Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 158 Distant Past and Present_2

"Envoy, this is the capital of Jade Skirt, and the natural environment is acceptable, but if you go north from here, it's not so optimistic," a accompanying official explained.

"That is truly regrettable," he said, and no longer paid attention to the surrounding landscape and environment, but entered the waiting hover car with the group of people in white robes behind him, and then the convoy headed towards the predetermined destination. Edith Academy, central building.

"Tilan, come, let's get you dressed first," several teachers and staff members from the academy gathered around the protagonist of the day to see the makeup artist, and then everyone helped her comb her hair again, then matched her with suitable and not too extravagant accessories, and finally painted a lighter makeup on Tilan.

When everything was done, Tilan looked at the girl in the mirror wearing slightly extravagant clothes, with a pearl light veil on her head, a blue tear pendant on her brow, and dressed in a light gauze of snow and gold flowers, almost unable to recognize herself.

"Isn't this too lavish?" she lifted her sleeve, the azure gown was not only extremely precious, but even the thread was specially made elf gold silk thread, which shone with the faint golden light spots.

"Not at all, the bunch from the Central Council likes this," a senior teacher said.

"I visited when I was younger, and was fortunate to visit the 'Golden Flame Grand Cathedral.' The priests there like this style of dress because of Princess Isenisha; they value gold and particularly like gold leaves, gold flowers, and gold threads. Later, the Songstresses' formal attire also often included these elements."

"If your attire is too plain, they won't like it and will think it's petty. In their view, a Songstress should be generous and majestic, showing a noble front."

"Alright then," Tilan, who was unfamiliar with this, nodded.

Soon after, the building went into lockdown and became quiet, while Tilan, in her long gown, waited in the room until someone came to inform her.

"Your Highness Tilan, please come with us."

The ones who entered the room were not only the two existing maids from Edith Academy but also two young Priestesses dressed in fitted robes. They wore snow-white gowns with gold vine patterns on the slightly wider belts at the waist, and on the sleeves, there were two circles of golden leaves. The neckline also had patterns of golden leaves.

The two maids helped Tilan lift the hem of her gown, while the two Priestesses led the way through hallways guarded by armed personnel, and the group arrived at the central hall, where the chairs and facilities that were originally there had been removed and transformed into an entirely different setup.

In the center of the main wall of the grand hall was an incredibly lush golden tree, its life-like projection reflecting golden light, each leaf clear and distinct. Flanking the tree on both sides stood about 40 priests in white robes with golden flowers.

A figure slightly taller stood with his back to everyone under the tree; as Tilan, guided by the Priestesses, stepped closer to the tree, he slowly turned around.

This was an extremely handsome Elf Priest, his brow always glimmering faintly with golden light, forming a special mark, and his platinblonde hair betrayed that his actual age might not be as young as he looked.

The Priest watched Tilan walk towards him, his gaze fixed, until the girl was just five meters away, at which point he closed his eyes.

"Welcome, new Chanter, Hexia Tilan,"

Then the priests present sang together, "Holy Hearing, Holy Sound, Holy Purity, the Perennial Flower blooms, the Evergreen Leaves thrive; girl who prays for the World Tree, your beauty and radiance forever guide the lives beneath the tree, Isenisha—"

"Isenisha—"

"Isenisha—"

The sacred song echoed in the hall like reverberation, so solemn and awe-inspiring.

Faced with such a scene, the girl was a bit unsure of how to respond, as no one had informed her of these details prior; she simply stood still and waited.

Eventually, after several echo-like chants, the central Elf High Priest raised an arm, silencing everyone.

"Hexia Tilan, you have received Princess Isenisha's recognition, and you are a person with special talent. Now, do you swear to use the power of the Chanter to maintain the integrity of the Federation and to lead us all towards a harmonious and beautiful future?"

"I do," the girl replied softly, bowing her head. That simple sentence echoed in the hall as if there were reverberations, and every priest present could hear this heartful voice, so sincere.

"You are fortunate and good, and we are willing to bless you and walk with you."

"Lift up your head, child born beneath the World Tree, descendant sheltered by the Golden Rose, the newborn Chanter, you now have the right to look up squarely."

Upon hearing this voice, the girl lifted her head.

"We shall guard you and escort you to the Land of Inheritance to listen to the voice of the past Chanters and witness the prayers of countless beings."

"This will be your mission and your beauty, and we must first crown you with a sacred garland, so you remain untainted by corruption," the pronouncement finished, he opened his hands again, and the golden tree behind him slowly faded, with the entire hall gradually returning to its usual style and atmosphere.

After the conclusion of the brief yet solemn ceremony, the High Priest signaled for Tilan to stay behind for a moment, then waved his arm, instructing everyone present to leave.

Soon, the vast and empty hall was left with just the two of them.
