Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Spark of Conflict
Elsa's POV
The city feels alive, and yet there's something wrong with it. The magic in the air is unsettling, like a current of danger waiting to erupt. It reacts to my own power, sending faint shivers down my spine. I pull my cloak tighter around me, trying to disappear into the bustling crowd. The last thing I want is to draw attention.
Beside me, Darth Vader walks with an air of cold authority, his dark cape billowing in the wind. Every few steps, people glance nervously in our direction, but no one dares approach us. His imposing presence does all the work. Even the city's magic bends around him, as if recognizing the sheer weight of his power.
I try to stay calm, but I can't shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen. The Grail War has barely started, but it already feels like we're on the edge of a storm.
"Do not fear them, Master," Vader's voice breaks through my thoughts, deep and steady, his mechanical breathing a constant reminder of his presence. "They are weak. Mere civilians. You must focus on the real threats — the other Masters."
I hesitate before responding, my voice soft. "It's not them I'm afraid of. It's... all of this. The Grail War, the chaos, the danger. It feels like we're walking into something that can't be controlled."
Vader stops, turning his helmeted head to face me. "Chaos can be controlled. But only through power. Focus your fear, Elsa, and use it. Only then will you have the strength to win."
His words strike me harder than I expect. He speaks as if he understands exactly what I'm feeling — the fear of losing control, of being consumed by my own power. But he wields his darkness with such certainty, such confidence. How can I do the same?
I clench my fists, frost creeping along my fingertips. I know he's right. I have to be strong, or I'll be crushed by this war.
"You're right," I say, forcing myself to steady my breathing. "But we still need to be careful. The other Masters could be watching us. We can't afford to underestimate them."
Vader gives a slow nod. "Then let us find them. Before they find us."
Shiba Tatsuya's POV
I've always believed in calculating every variable, controlling every outcome. But here, in the middle of Fuyuki City, there are too many unknowns. This place is crawling with potential threats — Masters and their Servants, all waiting for an opportunity to strike. If I make the wrong move, I'll be eliminated before I've even begun.
Beside me, Accelerator floats just above the ground, his arms crossed and his expression one of absolute boredom. He's powerful, but undisciplined. I'll have to manage him carefully if I want to get through this war unscathed.
"So, what's the plan?" Accelerator grumbles, glaring at a passing pedestrian. "You gonna keep walking around doing nothing, or are we gonna fight?"
"Information first," I say calmly, keeping my eyes on the street ahead. "We need to know who the other Masters are, what their Servants are capable of. Charging in blindly will get us killed."
Accelerator scoffs. "Like that's a problem for me. I can take them all down without breaking a sweat."
I glance at him, my voice steady but firm. "Don't underestimate the competition. This is no ordinary battle. Every Servant summoned is a legend, a hero or monster capable of incredible feats. Even your powers have limits."
His red eyes flash dangerously, and for a moment, I think he might lash out. But instead, he lets out a low laugh. "Fine. I'll play along... for now. But if anyone crosses us, don't expect me to hold back."
I allow myself a small smile. He may be difficult to control, but that raw power of his is exactly what I need. If used correctly, he'll be unstoppable.
As we turn a corner, I notice something strange — a flicker of movement in the shadows, almost imperceptible, but there. Someone's watching us.
"We're being followed," I say quietly, keeping my voice low.
Accelerator's grin widens. "Good. Let's make this interesting."
Tony Stark's POV
I've always had a knack for adapting to the unknown, and this whole "Grail War" thing is definitely uncharted territory. Magic, heroic spirits, and a city full of enemies — it's like someone combined every bad sci-fi and fantasy movie I've ever seen. But hey, I'm Tony Stark. When life throws a magical death tournament at you, you build a suit and win.
Still, I'm no fool. This isn't a game, and every Master out there is gunning for the Grail. I've got Bumblebee, and while he's a great asset, I'm not underestimating the competition. I'll need more than just brute force and shiny tech to win this thing.
"Boss," Bumblebee's voice comes through the comms in my helmet. He's still in his car form, zipping through the city on recon. "I've picked up some unusual activity on the outskirts. Might be another Master."
"Give me a location," I say, turning toward the edge of the city. My HUD flickers, displaying a map as Bumblebee sends the coordinates.
It's a park, quiet and out of the way. Perfect for someone trying to avoid attention. Which means it's probably a trap.
"Alright, Bumblebee, meet me there. Keep your optics open. We don't know what we're walking into."
"On my way."
I cut the comms and start making my way toward the park, blending into the crowd as best I can. My suit is powered down for now, but ready to deploy at a moment's notice. If another Master is out there, I need to be prepared for anything.
Zuko's POV
I can feel the tension building in the air. The city may look peaceful on the surface, but beneath it, there's a storm brewing. The Grail War has begun, and soon, the first strike will be made. I need to be ready when it happens.
But with Joker as my Berserker-class Servant, "readiness" is a constant battle.
We're walking through a narrow alleyway, out of sight from the main streets. Joker is humming to himself, twirling a knife between his fingers as if this is all just a game to him. I have to stay focused, to control his chaos before it spirals out of control.
"You're quiet, Zuko," Joker says, his voice lilting and playful. "Something on your mind? Or are you just brooding, like a good little prince?"
I glare at him, my fists clenched. "I don't have time for your games, Joker. If we're going to win this, we need to focus."
Joker's eyes light up with manic glee. "Focus? On what? We're in a city full of innocent little lambs, just waiting to be sheared! Why waste time on strategy when we could be having fun?"
I grit my teeth, forcing myself to stay calm. I can't let him go wild. Not yet.
"Our enemies are the other Masters and their Servants," I say firmly. "The civilians don't matter. If we're going to win the Grail, we need to eliminate the competition, not terrorize the city."
Joker giggles, spinning on his heels. "Oh, but why not both? You need to loosen up, Zuko. Have a little fun!"
Before I can respond, a figure emerges from the shadows ahead of us. He's dressed in a hooded cloak, his face obscured, but I can feel the raw magic radiating from him.
Another Master.
Joker's grin widens, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Oh, now this is interesting..."
Newt Scamander's POV
The city is beautiful in its own way, but there's an edge of danger that I can't ignore. The creatures in my case sense it too, shifting restlessly inside as if they can feel the tension in the air. I've never been part of a war before, and this Grail War feels far more dangerous than any conflict I've ever encountered.
Beside me, Whitebeard stands tall and imposing, his massive frame towering over the people around us. He's calm, even in the face of uncertainty, his presence a reassuring anchor.
"We need to stay cautious," I say, keeping my voice low. "The other Masters are out there, and some of them might not hesitate to attack if they see us."
Whitebeard strokes his mustache thoughtfully. "Aye, lad. But no battle was ever won by hiding in the shadows. If they want a fight, I'll give them one."
I nod, understanding his warrior's spirit. But I'm not ready to engage in battle just yet. I need to learn more about the other Masters first, understand who we're dealing with before making any moves. Whitebeard is powerful, but this war is more than just brute strength.
As we turn a corner, I spot something in the distance — a faint flicker of movement, someone watching us from a rooftop. My heart skips a beat.
"Someone's following us," I whisper.
Whitebeard narrows his eyes, his hand gripping his massive naginata. "Let them come. We'll see what they're made of."
Conclusion: The Flames Ignite
The first movements have been made. The Masters and their Servants are beginning to converge, their presence drawing closer as the tension in the city thickens. Shadows shift, figures watch from rooftops, and alliances are tested as each Master makes their move.
In the alleyway, Zuko and Joker prepare to confront a mysterious opponent. In the park, Tony Stark edges closer to a potential enemy. And in the streets, Whitebeard senses the first stirrings of battle, ready to face whatever comes his way.
The Grail War is about to explode.
And when the first strike falls, the true battle will begin.
