"Urg…What kind of vitamin tastes this bad…" I gulped down a handful of water after I reluctantly ate the medicine Mama had me take a few months ago, she said it was vitamin and that I need to take this regularly, every 1 week, 3 pills each.
Of course, I questioned why she would make me eat this kind of thing since I was perfectly healthy but she said it was a must since I was not on earth and in a colony, though she didn't seem to take the medicine, of course, I research it first before taking it, the brand, the ingredient, everything was all on the internet and people said it tastes bad.
I didn't take it at first and when Mama found out, she was angry, very angry so I just took it, and now it has become my regular routine.
Mama has been weird ever since my 4-year-old birthday. Has she been quite active? No, no, more like…caring? No, not that either. Is she just…weird? She always asked me if I wanted anything, if I wanted to do something or whatnot, and when I answered that it was Coding AI and Mobile Suit, her face would suddenly scrunch up for some reason.
Then she would ask if I wanted to, like making friends to which I would just shrug. I mean there is no point, isn't it? The other is not interesting, there is nothing for me to gain by talking with them; our interests never align, which is why I give her.
Every time she would just nod her head and let me go back to do my things, weirdly, she didn't really care that much before.
"Ah…" I lost concentration, quickly gathered my thoughts again, and focused back on the quiz at hand. As I looked at the Problem, I quickly answered the question without much thinking. Most of these are simple questions; never use something that can't be solved by humans.
Quickly letting my finder move along with my instinct, I quickly stop thinking.

I sit on my Laptop, already linked to the site for the competition, waiting for the competition to start and give my first 3 questions of the day.
Today I was Alone, Mama went out for the first time in a while. Since I rode the bus down to school and back, she didn't need to pick me up or leave me there, so we didn't go out a lot now, mostly just staying in our house.
As the time slowly moves, I watch as the clock strikes 1 in the PM. Signaling the start, Immediately I was given 3 problems, along with the time set of 5 hours.
Quickly I open up the files and start reading through the problem, in no time at all, quickly identifying what I need to do to solve this.
There are 5 very basic but crucial steps to Programming.
1.) Input and Output, understanding what you want to happen, setting the input and output like programming how the pop-up log-in would come out, just like cooking, understanding your ingredients and what the final dish will look like.
2.) Create the test case, just understanding is not enough, you need to experience it, just like how no matter what, the first time you try to do something, it won't come out perfect.
3.) Creating a Solution, once you have experienced failure, now is the time to try and think of a solution, Which one is wrong? What could this lead to? Will the Solution work? Nothing is set in stone after all.
4.) Testing the Solution, use the thing you just wrote or stole and test it again in the Test Case you just made, Find the error, and find if it is correct, or not until you feel your mind numbing.
5.) Debugging. What? The program you just made didn't operate as planned? Well, what are you waiting for? Go put your head into the game and start fixing it, until it no longer has a problem, or until it works, so long as it works then it works, so what?
These are the foundations of creating a program. Just the basics but this is what makes things run, so long as you have mastered these things, it would serve you well.
Sounds complicated? Yeah, that's just the basics, and not some specific stuff which is an entirely new game, but… it's this annoying little thing that keeps the magic of coding going.
And the problem for this competition is just this but multiply it by 10. Makes everything harder, the question is more confusing, and the solutions are harder to find with little hints being dropped in the quest for you to find.
A tiring and skull-numbing process that could be very easy the moment you open the internet, with various codes that have already been prepared and already tested, the effort of thousands of people was open to grab, though, of course, you would need to test and fix the problem if one does arise.
So the first thing to do is analyze the problem.
My first question.
The goal was to calculate the weight of the catfish that could be caught in a grid-layout farm. Then, it needed to calculate how much each grid could catch and the maximum number it could hold.
"Haaa…Alright…once I place it on the top, I will have that computer." letting out the breath I have been holding, I look over at the Doll beside me, slowly petting its head. "Just wait a little longer, alright?" With that, I return my focus back on the problem.

"Nene, Yoha? What are you doing? Can you tell me?" A girl who I do not remember the name of suddenly talked to me. I glanced up from my laptop only to see a smile that was quite irritating, 2 gazes from behind the girl, giving me quite the look.
I simply continue my work as I ignore her, so long as I don't respond, she will leave me alone in peace.
"Eh? Come on, talk to me!" The girl's voice is getting louder and louder, so I simply take my headphones from my bag and start up some white noise to distract me as I continue to work on my code.
Before I noticed it, the girl had already left with her friends and left me alone.
Right now I was focusing on how much my new AI could learn without prompting it, and the result was quite, horrendous. Not only was it learning some useless junk but there was also a lot of misinformation being fed to it by some random asshole who tried to alter the web to make history.
I have to create a Virus that would infect those assholes who try tampering without an admin account, which in turn hurts a lot of people but who cares? Never see them and never know who they are, my virus isn't that dangerous, just inflate it with so much junk information to the point of CPU overheating since it can't handle too much stress.
After the round of virus releases, no one dared to tamper with the web I use again for fear that there would still be viruses remaining, well, there are not really any left.
Well, the experiment was a failure anyway so I won't use that website again, I have much better things to do than stop with failure.
Before I knew it, I heard the ringing of the bell, indicating that class was about to start, though I did not have enough care to store my getup away, the teacher wouldn't care anyway since I would still remain in the first place.
If they have something to say? Well, let's just say I will do something to the school server that would probably be irreparable, like the headmaster's reputation if he somehow got caught watching porn on the campus, or the affair of the English teacher with the principal who was already married.
But well, they are all rich anyway so they won't starve even if they lose their job.
Ah…I lost focus, no good, get it together Yoha, If you mess up during important steps there is going to be so much annoying stuff to go through later.
With my focus regained, I focused on my laptop again.

December 1st / I.J.C. 194 / Stellar Research's colony. Siga-7 / Araya's POV
She…lost. In something that she is practically the best at, the test was..hard but not complicated, even though it was not in her area of expertise, she should have been able to get first place easily, but…she took an hour more than Yoha in total, 4 hours 32 minutes and 53 seconds, is the time it took for Yoha in total to finish all 9 problems across the 3-day competition.
Meanwhile, it took Araya 6 hours and 11 minutes and 34 seconds.
It was…a total loss, even though they left behind others who took over 10 hours but still…
Looking at the new computer freshly unpacked, she checked all the specs that Yoha had requested. Everything was so expensive too, almost 3 thousand credits for one computer…
She could hear a mocking laugh from that old bastard from afar, laughing at her. She not only lost but came to ask him for more money…
Urg…how did the gentle and kind Ms. Kylie feel for such a man?
But that is not important, what is important right now is how fuck of a situation she is in right now.
She knows what would happen if, for some reason, Yoha managed to achieve her goal. AI is not something to be played with, Araya didn't know for sure where Yoha's obsession with AI and Mobile suits came from.
She is not the best mother. She never has the time to take care of her child every day like a normal mother should and that results in her not knowing if her child likes something or how it begins.
She knows that Yoha has shown signs of interest since she was two years old, but she still thinks it's normal…
No, she never knows what normal means, not normal people, children, or mothers. Her normal is to be detached from her milk mother, never truly knowing what her mother looks like since she is long dead after the birth of her little brother.
In a family where people got abused every day, her younger brother was probably the most normal one out of the family.
"Haa…so troublesome." She glanced up at the clock, seeing that it was 4 P.m., meaning Yoha would be here soon….Hah…Welp, it's ok. She may be a genius but without real specific equipment, she won't be able to make something dangerous."
With that to ease her mind, Araya leaves her daughter's room to grab some coffee and wait for her daughter to come home.
