Mobile Suit Wars: Starting with Gundam OO

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: This is Just the Beginning

At the Human Reform League Orbital Elevator - Celestial Pillar, the defense forces detected that the shield had once again triggered an alarm. Most people speculated it was just debris, not paying much attention, as such incidents happened daily. Fortunately, a meticulous observer noticed that this time the debris was unusually large. The commander, being cautious, considered the upcoming celebration banquet for the tenth anniversary of solar power integration, which had gathered a large number of diplomats and military leaders from various countries, leaving no room for negligence.

It was precisely due to the attentiveness and caution of these two that they discovered terrorists mingling among the debris.

"Request for the third-party guard to launch an emergency strike! We must shoot them down!"

The alarm at the orbital space station blared, and red warning lights flashed incessantly as MS pilots immediately boarded their machines and took off.

Sergei, who happened to be there, hurried to the command center. Although he was aware of the plan, the occurrence of a terrorist attack at this moment still sent chills down his spine. If the celebration banquet were attacked, it would not only become an international joke but also plunge the Human Reform League into chaos.

"Is it the [GN-X]? AEU is getting more and more reckless, really. In such a twisted world, reform is indeed necessary," Sergei thought to himself.

...

A small squad of three Iron Man Space Types was urgently dispatched. Due to the haste, they had no time to change their equipment.

Although the mobility had long surpassed that of the [GN-X] after Yang Hui proposed the Iron Man enhancement plan, they were already a step behind. The [GN-X] had been using the solar power facility as cover, making them hesitant to fire recklessly, and they simply couldn't catch up to subdue them.

"The enemy is taking a shooting position!"

"The enemy's missiles have been launched! They will hit directly! There's no time to intercept!"

The two reports, spaced just two or three seconds apart, left everyone in despair, helplessly watching the missiles draw closer, waiting for death to arrive.

Three pink beams of light streaked through the dark universe like savior meteors, directly hitting the three missiles and causing them to explode.

"What just happened!?"

While everyone was bewildered, the Gundam Kyrios, emitting emerald green GN Particles from its rear, surpassed the Iron Man at an incredible speed, heading straight for the terrorists.

"Ms. Huang's predictions are still impressive! Gundam Kyrios, begin pursuit of the target!" Alleluia exclaimed, as the cockpit screen had already locked onto the two lagging [GN-X].

The savior beams shot out again from the lower abdomen of Gundam Kyrios, directly hitting the two [GN-X], creating a dazzling display of fireworks in the universe, while the last [GN-X] was getting closer and closer to the command room of the Celestial Pillar.

"Suicide attack? These terrorists are truly outrageous," Alleluia cursed. Even Gundam Kyrios couldn't catch up to intercept the [GN-X] in front of it. If they opened fire here, the beam would not only penetrate the [GN-X] but also the entire Celestial Pillar.

However, he was not without options, as he was not fighting alone.

"Tieria!"

With a call, the heavy Gundam Virtue suddenly descended from below the command center, positioning itself between the two, and the high concentration of GN Particles immediately interfered with all nearby radar equipment.

"Gundam Virtue, destroy the target."

The two GN Cannons merged at the chest, shining brightly as the thick beam cannon directly covered the [GN-X], leaving not a single remnant behind.

"Phase three, complete."

"That was a bit too much force, Tieria," Alleluia remarked.

"Ms. Huang's instructions. This is the first appearance of [Celestial Being]; we must grandly proclaim our existence. I agree," Tieria said expressionlessly. If it were anyone else, it would be taken as a joke, but for Tieria, it was merely stating a fact.

"Ah, you guys, one dares to say it, and the other dares to do it," Alleluia commented, as it was just a [GN-X]. They could have taken it down with just the GN Vulcan, yet here they were using the big guns, truly extravagant!

With the mission complete, the two did not linger and quickly left the battlefield, returning to Ptolemaios to await their next task.

In the face of Gundam's speed, the Iron Man could only trail behind, soon disappearing from sight.

"Captain!"

"What was that!?"

"I don't know." The Captain replied, equally puzzled and irritated, "Save the footage; we'll hand it over to the intelligence department for investigation later."

"Understood!"

Sergei also arrived at the command center. After the radar system was restored, he received the recordings sent back by the Iron Man. Sergei couldn't help but exclaim, "As expected of Gundam, its performance is unmatched by any MS at present, not even the [Beiwei]. Yang Hui, you really have created a few monsters."

...

On Earth, at Wang Liu Mei's private island, she did not attend the celebration banquet at the Celestial Pillar due to Yang Hui's presence, instead staying by his side to watch the first mission via remote communication.

"As expected of Gundam Meisters, they perfectly completed the first mission," Wang Liu Mei praised without reservation. This was the power she hoped for, the ability to change the world.

"This is just the beginning," Yang Hui replied, showing little reaction.

"Defeating AEU's new MS with ease, drawing out the AEU's hidden military forces within the orbital elevator and shooting them all down, eliminating the terrorists before the Human Reform League's defense team could respond, saving all the attending dignitaries—doesn't that deserve praise?" Wang Liu Mei questioned.

"With technology two hundred years ahead of the world, the culmination of all [Celestial Being]'s efforts, and the Gundam I re-engineered, if we can't perfectly complete even this level of task, then there's no need to carry on with future missions; we might as well disband on the spot," Meilan stated.

"Oh? Does Myer think that future missions will encounter obstacles?" Wang Liu Mei asked, a slight frown of concern appearing on her brow.

She didn't care whether [Celestial Being]'s plan succeeded or whether the Gundam Meisters lived or died; she only cared about whether the world could be changed. If there was someone she truly cared about within [Celestial Being], it was only the person before her.

"Isn't that obvious? No matter how excellent Gundam is, there are only a few of them. Once the three major powers get serious, things will start to get troublesome," Yang Hui replied.

"Seeing Myer so calm, he must have already thought of a foolproof plan, right?" Wang Liu Mei asked with a smile.

"A foolproof plan is too much to claim; I just have some arrangements. On the battlefield, there's no such thing as a foolproof plan; life and death often hang by a thread," Yang Hui answered.

"I see."

"Well, you don't need to worry too much; at least the first three plans are completely safe. If there really is danger, I will personally step in as insurance."

"Hehe, looking forward to your performance then?"

Yang Hui waved his hand and left, feeling there was no need to linger any longer; he had a lot of work to do.

"By the way, Mr. Yang."

As he was leaving, Wang Liu Mei called out to Yang Hui.

"Mm?" Yang Hui turned around, surprised that she used his real name instead of his code name.

"Can I call you by your real name?"

Yang Hui paused for a moment, rolled his eyes, and replied irritably, "You've already called me that, why ask for my permission?"

"Then I'll take that as your agreement."

Yang Hui helplessly accepted it as tacit approval and waved his hand as he left.

"Finally showing some progress, heehee, as for what comes next..." Wang Liu Mei revealed a genuine smile appropriate for her age, rather than the usual fake smile she wore for everyone.

...

Outside the AEU military testing ground, Billy Katagiri was cornered in his car by Graham, who locked the doors in a quiet spot.

"Graham, can you calm down for a moment?"

"Don't worry, I'm very calm right now, Katagiri. I just want to know if you... know something?"

"Gulp~"

Calm? Why don't you look in the mirror and see what you look like? What does calm have to do with you? With flames burning in his eyes, a grin of excitement on his lips, and hands trembling on the steering wheel, his tone was filled with a terrifying implication of "if you don't speak, I'll do something." It sent chills down Billy Katagiri's spine.

"What? You don't even trust me?" Graham asked, his gaze piercing into Billy Katagiri.

"Uh... it's not about trust..."

"Mm, I see."

Billy Katagiri was about to breathe a sigh of relief, but then he tensed up again as Graham silently pulled out a PAD and found a very familiar number.

"Wait!"

"What? Changed your mind?" Graham's lips curled into a mischievous smile.

"You wouldn't really report me, would you?"

"Guess what?"

I guess you're full of it!

Just as Graham understood Billy Katagiri, Billy Katagiri understood Graham equally well. From his expression, it was clear he was very interested in Gundam—not just the high-performance machine itself, but also the formidable opponents, and finally, the purpose of their actions was intriguing.

On one hand, they aimed to break through AEU's new MS on display, forcing AEU to reveal an excessive number of military forces and shoot them all down to restrain AEU.

On the other hand, they prevented terrorists from attacking the Human Reform League's Celestial Pillar.

This kind of action was filled with contradictions, not resembling the style of any of the three major powers, nor was it the work of armed factions hostile to them. Their motives, their organization—everything unknown made Graham's blood boil with excitement.

"Well... just wait a bit, and you'll find out soon enough," Billy Katagiri had no choice but to compromise. He understood Graham; if he learned of [Celestial Being]'s plan, he would participate at all costs, and there was no way he would leak any information, even as the final cleanup crew.

"Oh? Interesting. Since you say so, I'll wait," Graham replied with great interest.

"Wait a minute, Graham, I remember that the PAD in your hand doesn't have communication functions," Billy Katagiri suddenly realized.

"That's right."

"Then how do you..."

"This? It's just a notepad. You know I'm not good at remembering numbers, so whether it's a contact PAD or a storage PAD, I always record important numbers for future reference."

Seeing the mischievous smile on Graham's face, Billy Katagiri felt like punching that smug expression off him, but alas... he couldn't beat him! o(≧0≦)o.

Suddenly, all the televisions, LED billboards, PADs, and computers around the world crackled and switched to the same image: an elderly man sitting in a chair with a serious expression, addressing the audience.

"It's begun."
