Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Executioner Is Not Noble
The conclusion of the Moralia mission was supposed to be a time of celebration. However, at that very moment, something major happened that cast a shadow over everyone's spirits.
Across the globe, simultaneous terrorist attacks struck seven major cities. The attackers targeted crowded locations like shopping malls and stations, resulting in countless civilian casualties. The perpetrators released a statement online, claiming that as long as Celestial Being did not cease its armed interventions and disarm, they would continue launching indiscriminate reprisals worldwide.
The attack was so sudden that even Celestial Being's intelligence network couldn't identify which organization was behind it.
"Whoever did this, they sure know how to hit hard!" Neil gritted his teeth.
"Those damn terrorists, one day we'll wipe them all out," Lyle echoed with equal rage.
The Dylandy brothers harbored the deepest hatred for terrorists, as their own family had perished in such attacks. Their primary reason for joining Celestial Being was to use its power for vengeance, to completely annihilate all terrorists.
"Heh, do they really think this will make us stop our armed interventions?" Tieria sneered.
It was a typical response, but spoken by Tieria at that moment, it immediately enraged several people.
"What did you say?!"
"Tieria, what exactly do you mean by that?"
"Don't you care that innocent civilians have died?"
The Dylandy brothers, already fuming, were only further incensed by Tieria's words. Meanwhile, Ian also expressed dissatisfaction with Tieria's indifference. Although Setsuna and Allelujah didn't speak, their disapproval was clearly visible in their eyes.
But Tieria remained unmoved, coldly responding, "No, such events were likely anticipated long ago as part of the plan."
"You bastard…"
Seeing the Dylandy brothers march toward him in anger, Tieria casually asked, "What's wrong? The two of you, usually so indifferent, suddenly care about this? Doesn't quite fit your usual style."
"Shut up! You bastard…"
Just as the Dylandy brothers were about to strike, Myer stepped in to intervene.
"Enough!"
"Myer-sensei…"
"At times like this, we need to stay calm. Neil, Lyle, I know you both despise these terrorist attacks, but you can't let your anger spill over onto your own people. The terrorist organization has launched an armed attack, so they're also targets we must engage. We are Gundam Meisters, and it is our responsibility to pass judgment on their crimes with the Gundams, don't you think?" Myer's voice was stern.
"Che…"
"Understood, Myer-sensei, just... really pissed off..."
"If you're angry, hold it in for now. Once we find their location, then you can unleash all that rage and wipe them out."
After speaking, Myer turned his gaze toward Tieria and reprimanded him, "And you, Tieria, don't forget that to others, we are also terrorists, murderers. No matter how noble our reasons, it doesn't change the fact that once our hands are stained with blood, we lose the right to argue. You may not care about how many people die for the plan, but remember, countless lives will be sacrificed for the world's reform—soldiers, civilians, even us. But we can't put ourselves on a pedestal just because we're Gundam Meisters. We must remember every life lost because of us; it's both a responsibility and a duty!"
Tieria turned his head away in displeasure but still kept Myer's words in mind.
Myer then surveyed the group and said, "Listen up, Gundam Meisters are executioners. We use violence to end violence, war to stop war. Our hands are stained with countless amounts of blood, but no matter what happens, we must carry on because we are the pioneers of reform. We won't hesitate to sacrifice our own lives!"
The five nodded seriously after hearing Myer's words.
"What are we doing now?" Setsuna asked.
"Stand by for now. I'll head back immediately to help Wang Liumei uncover the mastermind. Until then, stay here and be ready, especially you two," he said, pointing to the Dylandy brothers.
"Understood."
"Hey, seriously, do you think we're that unreliable?" Lyle grumbled, feeling put out.
After Myer left in Secret Angel, the five Gundam Meisters, along with Ian, gathered again.
"Ha, no wonder Myer-sensei has such great leadership skills."
"Once again, he smoothly diffused the team crisis. You agree, right, Tieria?"
"Hmph."
"Ah, haha, everyone stop it. You really don't want Myer-sensei to turn back halfway, right?"
"If he does, we're probably going to get extra training..."
The mention of extra training sent a shiver down everyone's spine, including Setsuna, who had said it.
"I'm going to rest for now. Who knows when we'll be called into action."
"Rest? I'm dead tired today..."
"Alright, everyone, disperse. Prepare for deployment."
---
Upon Myer's return to Wang Liumei's private island, he didn't waste any time resting and went straight to meet Wang Liumei and Huang.
"Any news?"
"Nothing yet. The attack was so sudden, and the enemy's methods were too skilled. They vanished immediately after the attack. We've tracked a few possible temporary hideouts, but they turned out to be dead ends," Wang Liumei reported.
"Huang, what's your prediction?"
"Nothing yet. The possibilities are too many, and with our current manpower, we can't formulate a solid battle plan. The cities of UNION and AEU were hit, but we can't be sure if the attacks are truly random," Huang said, biting his nails.
"Is that so… Wang Liumei, immediately have the agents stand by in the major cities of the Human Reform League."
"Do you think their next target is the Human Reform League?" Wang Liumei asked.
"Yes, it's very likely. An organization bold enough to release a public crime statement won't back down from it. If they do, their actions will lose all credibility. The reasoning behind targeting Celestial Being will fall apart, and there could even be internal conflict within the organization. Their next target is likely on the Human Reform League's territory, but we can't completely abandon UNION and AEU cities either."
Myer knew the true identity of this mysterious organization and even where their next attack would occur, but he couldn't say it outright. He could only hope that Celestial Being's agents would be resourceful enough to stop the next attack before it happened, minimizing casualties.
"I understand. I'll concentrate most of our forces within the Human Reform League's territory."
After receiving the directive, Wang Liumei immediately began reallocating personnel, preparing for the next steps, leaving only the wait.
Starting today , Yan Hui codename will be Myer
