Chapter 4.

After getting his wound treated, Lucian comes out of the apothecary.

Callum is there waiting for him, so he skulks toward him and asks. "Auntie Diana, I can't find her anywhere. Has she left?"

Calum was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even hear the door open a few steps away, but was startled when the voice sounded right next to his ear : "Aish.. you startled me." he turned to see the sly smile on his friend's face that had surprised him, and then taking a deep breath he replied, "Yeah, she said she didn't like standing in the heat."

"That may be true." Lucian bursts out laughing at the reason Diana left, and then says, "But maybe she left because she was annoyed with Angela."

"So, what do you say? Wanna bet on this?" Callum suddenly asked, draping his arm around Lucian's neck, and they started moving from there, and after a few minutes they came to a crossroads in the town. From where both their houses were in different directions.

"Lucy, it would be better if you rest tomorrow, because the better condition you will be for the hunt three three days later, the better reward you'll be able to fetch." Callum says looking at Lucien, who was now about to walk on the other side of the road which led to his house; "I will try and talk to the battalion commander about this."

Lucian stops in his tracks after hearing Callum, and looking back at his friend's face where there was no trace of mockery, he says, "Got it, thanks for this Callum."

Although he did not know how Callum was going to talk to a battalion commander who was far above the reach of having conversation for both him and Callum, but since he could see his determination by looking at his facial expressions, he does not look for a reason to not trust him this time too.

Then bidding farewell to callum, he walks towards his house.

And anyway this one day rest could complete many of his tasks, though he had all the information from the memories of his predecessor, but whether his body works according to his thoughts and commands or not? This was yet to be seen.

According to his predecessor's memories, his house was at the edge of the city, where most of the houses belonged to the farmers.

The predecessor of his wanted to rent a house near Callum's house after becoming an inseprabel duo, but when he heard the rent there, he realized how wonderful it was to have wealthy parents.

At the time, Callum was living alone after his parents passed away, and had asked his predecessor to live with him in his house. It was a big house, so naturally multiple people could live there, but for some reason his predecessor strongly refused.

'What could be the reason, that he won't even stay with a friend of his own?' Lucian wondered, as he approached the house; but suddenly he saw someone in a cloak standing in front of it, seeming as if that person was wanting to see through the small window in the right corner.

"Now, who is this?" Lucian said, swaggering forward. He could feel from the figure hideen beneath the cloak that it was a woman,the allure of that hidden treasure was enough, but he could not remember a woman ever visiting his house before.

Lucian, recalling the memories of his predecessor, and asked softly, "Are you looking for someone?"

Hearing Lucian's voice, the person in question immediatly turned around, and before Lucian could even react, that person embraced him all of a sudden.

Still a bit skeptical about the gender and wondering why a man or woman would come to his house, Lucian was finally able to reach the conclusion that the person forcibly embracing was a woman.

As soon as the person embraced him, a seductive scent wafted inside his nostrils. smelling which he couldn't help but feek that he knows the scent, but at the same time, the soft pair of breasts pressed against his chest helped him reach the conclusion. "Excuse me, but you can't do this to just anyone," Lucian said, trying to push the woman away.

At the same time he looked around to see if any of his neighbors were outside, as this might be a plan to trap him.

But suddenly, a familiar voice sounded in his ears, destroying any possibility that this was all a trap.

"Honey Lucian, are you okay? I heard that my pig-man husband beat you up in the name of training. I'm so sorry this happened to you." The woman suddenly said, lifting her head slightly which was resting on Lucian's chest to look up at him, revealing her beautiful, watery green eyes.

It was her, and the moment Lucian saw the woman's face, the memory of his predecessor being beaten came flooding back to him, along with a surge of payback.

"Madame Effie, it is you! What are you doing here?" Lucien immediately changed his attitude when he realized who this person was.

This person was the sole reason why his predecessor was hit like a dog, but even if he was dead drunk at the moment, there was one thing that he couldn't deny.

'What the hell? How on earth is this woman so strong?' The woman's embrace was too strong for someone as emotionally wounded as she appeared.

Still resisting a little in her embrace, Lucian said. "Madame Effie, if you don't mind, let's talk inside. If someone sees you embracing me like this, I might really die this time." Lucien was trying to imitate the behavior of his predecessor who acted like a lost puppy in front of her, but it was still more likely that he would die too becasue of her if someone saw him with her.

If that were to happen, he will not be able to get any revenge for his poor predecessor.

"Ara, I can't let my sweet Lucien die like that. But you're right, i shouldn't cause any trouble for my sweet lucian. So let's go and talk inside."
