Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 148: Chapter 91: The Resounding Fame

"Something has happened to Juliu City."

In the center of the venue, on the tall Red Tower, a man dressed in black and wearing a metal mask gazed out the window. A special beam of light penetrated the bottom floor, rising. It was the highest warning. If this had happened in the distant past, the region for hundreds of miles around would have entered a state of alert, and the surrounding checkpoints would have started to block off.

"Sun Burning City, huh? Only they would do something like this. It seems they have discovered the 'Loach' hidden in Juliu City."

"Two years ago, the T2-level AI manager 'Black Moon' of Sun Burning City reached its system limit and self-destructed. Since then, the various facilities within Sun Burning City gradually spiraled out of control, the Aijieka Particles interfering with each other and affecting everything. The entire region entered a state of decay, and this time, they are likely intending to steal our Jielou City's hidden T2-level AI 'Loach' to repair the management system of Sun Burning City," said an old man standing beside the man in black, bowing his head in response.

Now, every city within the Federation was equipped with T2-level super AIs. They received information from all aspects of the city, processed it, and made optimizations. This greatly improved the efficiency of transportation, industry, life, and all other aspects within the city. It was an indispensable part of modern life.

The Northern Second District was a special case; they were in a semi-autonomous state. The government of the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain had also stated that they would not supply any new T2-level AI main brains to the Northern Second District, thereby urging its residents to move out as soon as possible.

However, the remaining three main cities in the Northern Second District were still persevering with the old T2-level AIs from their cities, not complying with the suggestions of the Star Domain government.

"Bring up the imagery," the man commanded, looking down at the meeting place below, which was slowly dispersing. His sword scabbard struck the floor with a sound.

"Yes, Your Honor." The guards unrolled a large scroll, which revealed the situation in the Underground Core Zone.

The vanguard black-robed priests were battling with the 'Giant Spirit Generals.' Black feathers fluttered, and the blazing Blaze Lightsabers gradually dismembered the 'Giant Spirit Generals.' However, during this time, they also lost four people; some were scorched by the 'Giant Spirit General's' flowing blue-green electric fire blades, while others were directly smashed by the swinging arms and fell to the ground.

"They are merely fighting the inevitable, a cornered beast's struggle. This is Sun Burning City's last stand," said the man in the mask, watching the scene with a calm and composed voice.

"How pitiable, it evokes a sense of sorrow for one's kin." Although Jielou City could still hold on for now, how long could such a situation last?

"After the two Giant Spirit Generals fall, let the 'Godly Generals' remaining in the city take action."

"Yes, Your Honor."

The reason they didn't take action now was that the AI controlling the Giant Spirit Generals was a quite outdated model. Its friend-foe recognition and differentiation in attacking were not good, leading to a risk of friendly fire.

In the Underground Core Zone, the small car drove straight for a while before stopping at a corner of the palace complex.

Regardless, continuing forward would be too conspicuous and dangerous, and there was a high risk of being accidentally injured.

"The battle has already started up ahead; let's detour from the side," suggested Feng Jianxue, watching the battle unfolding in the distance.

"Does Mr. Feng Jianxue know the way in from the side?" Hexia asked, lifting the large spider and looking towards the distance before the window grill.

"It's different from the outer checkpoint. I am more familiar with the structure and the seals inside," Feng Jianxue explained.

"Because I come from such a heritage family, I have many connections with your ancestors. And the technology of the Forbidden City that safeguards Divine Swords is uniform, having been summarized and refined by people from a thousand years ago."

"There may have been individual improvements over time, but the overall situation won't differ much. Follow me," he said, then started moving.

"Mhm," Hexia nodded, glanced at the battling city gate, and trailed her fingertips over the window sill, leaving behind a bit of faint blue crystal powder.

As they traversed the palace complex, they saw more Jielou City guards grabbing their weapons and heading towards the battlefield; 'Godly Generals' guarded some key entrances and exits.

Fortunately, the two changed into the attire of the supporting guards and passed through the crowd with ease. After all, both had East Asian ancestry, and there was nothing unusual about their facial features or accents, which were hard for outsiders to imitate.

Following the stream of people, they arrived near the front lines. Gunfire and sparks were everywhere; Hexia even saw a dark-gold Dragon Head Cannon being slowly pushed up a slope.

The dragon's head was raised high, its eyes and gaping mouth emitting bright halos of light. After fiercely inhaling the Aijieka Particles from the surrounding air into its core, the cannon, through the magic conversion patterns, created a boiling and highly destructive Magic Power. Mixed with the particle flow stimulated by the internal crystals, it fired simultaneously, forming an intense gold-red beam.

With one blast, five black-robed priests were reduced to ash, leaving pitch-black pockmarks burned into the wall of the Forbidden City behind them.

With less than twenty black-robed priests left on the battlefield, the sound of whirring propellers came from the sky as Sun Burning City's last batch of reinforcements arrived; there were about sixteen of them. Holding onto the handles of rotary-wing drones with one hand, and carrying long rocket launchers in the other, they aimed at the guards outside the Forbidden City and fired. The fiery trails tore through the sky, exploding amongst the crowds, and also destroyed the Dragon Head Cannon which had just been fired.

"Charge!" As the Giant Spirit Generals slowly toppled, no longer able to block the city gate, the black-robed priests, with their remaining companions, fiercely rushed towards the broken entrance and leapt in.

Even though enemies entered, the guards outside the city hesitated to recklessly charge into the Forbidden City because, according to the rules, only the Godly Generals and Sword Guardians could enter this city.

"Stand down for now and guard the perimeter; in the narrow confines of the city, more people doesn't necessarily mean better," a leading figure stepped forward, and under his command, the several hundred guards who had rushed to provide support stopped in their tracks and reorganized their defenses in front of the city gate.

While they began to clean up the battlefield and remain alert for any support from Sun Burning City, Feng Jianxue, accompanied by Hexia, zigzagged through a stretch of crimson bamboo forest and arrived at a side door on the other side of the Forbidden City. Your next read awaits at M-V-L

"Wait a moment, I'll check," Feng Jianxue said, even though he knew the way to bypass the protections, he decided to take out that hacker chip again just to be safe.

A few minutes later, he set down his personal terminal, gave a hand signal to Hexia, and then pressed against the pale blue riveted door. With a stream of faint blue magic power flowing in, the door slowly lifted.

"Quick, we don't have much time, just grab the stuff and get out," Feng Jianxue urged Hexia, then he dashed into the door.

Moving like a shadow, he was here one moment and several hundred meters away the next, leaving Hexia unable to keep up.

Fortunately, this side door had been sealed for a long time and there weren't any guards nearby. The few security cameras and Autonomous Units there had already been taken care of by Feng Jianxue beforehand, allowing Hexia to simply walk through.

Deep underground, the lighting was not bright, and the Forbidden City cloaked in red mist had a quiet unlike that of the outside world. It seemed that few residents lived here, with only a few spots where Hexia needed to avoid in advance.

Gradually, as they delved deeper, the surroundings became quieter, and Hexia could no longer see Feng Jianxue. She only relied on the small locator he had left behind to confirm the general direction and distance.

If there were any points of interest along the way, Feng Jianxue would only speak up to alert her through the earpiece.

On the main street at the other side, about a hundred 'Godly Generals' clad in Golden Copper Bright Armor and wielding specially crafted Transcendent Blades stood on both sides of the streets. They advanced in formation, their presence thunderous, charging directly at those black-robed priests who had infiltrated the Forbidden City.

Compared to the 'Godly Generals' outside, these stationed here were much more elite and official, donning not the so-called ceremonial Five-colored Armor, but Ancient Armor that held true significance in combat. The weapons in their hands were also special blades forged from transcendent materials.

Rat-tat-tat—

A series of machine-gun bullets shot at these 'Godly Generals', resulting only in tiny sparks splattering off the Mountain Pattern Scale Armor, and then the 'Godly Generals' let out a collective shout. The green and red masks on their faces bled with colors, immediately rendering the front row black-robed priests as if they were struck by lightning, their bodies stiffening before being hacked to pieces.

"Damn!"

Seeing that their firearms were ineffective, the leading black-robed priest tossed his aside and took out a special black spike from his waist.

"The beauty of pain…"

Concentrating, he muttered as he inserted the black spike into the bone in his own chest. Only in this way could they resist the 'Godly Generals'' Suppressing Divine Technique. Soon after, his comrades also set down their firearms, converged forward, and lined up to extract special black spikes, then uniformly pushed them into their own breastbones.

An excruciating pain that pierced to the marrow hit them instantly, yet their spirits were jolted; the previously stiffened thoughts and souls broke through the suppression once more, becoming active and excited.

"Only pain is this real…" Chanting the motto of the Angels of Pain, these black-robed priests once again drew their Light Sabers to battle with the 'Godly Generals'.

"Heh, did you really think you're the only ones who could rely on external help?" the leading painted-faced commander scoffed and sneered as he watched the priests with Light Sabers.

With one hand, he opened up his armor to reveal his exceedingly strong arms and muscles. These muscles, however, were painted with special blue pigments and were interlaced with golden threads.

These golden threads were a type of biomechanical implant that could strengthen an individual's power and quickly transfer more energy to all muscles, allowing those with the implants to tear apart steel and tanks.

Under the leadership of this commander, the hundred 'Godly Generals' also promptly stripped off their cumbersome Golden Copper Armor, revealing arms and chests covered with green and red patterns. The previous armor not only failed to block the swing of Light Sabers but also greatly hindered their agility.

"For heaven to strike down evil, grant us the inexorable might of the Heavenly Soldier Generals!"

As they bellowed in unison, golden light suddenly burst from their pupils, and the golden patterns on their bodies seemed to come alive, resembling ghostly faces with divine eyes, as faint smoke drifted up.

At the same time, the Aijieka Particles in the surrounding space slowed down, continuously being absorbed into the intricate patterns on their surfaces and transformed into a unique magic power.

Waves of surging magic power kicked up a gentle breeze on the street. As these hundred fierce warriors roared and marched forward, it was like the rumbling of thunder, causing the black-robed priests' Light Sabers to dim, their black flames trembling on the verge of extinguishment.

Golden Divine Electricity wound around the blades, and with each strike, it was like a thunderbolt, the golden electricity overflowing and fierce sparks exploding.

Wherever these 'Godly Generals' went, the enemy was cut down, torn apart, turning into charred chunks. In just half a minute, not a single black-robed priest left alive could be seen in the Forbidden City.

They were like heavenly warriors, their prowess awe-inspiring.
