MHA: Villains Need A Hero Too

Chapter 18: A Friend Lost

"I thought you said we could go home now," Yuno was getting really, really close to punching Kisu through the wall of the train. "So where are we going?"

Kisu sheepishly grinned, turning away and scratching her cheek nervously. All Yuno could do was pinch the bridge of his nose, slightly annoyed, and grumble to himself; Kisu had literally strapped his wrist to her own and implied that she would not untie him until they arrived at their destination, which he had no clue where they were going. One second, he was in front of his house, unlocking the door, and next thing he knew, he felt something on his wrist tug him away. He didn't realize that it was Kisu who did that until they were in front of the station, she had quite literally tied them together so he wouldn't run back home.

"I said I would meet up with a friend." Kisu said, holding her free hand up to defend herself in case Yuno attacked her. "Don't yell at me though; I completely forgot about them while we were at the beach and I thought, hey, maybe I could bring you along and— Are you listening to me?!"

"No, I'm not," Yuno replied as blunt as possible. "Because frankly, I should be at home, studying, buying a new PC, and sleeping to my heart's content right now. If it weren't for you, I would be doing all three of those things simultaneously in the comfort of my own home."

"Okay, dramatic. And we all know you don't sleep and you can't do all of those things at the same time; it's impossible."

Yuno huffed and rolled his eyes. Clearly, he wasn't getting away anytime soon, and he wouldn't be escaping embarrassment anytime soon. People were already staring at him and Kisu, assumingly, most likely, wondering why the hell the the two were tied together.

"The least you can do is tell who you're meeting up with." Yuno said, more demanded really.

Kisu rubbed the back of her head, an unsure sound escaping her lips. "You might get mad, cause they're really social. Don't get mad?"

"No promises."

"Fine." Kisu exasperated her sigh and drooped her head in shame. "It's Bakugo, Kirishima, and Kaminari."

"Excuse me?"

"Bakugo—"

"You can't be serious."

"Kaminari—"

"You thought it'd be a good idea."

"And Kirishima."

"To bring me along."

Kisu hid behind her hair, pulling white strands to cover her face as if it could protect her. An angry Yuno was not a fun Yuno to deal with, and she's never gotten the handle on what to do when he's angry. She could feel his eyes peering into him like daggers, boring into her very soul.

"Why couldn't I just stay home?" Yuno asked, and he was going to get an answer whether he had to force it out her or not.

Thankfully, he didn't have to make Kisu answer him. "Because half an hour at the beach isn't nearly enough outdoor time. You need to actually get out of the house, out of the neighborhood."

Yuno frowned at that. Why was she always right? He knew that just being in the neighborhood wasn't enough to be actually healthy. But he was fine, maybe not the healthiest of people, but he was alive and fine. In fact, he preferred to stay in the neighborhood; if he spends to much time away, he's realized that he'll start becoming guarded, more so than he already is. He'll start thinking everyone is an enemy and will hurt him if he even looks at them wrong.

"No one's going to hurt you." Yuno hadn't realized he was mumbling to himself aloud. "They won't hurt you, because I won't let them. And you know Kaminari, he's nice. He knows how to handle Bakugo and so does Kirishima. I'll make sure to let them know that Bakugo is a little loud for you, okay? He won't hurt you either."

Yuno pinched his brows together, unsure of the confirmation he was being given. "How do you know that? Everyone says they won't hurt me, and then they try to hurt me later."

"Who is 'everyone?'"

Yuno closed his eyes and shuddered, that was all Kisu needed in response. She gripped Yuno's hand, further locking them together and giving him a reason to squeeze her hand back. He did, and when he opened his eyes again, he began looking for something to focus on. There were so many people in the train, it was so full and he hated it.

"Yuno," Kisu called out. "Who is 'everyone' supposed to be? They're not trying to move you with them, are they?"

"No." The brunette shook his head, almost rapidly before he buried his face in his free hand, ruffling his hair. "No, they're not. I haven't seen them since they moved away."

"Then who are you talking about?"

"I don't know, Kisu. I don't know who it is, it just feels like the moment I turn around, someone will grab me from behind and I'll be dragged away. If that happens, I'll end up in that damn room again; I don't ever want to relive that."

Wait, what room was he talking about? Kisu had a small idea, he had mumbled about it at one point, and she'd seen rough drawings of said room on Yuno's desk as well. In the picture she remembered, it was a cube, and it was gray inside with square tiles all over the room; the ground, the walls, even the ceiling. In one of the corners was a bed, or a table? It was obviously meant to be laid or sat on. She could vaguely remember messy splotches of water on the picture, as if they represented blood.

Kisu didn't worry about it though, Yuno was always drawing odd things to help him stay calm, it gave him something to do without scratching or pinching at himself. She had just shrugged it off and left it there and continued on with her task during the time.

"What room? What place?" Now, her curiosity was being fueled by gasoline and something was fanning at the flame. "You've never mentioned that before."

"I don't want to talk about it." Yuno said it so fast, he had to let out a burst of breath before inhaling a large gasp. "I'm not going to talk about it, never. I don't ever want it to talk about it again, so don't ask."

"That's not fair." Yuno turned his head to Kisu, his eyes widened a bit in disbelief. Unfair how? Flickered across his lips but he didn't say it aloud. "You can't just say something like that, and then not explain it to me."

Kisu could feel Yuno's tied up hand shaking; it wasn't a tremble of fear, that felt different, almost uncontrolled. She didn't believe it to be anger either, he doesn't get like that when he's mad. The tremor in his hand felt similiar to that of when someone is drugged, injected with a thick liquid substance that slowly kills the person. She would know, she's seen things like that before.

She watched as Yuno brought his other hand to grip his wrist, trying to force the shaking to stop. He scowled when it just kept trembling against Kisu's hand. Even through the gloves, Kisu could tell that his nails were digging into his skin, leaving half moons in its wake.

"Why are you shaking so much?" Kisu raised a brow, worry written over we features.

Yuno grit his teeth. Even if forcing the shaking to stop wasn't working, he kept trying his damn hardest to make it stop. "It just…happens. I told you, I don't want to talk about."

"Did you eat something weird? Were you poisoned or something? I'm the one who made breakfast this morning. Did you get ahold of a drug or what?"

"I said stop." That shut Kisu up. "Stop talking. Don't question why it's happening. It's not something you can fix, it'll stop on its own. It just happens, don't ask me about it anymore."

Never, never, he's never going to speak of that with Kisu. The amount of times he's dreamed of that same room with blood splattered everywhere, he's lost count really. He barely escaped that stupid project his parents had alive, Yume could hardly walk with how light her head was, practically high on whatever the hell she'd been given. Yuno never understood the point of that project, maybe it was an endurance training of some sort, see how much they could handle without dying. The blood on the walls had been his own blood mixed with his sister's and bile, it reeked with a stench that could never be washed out. Part of him wondered if that room was still there, and if it was, could he burn it down?

"I'll drop the subject," Kisu said, thank god. "But when it's just you and me alone, sometime in the future, I need to know whatever the hell this 'room' is." God damn it.

"I can't, nor will I voluntarily say." Yuno couldn't glare at Kisu, not again, but he tried to. "Just referring to it sends shivers down my spine. I can't talk about that freely."

It feels like it's happening all over again when I do.

Kisu rolled her eyes, upset by the lack of understanding and explaining. "Whatever, do what you have to, I guess. It's not like all I do for you is not out of the goodness of my heart."

Yuno hates the way she sounded when she said that.

—————

"You slowpoke bastard, what the fuck took you so long?"

Yuno couldn't help but flinch when Bakugo spoke to Kisu, he sounded angry, like his father did when Yuno didn't come home on time, late by a couple minutes. He knew, mostly, that the younger didn't mean any harm, but it doesn't mean Yuno wasn't at least surprised by the outburst. Ever the observant student, Kaminari noticed the slight jerk of Yuno's shoulders as Bakugo kept shouting at Kisu; they were in the middle of a mall, attracting attention too.

"Hey, Bakugo!" Kaminari smiled and placed a hand on Bakugo's shoulder. "Calm down, let's all just go get lunch and then we can go to one of those stores you want to explore."

Dropping the subject, Kisu untied Yuno's hand from hers and smiled. "That sounds like a great idea. Since Bakugo started it, he can pay!"

"That's not how this works, you extra!"

Bakugo began chasing Kisu, he was right on her tail with an explosion in his hand. Kisu, of course, only ran because it made her laugh like a hyena. Kisu's teasing further pissed off Bakugo, but it's not like she cared for the eyes staring at them; she only kept provoking Bakugo. Kirishima, being the babysitter of friend he is, was following the two of them around, just to make sure they didn't actually kill each other.

"Oh, now she decides I'm free to go." Yuno mumbled to himself as he rubbed his wrist, the one that kept shaking against Kisu's hand.

Yuno's train of thought came to a halt when an elbow nudged his side gently. He lifted his head and turned to see Kaminari smiling kindly at him, giving a small wave. Yuno waved back, awkwardly, because he didn't understand the gesture when they were just a standing less than a meter away from each other.

"How are you doing?" Kaminari asked, his eyes landing on Yuno's hand which was still rubbing at his wrist. He was perceptive, that was for sure. It's like the bodily language was his expertise.

"Fine." Yuno immediately dropped his hands to his side. Avoiding any further question, Yuno began scanning the area for Kisu; she was somewhere in the crowd, he knew, but nowhere in sight.

"They won't be coming back to pick us up anytime soon." Kaminari said, sitting down on a bench nearby. "They live in their own world."

"Why do you keep talking to me like that?"

Kaminari tilted his head in comfusion, like a lost puppy. Yuno saw the way he hesitated to answer, every so slightly furrowing his brows before reaching up to run his neck and laughing awkwardly.

"Why wouldn't I talk to you? I just wanted to let you know that looking for those guys is impossible when they start arguing. Believe me, I've tried. I usually get left behind too, so it's nice to have someone I can talk to."

A small "oh" escaped Yuno's lips. He took a few strides toward the bench and sat down, just a little ways from Kaminari. He didn't say anything, not wanting to disturb the silence; he really just didn't know what to say.

"You're shaking." Kaminari pointed out, staring at Yuno's hands. "Are you okay?"

Yuno gripped his palm, mentally begging himself to stop trembling, stop the tremors in his hand from becoming noticeable. From the the tips of his fingers to his wrist, it felt numb, like his sense of feeling was completely gone. Vaguely, his fingers could tell that there was something compressing his hands, that being the gloves he wore. He didn't know what caused his tremors to come back, perhaps it was something he ate; he hasn't had any caffeine, not much at least if you don't count the dozens of empty of a cans in his room. Actually, that was probably what brought on the trembling again.

"Fuck…" Yuno mumbled under his breath. The curse surprised Kaminari, he never expected someone like Yuno to be throwing words around like that. He watched as Yuno began pinching and twisting at his fingers and panicked.

"Hey, don't do that!" Kaminari truly didn't mean to make Yuno flinch when he took ahold of his shaking hands. He grimaced at the way the other jerked at the sudden yell too. "Here, just don't clench your fingers."

Although he was skeptical, Yuno let his hands fall loose in Kaminari's, allowing the blond to do whatever he may have wanted to do. He pressed his thumbs into Yuno's palms gently, rubbing up and down to get blood flowing. He took his fingers and lightly squeezed, then manipulated them to curl into a fist before letting them loosen again.

"For a star student, you don't much about medical care, do you?" Kaminari sounded as if he were teasing Yuno as he continued massaging his hands.

"What would I need it for? I'm not going to be a hero anytime soon." Yuno replied, resentment as clear as day in his voice and he briefly scowled. "What do you have this knowledge for?"

"Me? I lose feeling in my finger sometimes. My Quirk, Electrification, it's kind of annoying. I'm sure you can figure out what it does to my nerves when I use it too much."

Yuno nodded. "It messes with your nervous system. I can understand how that works. Is that why you knew what to do when I lost feeling in my hands?"

Kaminari gave his hands a light squeeze, this time, Yuno could feel the pressure. He was surprised by how well that worked. "I actually didn't realize you lost feeling in your hands. I just saw you pinching and glaring at them. I thought maybe something was wrong with them. I do that too, twist them and that stuff, whenever I can't feel my fingers. I have to remind myself that I know how to take care of that. Sometimes, I get my friends to do it, you'd never believe Bakugo is so gentle."

That…"thing" can be gentle? Okay, maybe that was putting a little too harsh. But still, who would believe that explosive Pomeranian could be gentle?

"Did it work?" Kaminari asked, taking one of Yuno's fingertips between his fingers.

Yuno nodded, he could really feel his fingers again. Although, his hands didn't stop shaking, and Kaminari took notice to that as well. What was it about Kisu and her friends that made Yuno feel so transparent? Truly an annoying skill to have, but Kisu says it's better if they can see right through him; he's not so sure he likes that idea, at all.

"You're still trembling?" Kaminari scratched his head, unsure of what else to do. "Sorry, I don't know how to stop that from happening."

Yuno shook his head, placing his hands on his thighs. He gripped the fabric of his sweats, hoping it'd do something to stop his hands from shaking. "It's not something you can fix, or anyone actually."

"What happened?"

So, Yuno came to terms, Kaminari is very nosy and likes to know things about people. He likes to get to know people, become friends with them and talk about all their personal secrets. He says that he'll keep whatever secrets, and he really does; Yuno is just…skeptical around people like Kaminari, they're more prone to backstab you after befriending someone with that chirpy attitude. It's not like Yuno has anything against someone like Kaminari, he just refuses to get hurt again. The last time he trusted someone so genuinely, someone who wasn't Kisu but his parents, he was stuck in a room and pumped with god knows what substance for months, maybe even a year.

"You doing good there, buddy?" Kaminari leaned forward to get a view of Yuno's scowling expression. He looked kind of scary. "You're staring."

Yuno blinked a few times before rubbing his head. "Sorry, spaced out. What were you saying?"

The blond seemed fascinated, for whatever reason, but also concerned by the lack of attention Yuno had in his surroundings. "I was asking what happened that could make you shake so much. You can't even get them to stop; do you have a condition or something?"

Why is it that when a stranger asks him, Yuno feels less obliged to keep all his secrets, but when Kisu asks, he feels like she'll just leave him? It was funny, people like Kaminari can be trusted not to tell the secret, but he's not close enough to Yuno that he'd take a bullet for him. Maybe it's the fact that he knows Kaminari won't, can't do anything against his parents, the number three and number five heroes. Someone like Kaminari would surely want to report them to the police, but wouldn't have the courage to.

"It's not a condition." Yuno responded.

Kaminari raised a brow and leaned back against the bench, resting his head back and craning his neck against the cold metal. "I'm probably getting personal, huh? You don't have to tell me, but it's good to get stuff off your shoulders, even if it lightens the load by a teeny tiny weight."

Those were oddly wise words for someone who always loses brain cells whenever he uses his Quirk. Yuno just felt more indulged to speak, maybe vaguely let the other know that he can't be fixed, give him a call for help. Of course, that never work; no one has ever helped him. The way Kaminari sounds when he talks and the way he relaxes when Yuno is around him makes him feel more at ease to speak about himself.

"I don't know what it is about you," Yuno mumbled, he assumed Kaminari heard by the way he turned his to face Yuno. "But you have this aura to you that makes me want to talk about myself."

Kaminari laughed, it sounded nice in Yuno's ears, a kind and genuine laugh. "A lot of people tell me that. They just think I'll forget about the stuff they tell me because I'm dumb. I'm practically a dead light bulb, no one's going to be cautious around someone like that."

That brought upon a frown on Yuno's face. Suddenly, the joyful aura around Kaminari turned into a kind of sadness, maybe loneliness. Yuno can understand that; he's dangerous, so people disassociate themselves from him. Kaminari isn't the brightest, so people tell him things because they assume he won't remember for even a day. He doesn't have an actual friend, the closest to that is Kirishima, and maybe Bakugo. At least they show they care when Kaminari happens to be under the weather, or in his case, if he can't feel his fingers.

"How about a trade?" Kaminari lifted a finger, spinning it in a circle. "I'll tell you something I've never told anyone before, and you tell me something you've never told anyone before. We can learn more about each other this way. I want to know more about my upperclassman. And I promise," he placed a hand on his chest where his heart was. "I won't tell anyone so long as you say so."

That sounded like a fair trade, everything came with a price and honestly, Yuno wanted to know more about Kaminari. By far, he was one of the more interesting first years. Sure, there was Bakugo and Midoryia, but they seemed to have had a pretty good life.

Kaminari seemed different though, he searched for the attention. He searched for people to shield him, people to hide around, as if he were running from something. Yuno would recognize those qualities anywhere, he himself did it with Kisu his entire life, still does as well.

"Do we have a deal?" Kaminari asked, holding his hand out to shake on it.

Yuno thought for a few moments before taking the hand. He gripped it firmly and gave it a light shake before the two pulled away, returning to their original positions. It was quiet for a few moments more, only the white noise of the mall and people chattering about with their own companions.

"I guess I'll go first." Kaminari laughed, leaning back and rubbing his head as he crossed his legs. He lowered his head, almost shamefully, and Yuno wondered whatever he could be thinking. "Whenever I use my Quirk, it kind of hurts. I mean, it's literally electricity running through my body, it doesn't feel really good."

Now, that was not something Yuno was expecting. What he did expect was the usual, perhaps more normal secret. It wasn't like he could predict what Kaminari would say, frankly, he had zero clue what he'd say.

Kaminari chuckled, catching Yuno's thoughtful expression. "Kinda lame, right? Can't use a Quirk without hurting myself. I guess I felt comfortable saying that to you 'cause you know what that's like as well. I mean, you have to literally cut yourself to use your Quirk."

Yuno nodded. His lips pressed together as if they were sealed shut.

"Alright, now it's your turn," Kaminari encouraged, giving Yuno a nudge with his shoulder. "I told mine so, you give it a shot. It doesn't have to be that deep, Y'know."

How was Yuno supposed to give something that wasn't personal now that Kaminari had gone first. If he'd spoken first, maybe he could've set the pace of how deep they were going to get. He thought back to when Kaminari said a weight off his shoulder would do some good, no matter how much he lets off. That sounded tempting, so tempting that he had mulled it over multiple times about what he should say.

Finally, he came to a conclusion. "You asked why I was shaking, right?" Yuno found himself unconsciously intertwining his fingers and pressing his palms together.

Kaminari cocked an eyebrow, tilting his head. "Yeah, I did earlier. Is that what you're going with?"

"Mhm." The least he could do to even things out was give Kaminari something personal, even if it did scare him to talk about himself. "When I was younger, a lot younger, there was this project I was apart of. These people put me in a small room and everyday, they would pump me with these liquids, it might've been drugs, I think. I don't really know what they were, but ever since that project ended, I've found myself uncontrollably shaking and sometimes hallucinating. I wouldn't get out of the house for a long time because of how much my body trembled; it was a lot worse than now."

There, he'd said it, and without a single stutter. Should he really be that proud of himself for something so simple. No, Kisu would probably say. It's normal for that to happen, you're scared to talk about stuff like that. Wonderful how Kisu is the first person that comes to mind, and he didn't even tell her anything compared to how much he just told Kaminari.

Speaking of the blond, when Yuno looked up to meet his eyes, he found bright yellow irises filled with horror and disgust flickered through his features. His mouth was slightly agape in what Yuno could only describe as terror, afraid of what the scene would've looked like had he been there to see Yuno back then.

"I'm sorry, this was a project?" Kaminari enunciated the last word with anger and disgust. "And they just put you in it because, what, you just happened to be there?"

"I guess so," Yuno confirmed. "I don't know if they were testing medicines on me for someone, or if it was simply because I was there, I needed endurance training. I just let it happen because I was afraid of what might happen if I said no. I never liked it when needles were near me after that either, it felt like I was reliving that all over again."

Kaminari was almost glaring, trying to keep his face from twisting into something unattractive. "Is that even legal? That's messed up."

Yuno shrugged, as if he truly didn't know. It shouldn't be legal, but his parents still went and did it so, there's that answer. "I don't know, I just went along with it until the project was done."

"Telling other people about it probably wouldn't do anything for you, huh?"

If I did that, I would've been pummeled into the ground by my father. It happened once, when Yuno had refused to test his Quirk on his sister. He was so afraid of hurting her, didn't want to make her explode with her own blood like he did with his teacher and strangers. His father wasn't pleased, nor was his mother joyful about his refusal. Yuno ended up with a broken leg, multiple gashes, and a dislocated shoulder that day. He never refused to do things ever again.

"That must've been pretty hard to say." Kaminari said, he seemed to have loosened up, calmed down from his near burst of rage. "You didn't have to tell me that, Y'know. But I'm glad I got to learn something about you."

"Mm," Yuno almost snorted, letting out a grunt of amusement. "The feelings mutual. It's…nice to have another person to talk to."

They sat there for a few moments more, letting the silence between them fill the gaps of whatever they planned on saying. It felt as if Yuno had another friend, a trustworthy friend he was willing to lean on; maybe he'd soon have someone like Kaminari at his side. He wanted learn more about the blond, he'd learn about himself in the way.

Only when the sound of Kisu's shoes thumping against the ground did the two pretend they had never talked. Thy scooted away from each other acted like they never spoke about their secrets. Yuno was about to greet Kisu when he finally looked up to meet her gaze. His heart dropped to his stomach when he locked eyes with her.

Her fists were clenched by her sides, so hard that her nails must've been cutting her palms. Her eyebrows were drawn into a glare, the lines on her face sharp and angry. Her eyes were water filled, refusing to let tears fall as long as she was staring at Yuno.

"Why?" A single word came out, but there were so many questions behind it.

Yuno's muscles tensed in anxiety, he hated that look he being given, cowering under it like he was a child again. "What do you mean why? I don't know what you're talking about."

Kisu grit her teeth and he saw the way her jaw clenched down, he was worried she might crack a tooth by the slightest pressure. She lifted a hand and placed it on his shoulder gently, then she raised her other hand to grab his collar. He didn't expect Kisu to yank on his collar the moment both hands gripped the fabric. A small shout of surprise escaped his lips in the process.

"Why did you tell him that, but you didn't tell me?" Kisu's voice cracked, and by god, she was trying so hard not to smack Yuno across the cheek. "I'm your friend, I'm the person you trust the most, right? You promised me you'd tell me everything that bothered you, and I'd help you out whenever you needed it."

Yuno's breath hitched and he winced when Kisu jostled him around. He was at the edge of his seat and slightly raised off the bench by Kisu's hold. "I don't understand, why are you so mad about it?"

"Because you said you would tell me! And that I'd help and protect you! Don't you understand how frustrating it is when you promise something then you run off to someone else to fulfill that same exact promise? It hurts! It hurts and I wish you'd trust me!"

Yuno watched as the water in Kisu's eyes spilled over. Fresh hot tears of anger and salt rolled down her cheeks, dropping to the ground in heavy droplets. Yuno had never seen Kisu cry like this, it was a completely new animal to him. He didn't know what to do or what to say.

"Why didn't you just trust me?" Kisu's grip on his collar was starting to loosen, and her head drooped forward; she just couldn't look at him, not now.

"I—" Yuno gulped down the lump in his throat, hesitating, afraid he'd only anger Kisu more. "I don't know."

"Did you think I would laugh at the fact that you were opening up to someone you didn't even know?!" Kisu suddenly held the fabric and gripped it much more deathly than before. Yuno's collar rubbed against his skin and it tightened around his neck.

"Kiichan, you're hurting me-" Yuno tried to pull at Kisu's wrist, his physical strength was nowhere near a match against her.

"And you didn't hurt me?!" Kisu threw him back, dropping him back on the bench. "And don't call me that, you don't get to use that name with me."

Yuno cowered underneath Kisu, terrified by what she might do to him. "Kisu, please—"

The next words that leave Kisu's mouth have Yuno's blood runnng cold, freezing in his veins.

"I hate you." Kisu declared, voice deathly calm, turning her back to the brunette and leaving him to fend for himself.

Yuno felt like he couldn't breath under the constricting fabric of his shirt. Where was she going? Did she mean that? Does she truly hate Yuno? He wanted to stand up, chase after her through the crowd.

"I hate you." It rang in his head so many times, echoing off the walls in his mind. He could only stare at her back, wide eyed, until she was no longer visible. He was glued to the seat with no chance of getting up.

She's leaving. She's leaving me, she's never coming back.

"No, no, no, don't leave me." Yuno begged under his breath, bringing his hands to cover his ears and tug at his roots as he placed his forehead on his knees. His breath quickened in panic and his lungs constricted, refusing to take in the air. "Don't leave me alone, I'm sorry. Don't leave me, don't go, you can't leave me alone. I don't want to be alone again."

They'll find me if you leave. They'll know you left, and they'll come back for me.

Kaminari pressed a palm to Yuno's back, rubbing circles into his shoulder and trying to talk to him. Nothing got through, only muffled words reached his ears through the whispers of denial.

Yuno's feet had a mind of their own when he shot out of his seat and began running through the crowd, he needed somewhere to hide, needed to go home. He vaguely heard Kaminari calling his name, but that didn't matter. What mattered was getting home because out here, without Kisu, he was vulnerable and anyone could hurt him. He didn't care if he had to run all the way back home, he just needed to be safe.

He doesn't know how long his legs carried him, he's sure that he ran into people. It only scared him more when they cursed at him and waved their fists in frustration. It didn't help that there were so many voices in his head, they all said he was pathetic, helpless, couldn't do anything right. And they were right, he is pathetic and helpless, he always relied on Kisu, hid behind her whenever he felt overwhelmed; otherwise he'd run away like he was doing now.

Yuno's legs were moving so fast, faster than they ever have before and he didn't know how to stop even as his body begged for air. He knows he's hyperventilating, which makes it worse, and he's exhausted, definitely going past his stamina limit. His vision was beginning to become spotted with black dots and everything doubled. He was swaying, he could tell by the way the world tilted to the left and right way more than it should.

"Hey, watch out!"

Yuno heard a shout, barely registered, before he felt his body tumble to the ground along with another pair of limbs. He saw a flash of purple hair as he landed on top of the person, most likely knocking the wind out of them.

"What the…" a young man's voice filled Yuno's ears, it sounded like father from years ago.

With widened eyes, Yuno scrambled away from the stranger; he must've startled the seemingly older man, if the high pitched yell was anything to go off of. He wanted to run away from the purple head, but his limbs were so worn out, he felt he barely had enough energy to hold himself in a dog position.

"You okay there?" Blond hair filled Yuno's vision, along with big blue eyes. The voice was quirky and had filled Yuno's ears.

The brunette blinked a few times, trying to clear up the haziness. His eyes half lidded and hardly able to open any further, exhaustion gripped his body and he collapsed onto the concrete with an unpleasant thud. No, he needs to get home, these people will hurt him.
