Mobuseka:Leon's Adventure

Chapter 4: In The Storage

Two boys could be seen in the storage shed: Leon Fou Bartfort and his older brother Nix Fou Bartfort. They were studying. Both Leons already had some basic knowledge, so everything they saw in the books was more or less familiar to them.

Leon decided to ask the second about what he knew of this world, and the second was happy to answer:

"The only thing I can recall right now is that this country is basically a matriarchy. The overall system is awful. You'd better ask Nix; he's right here. He's quite knowledgeable and will give you the details."

Agreeing, the first began questioning Nix about the kingdom. Within minutes, Leon's face—and the face of the second Leon—were filled with pure disbelief.

"Damn," muttered the second. "They didn't go into this much detail in the original... This is just horrible!"

The first suddenly started smiling, a mix of frustration and resignation on his face. He looked at Nix and noticed that his brother's expression mirrored his own: a smile tinged with despair.

"What's with that face, Leon?" Nix asked.

"Damn it all!" Leon shouted, then slumped over. Looking at Nix, he said:

"Brother, this world is absurd."

"Y-yeah… agreed," Nix stammered.

Their conversation could have ended there, but the dialogue continued between the first and second Leons.

The first, glancing at the second, said:

"I'm willing to do anything, as long as I don't have to marry some ugly old hag. So, what's your plan?"

Hearing this, the second smirked and began explaining:

"First of all, we're the same person now, so we need to act together. Let's divide the time: you control the body in the first half of the day, and I'll take over in the second half. Second, we need to find Luxion as soon as possible. He'll solve 90% of our problems. That's our main priority."

"In our memories, there's an old, broken airship on the estate. That should be enough to get to him. You should focus on training with swords alongside Father and earning money for gear and ship parts. Meanwhile, I'll repair the ship in the evenings."

When training was mentioned, Leon's motivation wavered slightly, but he nodded, remembering Zola's face.

"Fine, let's start tomorrow."

Thus, Leon spent the morning training with Balcus and working in the fields to earn money. You might wonder, "Do nobles really work in the fields?" Well, yes, especially barons. Most of it is done to pay taxes to the kingdom, which increase based on one's title. The Bartfort family had to work especially hard, as most of their income went to supporting Zola and her family.

"What a damn parasite!" both Leons said in unison, as there was so much work that even the second had to help.

When the second Leon took control of the body, the first said in their shared consciousness:

"I'm exhausted, so I'm going to sleep."

Suddenly, the first's consciousness faded. The second made his way to the shed, found the airship, and began figuring out how it worked. It didn't take long for him to realize how difficult this task would be as he started dismantling the ship.

After some time, a brunette—Jenna Fou Bartfort—entered the shed. She was clearly annoyed. Why? Perhaps she was trying to figure that out herself. When she noticed Leon, covered in dust and machine oil, she walked over.

"Hey, dumb brother, what are you doing?" she asked mockingly. She enjoyed teasing him and was eager for another opportunity.

But as she got closer, her expression turned to disgust.

"Ew! You filthy, stupid country bumpkin!" Jenna exclaimed.

Hearing her voice, the second Leon turned around and gave her a look that seemed to ask, "What do you want?"

As she began complaining, her words entered one ear and left the other. At some point, Leon recalled Louise Sara Rault—a girl he thought of as a sister. She was wonderful, the ideal sibling anyone could wish for. But standing before him was this one, who had once planted a bomb inside her brother's mech.

Taking a deep breath, Leon muttered:

"Haa… Replace her."

Jenna froze, processing what she'd just heard. When the meaning of his words sank in, her face turned red with anger.

"You piece of trash! You'll never get married or achieve anything in your life!"

Not wanting to listen to her screeching, Leon quickly left the shed.
