Midnight Prince: Empire of Sin

Chapter 456: WALK OF SHAME

The ride back to Natasha's home was both a relaxing and joyous time for the pair of lovers, fresh out of a night of intimacy and lovemaking. They had officialized their relatively complicated relationship through this heart-to-heart session, which involved frolicking each other with their bodies, and were now starting a new chapter of their relationship.

Natasha, for the first time in a long, long while, was looking out to the future ahead of her. She had the explicit feeling that she could already imagine herself laughing and fighting against Sae for Adam's attention and love while uniting with her to test and filter out any possible vixen that would intervene in their love life and the bonds they shared with each other.

This new vision of the future gave her more courage and inner strength to face her life and death crisis that was dawning upon her with each passing day. She could feel that Fenrir was not all that scary any longer. It wasn't even like she was actually going to face the true one now, was she? She suddenly got the strength and belief in her heart to face this foe that she had been dreading for the majority of her life.

'Very well. I can do it…'

With such thoughts churning in the depths of her now clear mind, the drive continued without much intervention from outside forces. At least— that was the case until Adam reminded Natasha of something that she had entirely forgotten about.

"Your house is filled with werewolves, right?"

"Huh?"

"Aren't you forgetting something, my love?"

Natasha looked at Adam as if he had gone crazy or something along those lines and was about to tell him that she did know that her house was filled with—

"Ah…"

Finally, she realized the hidden meaning behind her lover's words and immediately covered her face in embarrassment, shame, and fright

"Fuck…"

"How bold. So you wanna do it another time? We don't really have the time though…"

Adam joked and while Natasha was more on the serious side, she did let out some small chuckles even though she knew that this was not the time for jokes of any kind

"In the end, it doesn't really matter now, does it? I will just be a little embarrassed and ashamed of my conduct. I will just have to suck it up…"

There wasn't much she could do or wished to do about the situation at hand and she could only let things go and continue as they were.

When they finally reached the vicinity of Natasha's house, she hesitated a little before giving a kiss on Adam's lips— a deep and passionate kiss that could only be shared between lovers who were deep in love with each other.

"I believe it would be better to stop here. It would be pretty complicated to stand in front of my parents while the two of us reek of sex, right?"

Adam chuckled to himself at her words; he didn't think this would honestly be much of a problem but he had no desire to push Natasha right now. Not when she was feeling so embarrassed and ashamed…

"It seems like my meeting with them will have to wait for now. Ah…"

He stopped. "Before I forget, I don't mind if you tell anything to anyone. But don't talk about my secret identity to your parents yet, alright? I will be honest with you, since we know there is a leak on your side, it's better to not let them know how powerful I am. Also— "

He brought his hand forward and caressed Natasha's face lovingly before speaking in a reassuring tone, "Act contrite, tired, and sad. Only someone crazy or someone who has hope would be happy in the situation you are in currently. You need to mislead everyone into believing that you have accepted your fate and making preparations for the afterlife. We can't show the traitor our hand now, can we?"

"Mislead them, huh… I have to say this, Adam, I don't really like such indirect and deceitful means."

Natasha smiled bitterly, she was a criminal and while not to the same extent as Mikhail, she did dip her hands in some minor criminal activities— things that would make her go to jail for at least a decade or two…

In the end, trying to act all righteous now was pretty funny of her and she knew of that more than anyone else in the world.

"I will do it. Since you have a plan, I will comply…"

In the end, she was a rational woman who rarely let her emotions take control of the situation or her mind. It was important to know when to advance and when to retreat in any given situation. And Natasha believed herself to be a woman who knew how to act accordingly…

She didn't really have to act hard to show sadness and despair. This was something that had been plaguing her every day for most of her life, until this morning that is… when she woke up in Adam's arms and shared their feelings and love for each other as they made more love in the bathroom.

"Very well."

His eyes flickered as he looked in a certain direction and smiled to himself.

Watching Adam's car speed up in the distance, Natasha sighed as she looked behind her where someone she knew very well was hiding herself.n-(1n

"Fedora, come out already. Did you truly think you could fool my senses? Same for you, mom. Stop acting childishly…"

"Sis.."

Fedora whined as she walked out of her hiding spot. However, she was not alone. Behind her was an alluring silver-haired mature woman with shining red eyes smiling at her, her smile stretching from ear to ear as she looked at her daughter…

"My dear and lovely daughter; You truly have wonderful taste, Mom approves… Mom approves very much…!"

Marfa, wife of Antonius and mother of the five wolf siblings of the Great Wolves family. She was the kind of woman who looked more like an airhead than anything else. At least, at first glance that is. However, she was also one of the few people whose wisdom and power could never be denied in the entirety of the Shapeshifting paradigm.

After all, she managed to become an Alpha by her own means by killing the leader of a pack all by herself, and that too by confronting the whole pack with her own might. She was special…

"So this is the Adam you always talked about in the past, right? My, how moving~ Who would have thought that the one you only saw as a friend in the past would become your boyfriend in the end? This feels like right out of a youth drama show. How dreamy~!"

Natasha ignored her mother who kept gushing like a young teenager and asked the important question that needed to be addressed in this situation.

"Were you able to get it?"

Hearing her words, Marfa stopped joking around and nodded her head in a somber mood.

Even Fedora stopped fidgeting. She generally wasn't privy to such discussion. So it was surprising to hear about this.

As such, she decided to simply shut up and listen.
