Multiverse Family System: Charlotte Family Rise From One Piece

Chapter 43: Sabaody Archipelago

-----

The Yarukiman Mangrove trees stood tall, the largest red tree in the world. Its massive roots, exposed above the surface, formed new, giant trees of their own. These roots and trees created a total of 79 separate islands, collectively known as the Sabaody Archipelago.

In truth, the Sabaody Archipelago was under the rule of the Celestial Dragons.

Because of this, despite the presence of a Marine base, the archipelago was a chaotic hub for pirates, human traffickers, bounty hunters, underground organizations, and representatives from various nations. Essentially, it was a lawless region, though not officially declared as such.

The Marines, supposedly protectors of justice, were, at their core, nothing more than loyal dogs to the Celestial Dragons. They dared not offend their masters by interfering too much on the archipelago.

Moreover, one of the two main routes to the New World passed through here.

Pirates needed to coat their ships at Sabaody before heading to Fish-Man Island and ultimately crossing into the New World. This made Sabaody the busiest intersection of the Grand Line, bustling with trade and activity on an almost unimaginable scale.

However, it wasn't the only trade hub. On the other side of the New World stood Hachinosu, the island that served as the birthplace of the Rocks Pirates.

It had transformed from chaos into a realm of organized control under the Rocks Pirates, eventually becoming the largest trading center in the New World.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The sound of footsteps echoed as a group made their way through the lively streets of the archipelago. The atmosphere was electric, with people everywhere enjoying the crowded excitement.

Among the group, the younger girls—Custard, Angel, and Brûlée—were thoroughly enjoying themselves, captivated by the festive energy of Sabaody.

Of course, there was no need to worry. Cadenza and Cabaletta were keeping a watchful eye on them, ensuring no one dared make any foolish moves.

Meanwhile, Broyé, though tempted to join in the fun, pretended to act mature, putting on a facade of seriousness. Her brothers—Opera, Counter, and Gala—couldn't help but chuckle at her efforts.

"Hmph!" Broyé puffed her cheeks in frustration. "Opera, Counter, Gala, are you laughing at me?"

"Of course not!" the trio exclaimed in unison, shaking their heads vehemently.

Teasing their sister was all in good fun, but none of them would dare risk their lives. After all, if their older brother, Katakuri, found out, he'd likely knock their heads clean off. Katakuri doted on his siblings, but his sisters? even more, they were absolutely untouchable.

Katakuri had inherited Joey's philosophy: Sons should be raised with discipline, but daughters deserve nothing but indulgence.

Joey, watching his younger siblings interact, chuckled softly. "Alright, alright. Settle down. Broyé, if you want to go play, just go. It's no big deal. Counter, Gala, you two follow and keep an eye on the girls."

"Got it!" the brothers said in unison.

Broyé's frustration instantly turned to Joey. She jumped up to give Joey a big kiss on the cheek before running off to join her friends. At the end of the day, she was still just a child at heart.

Counter and Gala quickly followed after, leaving Opera scratching his head as he turned to Joey. "Big Brother, why did we suddenly come to the Sabaody Archipelago? Wasn't our next destination supposed to be the Kingdom of Alabasta?"

It was a valid question. Two months had passed since they'd begun their journey. Time was of the essence, especially with the looming threat of the God Valley War—a pivotal event that Joey had no intention of missing.

The God Valley War was a golden opportunity, one that promised immense rewards if handled correctly.

Joey responded calmly, "We're here for an auction. Perospero informed me that a devil fruit we need will be up for sale."

Opera immediately understood, nodding. "Got it, Big Brother."

Some things were better left unsaid. The wrong people overhearing the wrong words could lead to complications.

The five brothers each had their own distinct personalities.

Opera was arrogant but possessed both intelligence and bravery.

Counter was hot-headed but had the sense to think critically when it mattered.

Cadenza was calm and loyal to a fault.

Cabaletta was... well, he was just a lovable fool.

Gala was mature and balanced, neither exceptionally clever nor overly bold, but always reliable.

Together, their unique traits complemented each other perfectly. Cadenza kept Counter and Cabaletta in check, while Gala ensured Opera didn't get out of hand.

"Alright," Joey said, his tone light. "Don't think too hard about it. Just relax. We've been pushing ourselves pretty hard lately. Take today to rest and enjoy the archipelago."

"Hahaha! Sure thing, Big Brother!" Opera laughed, though his sharp eyes scanned the surroundings for any potential threats. Protecting his older brother was always his top priority.

Joey, seeing his siblings so vigilant, shook his head with a smile.

After a day of fun and exploration, the group found themselves in a cozy bar, enjoying fine wine and delicious food. The younger girls were happily indulging in sweets and snacks.

Even Akanegakubo Momo had joined the group. Her inclusion had caused quite a stir within the family.

In the end, her culinary skills—which she'd passed on to a new generation of students over the last decade—had narrowly saved her from becoming a source of conflict. Otherwise, the dessert-loving Charlotte family would have accepted her.

"Celestial Dragons!"

"Quick! Move aside!"

"Make way!"

The commotion outside drew everyone's attention. Joey's sharp eyes narrowed as he pondered aloud, "It seems the Celestial Dragons have arrived."

Sure enough, a male Celestial Dragon soon appeared, strutting arrogantly down the street.

"Cadenza," Joey said, his tone calm yet commanding. "How many Celestial Dragons are on the Sabaody Archipelago right now?"

Cadenza, ever efficient, replied in a low voice, "Big Brother, there's only one at the moment. His name is Zwart. He's here to attend tomorrow night's auction."

Joey's gaze turned thoughtful as he observed the fading sunlight. A faint smile played on his lips as he murmured, "Ah, yes... a perfect day for doing good deeds."

Hearing these words, Opera and the other brothers straightened, their expressions turning serious. They nodded in unison, understanding exactly what their older brother intended.
