding a nation.

The sudden emergence of the Skeleton Army that they knew who led them.

This trade agreement.

Everything was interconnected, like a massive iron chain, binding everyone within it.

If they agreed, they could survive.

If they refused, destruction would be inevitable.

That was the harsh reality.

"Your Majesty," the Right Minister began, "this arrangement with the head of the Charlotte Family doesn't seem disadvantageous. True, the demands are steep, but shouldn't the World Government and the Five Elders be the ones to worry about it, not us?"

The Left Minister nodded, adding, "If you find the terms unsuitable, Your Majesty, couldn't we simply back out after the agreement? Surely, the Charlotte Family wouldn't risk a direct attack on Dressrosa…"

As he spoke, the Left Minister's voice trailed off.

The Right Minister's face paled as well.

It was then that they both realized something critical:

The Charlotte Family may have risen to prominence through trade, but they were not mere merchants.

Joey, as the family head, commanded a power that could not be overlooked.

And the famous Big Mom?

She is part of the Rocks Pirates and carried a bounty of 1.5 billion beli—a living legend and a pirate through and through.

Not to mention Joey's seven younger pirate siblings.

Within half a month of their debut at sea, each of them had earned a bounty of at least 65 million berry not to mention Katakuri.

What kind of family was this?

King Riku, shaking his head grimly, explained, "Now you understand, don't you? When Joey came to me, the deal was already sealed. Refusing it would only spell disaster for Dressrosa. The Charlotte Family doesn't just have business acumen; they also have Big Mom's pirate crew as their hidden blade. We have no choice but to comply."

The ministers nodded silently, their unease now replaced by grim acceptance.

King Riku exhaled deeply, as if trying to expel his worries, and said, "Though it feels like we've been outmaneuvered, the trade itself is advantageous. Let's consider this an opportunity to make a bold move. Summon the eleven allied kings to join us for a banquet."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

With that, the ministers left to carry out his orders.

Left alone, King Riku narrowed his eyes thoughtfully and murmured, "Charlotte Joey… if you truly prove your worth and authority, perhaps aligning with you isn't such a bad idea. After all, many covet Dressrosa's position as a decision-making nation with eleven allies. It might be time to choose a stronger protector."

"Joy-land! Totto land! Here we come, our peaceful land"

As Joey's ship docked at Green Bit, Gancho and Grabar ran up singing joyfully.

"Hmm," Joey said with a kind smile. "Gancho, Grabar, have you prepared everything? The relocation arrangements are in place."

Grabar nodded enthusiastically. "Everything is ready! While this place has been our home, we believe in finding new beginnings. Wherever we go, the Tontatta Tribe will thrive and create another lush, green homeland, even better than...Green Bit."

Joey chuckled lightly. "That's the spirit. The island waiting for you will suit you perfectly."

---

Five days passed swiftly.

By then, Daifuku arrived with a fleet of twenty massive ships, each capable of carrying 3,000 people.

"Opera!"

"Daifuku!"

The two brothers embraced warmly.

Daifuku grinned and asked, "Where's Big Brother?"

Opera smiled in return. "He's waiting for you. Come on!"

The two entered the ship's cabin, where Joey was seated, reading a book.

"Daifuku, you're here," Joey said, looking up with a calm smile.

"Big Brother!" Daifuku beamed. "It's great to see you again. I brought all the ships you requested."

Joey nodded approvingly.

The Tontatta Tribe might be small in stature, but their numbers were considerable—over 100,000.

With these twenty colossal ships, transporting them was no problem.

Joey took a moment to think before giving further orders. "Daifuku, once this relocation is complete, tell Perospero to notify Katakuri and inform Mom. In a month and a half, she is to head to Hachinosu, the pirate island, to extract some souls."

Daifuku straightened up and replied seriously, "Understood."

Joey continued, "Two months from now, you and Oven are to prepare large ships and meet me at the village of the Elbaf warriors."

"Got it, Big Brother!" Daifuku said confidently, thumping his chest to show his resolve.

The relocation began immediately.

In just one day, the Tontatta Tribe was fully prepared to leave.

With everything settled, Joey once again set sail.

Next destination: Fishman Island—the fourth stop on his journey!
