Mobile Suit Wars: Starting with Gundam OO

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Lifenzi's Visit

After bidding farewell to Setsuna and Shaz, Myer returned to Wang Liumei's private island. He was about to head to space soon, so he figured he should spend some quality time with her before he left.

"Crossroad family, huh? As much as I'm interested in the simple boy Shaz, his sister piques my interest more. She has no official background, yet she managed to deduce the true nature of Celestial Being's first-stage plan just from the information she gathered herself. Fascinating. Someone like her can't be allowed to be killed by Sashes. It would be a waste of talent."

With this thought in mind, Myer pushed open the villa door. However, as soon as he stepped inside, he sensed something was wrong. It was eerily quiet. Not only were the servants absent, but normally, Wang Liumei would have already come to greet him, yet the entire villa felt unsettlingly still.

Just as Myer suspected an intruder had entered, his hand instinctively reached for the gun at his waist. Then, a familiar yet unfamiliar voice called out.

"Finally, we meet, Myer."

Following the voice, Myer looked toward the living room. There, a green-haired young man was lounging comfortably on the sofa, sipping tea, while Wang Liumei stood respectfully beside him, accompanied by Red Dragon.

"Lifenzi Almark," Myer's face darkened. His hand still holding onto his gun, he cautiously walked to Wang Liumei's side, placing himself protectively between her and Lifenzi.

"Didn't expect you to recognize me, Myer."

"Heh, can we skip the poor acting, Lifenzi? Don't tell me you're still pretending to be Alejandro's subordinate. I've had access to all the data in VEDA, including the parts you don't have clearance for." Myer said coldly.

"Myer, you really don't know how to joke, do you? There's no need to be so tense. Please, do sit. Miss Wang's tea skills are quite impressive..." Lifenzi smirked, waving dismissively.

Bang~

Before Lifenzi could finish his sentence, a bullet grazed his face, shattering the window behind him. Blood trickled down, adding a sinister edge to Lifenzi's once-beautiful, and now unsettling, face.

"Considering your position, I'll spare you this time. My people—don't touch them."

The ice-cold tone and the unhesitating shot proved just how furious Myer was. Although he wasn't a romantic, once he had accepted someone's feelings, he felt responsible. Lifenzi's attitude toward Wang Liumei, treating her like a mere subordinate, enraged him. This was punishment, and a warning.

"So… I was rude, Miss Wang. Please forgive me." Lifenzi didn't even bother to wipe the blood off his wound. Instead, he bowed to Wang Liumei.

"It's no trouble, Mr. Almark. It's just tea, after all." Wang Liumei replied gracefully, though inwardly, she felt warmth. Myer had actually shot at a high-ranking member of Celestial Being for her, and with him around, she no longer felt the fear she once had.

"Let's get to the point," Myer said, sitting down across from Lifenzi, keeping the gun trained on him. He couldn't afford to be careless with a man like Lifenzi, who saw himself as a god.

"You're in quite a hurry, Myer. But are you sure you want them here for our conversation?" Lifenzi gestured toward Wang Liumei and Red Dragon.

"I'll leave," Wang Liumei said, understanding the situation. She immediately began to step aside with Red Dragon, but Myer stopped them.

"They're trustworthy," Myer said firmly.

Wang Liumei was one of Myer's women (though nothing had happened yet), and Red Dragon was her older brother, disguised as a bodyguard but actually her protector. There was no need for suspicion.

"Very well…Myer, I've come to propose a partnership," Lifenzi said, his smile returning.

"Really? Realizing Alejandro is too foolish and not wanting to play along anymore?" Myer sneered.

"...You know a lot," Lifenzi's smile disappeared, replaced by seriousness. His plans were not in VEDA's database, and his true goal was to seize VEDA itself, including manipulating the Kona family and its current head, Alejandro Kona. No one knew this except him and his allies. How did Myer know?

"Let's skip the pleasantries. What kind of cooperation are you suggesting?"

"...You know about Aeolia Schenberg's entire plan, don't you?"

"Of course."

"The upcoming dialogue is imminent. Mankind still hasn't unified, internal conflicts persist. It's ridiculous. All they need is an absolute leader, someone to rule them with an iron fist. They... need a god's leadership."

"So what?" Myer asked with a sneer as he listened to Lifenzi's impassioned speech.

"Join me, Myer, let us become gods of this world together! Mankind is too foolish. If things continue as they are, they'll never achieve the upcoming dialogue, and their end will be inevitable." Lifenzi invited, his confident smile returning.

"Heh, you're really something, Lifenzi." Myer shook his head, smirking.

"Don't you agree? Am I wrong?" Lifenzi's smile faltered.

"You keep calling humans foolish, but it seems you've forgotten that I'm also human. And you, too, were created based on humans. Don't you think your argument is self-contradictory?"

"...Please don't compare me to the inferior species, Myer. We are the evolution of humanity, born to be rulers. As for you... Myer, I've reviewed all your files, even the ones before and after you joined Celestial Being. You're exceptional, even surpassing Aeolia Schenberg. I believe you can be the pioneer of change, worthy of joining us, you just need to..."

"Forget it. I think being human is just fine," Myer interrupted before Lifenzi could finish.

Whether it was the pioneer of change or becoming an artificial change-maker, Myer wasn't interested. He didn't care about turning into a silicon-based lifeform like an idiot, and as for being a manufactured change-maker... he was already a naturally evolved, pure change-maker. Did he really need to be artificially enhanced?

"Is that so? What a shame."

"Are you planning to exclude me?" Myer mocked, though he knew Lifenzi was a madman, he wasn't afraid of him if things got serious.

"No, people like you shouldn't end here. My plans will continue. After the first-phase plan is complete, I'll come back to find you. You'll have another chance to work with me—provided you're still alive."

With that, Lifenzi got up and left, leaving the entire room feeling tense and relieved at the same time.

"Myer, who exactly is he?"

"An artificially created change-maker by Aeolia Schenberg. Though he's artificial, he's still an evolved human."

"An evolved human?"

"After humanity enters space, they'll evolve to adapt to the environment. For example..." In the shocked expressions of Wang Liumei and Red Dragon, Myer's eyes shimmered with brilliance, "...longer lifespans, stronger bodies, sharper minds... this is evolution, and it's the inevitable trend."

"And you...?"

"Long-term exposure to high concentrations of GN particles can turn you into someone like me. The probability is uncertain. But neither Ian nor Linda has turned out this way. Mileina is still too young to know."

"I see... then what about him?"

"Just a madman who thinks he's a god. He'll eventually become our enemy."

"I understand."

Wang Liumei nodded. She knew what to ask and what not to. If it was something she needed to know, Myer would share it with her.

The next moment, Myer pulled Wang Liumei into his arms and said, "Liumei, you're mine now. You don't need to bow to anyone."

"...Mm."

On the other side, Lifenzi sat in the car, watching the sunset through the window. His driver, however, mocked him, completely unprofessional for a driver.

"Hahaha, what a mess, Lifenzi, you were rejected."

"Rejeni was right, Lifenzi, you're really pathetic."

"This time, I can't help you, Lifenzi. Rejeni and Sheerin were right."

The two in the back seat agreed.

"A temporary failure isn't a big deal. I believe he'll come around." Lifenzi shrugged, not caring about their mockery. "And... this wasn't without gain."

"Found a weakness?" Rejeni asked.

"Yes. A very obvious and deadly

weakness. After all, they're still inferior species," Lifenzi said with a mysterious smile as he looked out the window.
