Mobile Suit Wars: Starting with Gundam OO

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: The "Army" of Gundam Rasiel

"All units! Scatter..."

Sergei was about to issue the order to disperse, but it was too late. Dozens of pink beams shot in from a great distance, piercing through the limbs or heads of six units of [Into the Array], while the engines of three [Tiger] transport ships were completely penetrated, rendering them immobile and only able to move forward by inertia.

"How is that distance even possible!?" Peries exclaimed in horror. From the display screen, she could only see a small point emitting green light, yet more than a dozen shots fired simultaneously from an extreme distance were able to accurately hit the limbs and heads of the MS, and the transport ships were targeted right at their engines. It was important to note that the engines and energy sources of the [Tiger] transport ships were very close together; if there was even a slight deviation, it could hit the energy source and cause the transport ship to explode.

"All units! A32 formation! Be alert, the monster is coming." Sergei commanded, feigning calmness, though cold sweat had already soaked his back.

"Understood!" XN

Needless to say, they all knew that the big monster was coming. They had already learned about the terror of Gundam Rasiel from the footage of the previous Talibia battle, and now, the precise multiple shots from an extreme distance allowed them to personally experience just how terrifying it was.

"Colonel! The current intelligence on the Feather Machine indicates that it specializes in mid-range combat while moving at high speeds. If we close the distance, we can find an opportunity!" Peries suggested based on the information she had reviewed earlier.

"No! Lieutenant, the Feather Machine has only revealed its mid-range combat capabilities; that does not mean it is not skilled in close-quarters combat! Maintain the A32 formation. You and I will create opportunities for the others. Do not think about capturing the Feather Machine; focus on stalling for time! Reinforcements are on the way. Once the main force arrives, we will gain the advantage!"

Sergei couldn't help but marvel at how fearless Peries was, like a young calf that knows no fear of tigers. Yang Hui was indeed best at mid-range combat while moving at high speeds, but… that didn't mean his close-quarters combat was lacking!

Although not as dazzling as his shooting skills, Yang Hui's close-quarters combat level was no weak point. He could hold his own against Graham, a melee fanatic, so how could it be weak?

"…Understood." Peries, though not entirely convinced, still obeyed the order.

Soon, the figure of Gundam Rasiel grew larger, quickly catching up to the retreating Human Reform League fleet. In no time, Yang Hui also showed Peries what "average" close-quarters combat skills looked like.

"Here it comes! Watch out for those floating units!"

Sergei, with keen eyes, spotted the "feathers" detaching from Gundam Rasiel and flying toward them from different directions, immediately warning his team.

According to previous data, these were small armed units capable of independent combat, divided into shield and beam gun forms. In an unaware state, they were a nightmare for the enemy, but with prior preparation, they were not so terrifying.

"Let's see if I can redeem myself this time, my dear brother." Sergei thought to himself.

But…

Outside their firing range, the gun-type GN-bits fired again. The prepared [Into the Array] raised its right arm, placing the E-Carbon shield in front of itself to protect vital areas, confidently believing it could block Gundam Rasiel's attack. However, the next second, it was pierced through along with its arm and head by the pink beam.

"How is that possible!?"

"The shield can't hold!"

"Damn, the penetration is so strong!"

With the previous experience in mind, everyone abandoned the idea of defense and began dodging the incoming beams of light in all directions. Although they effectively avoided the GN beams, this caused their formation to become chaotic.

Seeing this, Sergei realized the danger; Yang Hui intended to tear apart their formation and take them down one by one! He immediately shouted, "Lieutenant!"

"Understood!"

Without explicit orders, Peries and Sergei had already established a preliminary understanding, instantly grasping each other's intentions. [Beiwei] and the special [Into the Array] charged ahead, breaking away from the main force to rush toward Gundam Rasiel. Their goal was to entangle Gundam Rasiel and buy time, not to let it treat their forces as practice targets.

...

"Well, not bad. Although it lacks a GN Drive, the completion is still high. If it weren't for the enhanced clustering and penetration of the GN-bits, it might not have pierced the shield. The pilot's skill... they are all elites from various legions—Lieutenant Min, Sergeant Heidloff, Lieutenant Hu... quite a few familiar faces. I hope they don't notice anything... Hmm? [Beiwei] and the specially modified [Into the Array]? My brother and Soma Peries?"

Watching the two units breaking away from the main force and charging toward him on the screen, Yang Hui grinned, just the right opportunity to test Peries and [Beiwei].

"GN-bits, deploy fully, manual control." As he chanted, Yang Hui's hands moved back and forth among the buttons in the cockpit, but it didn't appear chaotic, like he was playing a fierce and intense piano piece filled with a murderous atmosphere.

Under his control, the GN-bits, which had originally acted according to a fixed pattern, became more agile, as if they were soldiers commanded by a general. Meanwhile, the skirt armor on Gundam Rasiel split open, and two blades flashing with green light joined the ranks.

"Hope I won't be taken out in an instant, brother."

As the GN-bits advanced, they encountered [Beiwei] and the special [Into the Array]. In an instant, they spread out, dodging the shots from the two units, but without scattering, they formed an orderly net, surrounding the two units in the center.

"Concentrate the formation!"

"Understood!"

Facing the encirclement of the GN-bits, [Beiwei] and the special [Into the Array] backed up against each other, rapidly spinning while continuously shooting at their surroundings. Their hit rate was low, but they managed to hit a few GN-bits.

However, the sight before them made their hearts sink. Every time their shots were about to hit a GN-bit, a shield-type GN-bit would insert itself to block their attack, then quickly move aside to clear the shooting path for the gun-type GN-bits behind.

"Damn it!" Even the battle-hardened Sergei was sweating profusely. After understanding the characteristics of the GN-bits, they were not difficult to deal with, but in Yang Hui's hands, these GN-bits seemed to be given life, functioning like a disciplined army, each performing their duties in an orderly manner.

"Colonel! Please create an opportunity for me!"

"Lieutenant!"

"We must disrupt his rhythm; otherwise, we have no chance of winning!"

"…Alright…" Just as Sergei agreed, he immediately heard Peries' warning.

"Colonel! Be careful!"

"What... Ah~!"

Before he could finish his sentence, Sergei felt a violent jolt. The cockpit screen went dark, and [Beiwei]... was reduced to a mere wreck by two green meteors.

"Colonel!"

Peries was momentarily distracted by [Beiwei], but just for a second, the alarm pulled her attention back. Turning around, she saw a face on the screen that was almost within reach, and then everything went black, the violent shaking bringing unbearable pain.

"Ah~!"

At this moment, Gundam Rasiel had closed in on the special [Into the Array], with two GN guns hanging at its waist. It reached out to grab the two sword-type GN-bits flying toward it, severing their limbs and heads.

"Don't lose focus during battle; it can get you killed." Yang Hui murmured, not bothering with the two wrecks, as he led his army to chase after the main force behind.
