Multiversal Chat Group: The Cultivator

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: For Freedom

Lu Mingfei was about to collapse.

But his body refused to listen to him.

Because he had been paralyzed with acupressure.

And who did it? Of course, it was the group leader, Ren Asakura.

"This tea is amazing," Ren mused, taking a small sip. "In the marketplace, it's 100 points per tael, and it's infused with spiritual energy. Just one sip, and you can feel it warming your organs."

It was unclear who he was talking to.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni also sipped his tea.

With his Transparent World ability, he could see through Lu Mingfei's body.

It was pathetic.

The kid was so physically weak, it was clear he had never properly trained.

Sun Breathing wasn't something just anyone could learn.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many derivative breathing techniques.

To master Sun Breathing, the first requirement was an exceptionally strong body.

After all, Yoriichi Tsugikuni was in a constant state of Marked activation.

Other demon slayers could only maintain their Mark for short bursts before they were drained.

But Yoriichi? He was always at full power.

And Sun Breathing was forged under those conditions.

This meant only the most gifted individuals could wield it.

Everyone else had to settle for derivatives—Flame Breathing, Thunder Breathing, Water Breathing, and so on.

Even so, Sun Breathing remained the strongest.

Like the radiance of the sun itself, it could effortlessly slay even the most powerful demons.

Ren Asakura placed his teacup down and walked up to Lu Mingfei.

"Hold on. Just ten more minutes."

Lu Mingfei, barely able to move, let out a weak, pitiful whimper.

"I was wrong! Group Leader, I was so wrong! I shouldn't have called you a permissions-abusing tyrant! I should never have doubted your noble character! I should never have questioned your righteousness! From now on, you are my sky! If you say go east, I will never go west!"

Ren nodded approvingly.

"Ah, now that is a well-placed compliment. But the truth is, you really are too weak."

"Sure, you could use points to enhance your body, but you wouldn't be able to control that sudden surge of power. Only strength gained through training is truly your own."

"As the saying goes—'When Heaven bestows a great mission upon a person, it first tests their will, exhausts their body, and starves their flesh.'"

In Lu Mingfei's world, there were too many scheming old bastards.

That was the truth.

And then there was Lu Mingfei's personality.

His awkward, hesitant nature made him an easy target for manipulators.

Training and discipline weren't just about strengthening the body—they also tempered the mind.

Control your power. Don't let your power control you.

Ren Asakura patted Lu Mingfei on the shoulder.

"For freedom. Keep going, Lu Mingfei."

Lu Mingfei was on the verge of tears.

He was sure the group leader was just finding new ways to torture him.

Ten minutes.

But to Lu Mingfei, it felt like years.

His muscles screamed in pain.

Even his fingers were shaking.

Then—finally—the ten minutes were up.

Ren Asakura tapped the air lightly with his finger.

Lu Mingfei collapsed instantly, landing on the ground with a thud.

The intense soreness and exhaustion made him feel like he was about to die.

Ren, still holding his tea, walked up to him.

"Drink up! You barely lasted half an hour of stance training."

"Though, to be fair, I did increase gravity by 1.5 times."

Lu Mingfei's hands trembled as he accepted the tea.

Then—he chugged it all in one go.

A cool, refreshing sensation spread through his body.

The muscle pain and fatigue gradually faded away.

This tea was better than any elixir.

"Slow down, slow down. No one's taking it from you."

"Take a short break. Next up: 1,000 sword swings."

Lu Mingfei's entire face twisted in despair.

Ren Asakura smirked.

Happiness truly comes from someone else's suffering.

But as Lu Mingfei felt his body recover to peak condition, a dangerous thought crept in.

I can do this.

Ren, still smiling, watched him closely.

He still needs more training.

After all, weakness is the original sin.

Among the five members in the group, Lu Mingfei was the weakest—both in combat ability and mental fortitude.

He couldn't even fight head-on.

He was lacking in too many ways.

Meanwhile, Yoriichi Tsugikuni, Saitama, and Minato Namikaze had fought countless life-and-death battles.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni

There was no need to say much about him—he was the strongest warrior in the Demon Slayer world.

He had slain countless demons, fought hundreds of battles, and perfected his swordsmanship to the pinnacle of human mastery.

Minato Namikaze

The Fourth Hokage.

Despite being a civilian-born ninja, his talent was unparalleled.

He had fought in hundreds of battles, participated in multiple wars, and earned the title "Yellow Flash."

The moment enemy shinobi saw his presence on the battlefield, they would abandon their mission.

His battle record was even more terrifying:

Instantly annihilated 50 Jonin-level shinobi.

Forced the Raikage and Killer Bee to retreat—both Kage-level powerhouses.

Could trade injuries to take down a fully transformed Eight-Tails Jinchuriki.

During his battle with Obito, he analyzed his opponent's weakness within seconds and defeated him.

Saitama

The Caped Baldy.

He trained relentlessly and slaughtered monsters without hesitation.

Even in his weaker days, Saitama never hesitated to fight monsters head-on.

Now?

He had killed so many that even he had lost count.

He had grown so strong that he couldn't even find a worthy opponent.

And then… there was Lu Mingfei.

Compared to these three?

He was just a regular loser.

Without sacrificing his own life for temporary power, he could accomplish nothing.

Even when the school principal gave him a cheat ability, he only reached A-rank hybrid strength.

During his battle against Odin, he nearly gave away the last 1/4 of his remaining life force to his brother.

Maybe… if he kept training, he could somehow reclaim that missing 1/4.

---

Once he caught his breath, Lu Mingfei resumed his sword swings.

Sweat dripped down his face.

"One… Two… Three… Four…!"

Deep down, Lu Mingfei knew exactly what he was.

A pathetic weakling.

He had never truly controlled his own fate.

He could choose to remain weak.

But that would lead him to that lonely throne.

A future of absolute solitude.

He didn't want that.

So, even as he complained aloud, deep inside… he was happy.

Because he could feel his body getting stronger.

And Ren Asakura never hesitated to provide the best elixirs and medicine after every training session.

Every day, Lu Mingfei woke up full of energy.

So that he could train even harder.

---

Yoriichi observed Lu Mingfei's improving physique through his Transparent World vision.

"At this rate, he's almost ready to start basic Breath Training."

As time passed…

Lu Mingfei's body transformed.

The fat and excess weight disappeared.

His skin tightened.

Defined, lean muscles began to emerge.

His physique became sharp, compact—like a predator.

His six-pack abs were now clearly visible.

At this point, if he didn't wear that usual loser expression, he could actually pass as a handsome guy.
